More the merrier. Here are 15 times you fight multiple bosses at once.

Some boss battles add to the excitement by adding another boss into the proceedings. Fights against multiple bosses aren’t incredibly common, but as soon as we see one begin, we are filled with a sense of dread. Thankfully they are incredibly good boss fights as well, and not just a way to make the game harder.

Dragon Slayer Ornstein and Executioner Smough – Dark Souls 1

When one of these gold-plated giants goes down, the other absorbs their power and just gains more abilities. The fight is tough enough as it is, with two colossi attacking simultaneously, but then the second half of the fight switches to a classic one on one brawl, but it remains just as hard, even when you win you don’t feel like you’ve won. But that’s Dark Souls.

Bosses can be epic but they can also be some of the strangest parts of a game.

Boss Battles are often the highlight of a game, showcasing phenomenal design and creating a satisfying difficulty spike. But these 15 bosses range from incredibly easy to just plain bizarre. We aren’t quite sure what the developers were thinking.

Steroid Joker – Batman Arkham Asylum

After putting the Dark Knight through dozens of devious traps the Joker decides that tricks won’t cut it for their final confrontation. So he pumps himself full of the venom drug and bulks up, flexing his giant muscles and swinging wildly at the caped crusader. The Joker is known for dastardly schemes, so why just give him some muscles and turn him into another thug?

Bosses aren't just meant to bookend chapters in a game. They can also be pure spectacle.

Bosses are often the highlight of any game, but these 25 titles offer up the biggest, most thought provoking baddies that have ever closed out a level. Here are the 25 most mind-blowing boss fights.

Note: The views expressed in this article are those of the author and do not necessarily represent the views of, and should not be attributed to, GamingBolt as an organization.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater

Each Metal Gear Solid game has a unique cast of bizarre bosses, but Snake Eater has some of the most memorable. The End nestles between the blades of grass, dying with each second he hunts you down. Volgin, on the other hand, is full of bravado, electricity coursing through his massive fists as he lays into you, giving no quarter. And while the Shagohod isn’t necessarily a Metal Gear, the nuclear tank still packs a punch.

While bosses are often the best enemies of any given game, some are more difficult to find than others.

Bosses are often the highlight of any game, but some are harder to find than others. But these optional bosses are not only rewarding to find, they’re rewarding to defeat. Here are the 15 secret video game bosses you never knew existed.

Note: The views expressed in this article are those of the author and do not necessarily represent the views of, and should not be attributed to, GamingBolt as an organization.

Karstaag: Skyrim

Find Karstaag’s skull and place it on his forgotten throne and you will summon the ghost of the mighty frost giant. The ruins shake and rumble as he tears his way out of the ether. But once he’s out he isn’t too keen on going back. And that’s where you come in. His attacks seem similar to those of standard frost giants, but they pack quite the punch. He earns his title as one of the game’s hardest bosses.

His arm is transplanted onto Revolver Ocelot, keeping the fierce warrior alive far past his expiration date. He then returns in Metal Gear Solid 2, causing even more trouble for Snake as he vies for world domination.

Some bosses tower above the player, simultaneously creating spectacle and challenge.

Bosses serve as the bookends to chapters in video games. These harder, more fully realized enemies are meant to instill fear and awe in the player, and some do this through sheer size. Here are the 15 biggest bosses of all time. Please note that we are only considering the size of these bosses and not their individual difficulties.

Note: The views expressed in this article are those of the author and do not necessarily represent the views of, and should not be attributed to, GamingBolt as an organization.

Cronos

As Kratos steps into the Pits of Tartarus he is greeted by Chronos, the titan banished to the deepest regions of the underworld. But to Kratos he is just another obstacle in his quest. So he fights the towering being, working his way up his leathery skin, ripping out his fingernails, pulling out his organs, and killing him in a suitably gruesome manner. But the mere size of your opponent is hard to comprehend, making it one of the most memorable fights in the entire series.
