Bound By Flame Crafting Guide:

Components:

In Bound by Flame, there are several opportunities to collect loot. Whatever you do in the game will grant you loot, whether it be killing monsters, looting chests you can collect the following items that have different quality levels/

The items that can be collected are:

Gemstone

Bones

Metal

Steel

Leather

Blood

Hearth dust

You will find have a lot of low quality materials but finding high quality material is tough and you will need a massive amount of that to craft weapons and armours. But lower quality materials can be used to craft higher quality ones. You can also gain crafting materials from recycling unwanted materials. When you get new armor or weapon, you can destroy the old one to gain crafting items.

Talents:

Crafting not only has an effect on armor and equipment, but it also affects your talents. If you are a master in craftsmanship you will consume less materials and will also find more loot. But remember, you won’t be able to carry unlimited equipment but certain skills will allow the player to increase the limit.

Utility:

The player can also craft utilities like explosive traps, crossbows, ammunition and potions. These consume less items and are fairly easy to craft.

Armor and Weapon:

Bound By Flame features an indepth customization system for Armor and Weapon, the system allows upgrading to the metal. You can upgrade chest, gloves, boots and helmets. Each of them can be optimized and the players can also add bonuses to them. The player can also increase resistance to magic, fire and ice.
How To Become A Demon:

The player is accompanied by a demon throughout the game and depending on your actions and choices, you may turn into a complete demon. This not only changes the way you look but also affects your equipment. For example, you may grow horns so in that case the player won’t be able to wear a helmet. The story will give you choices and you have to selectbetween using the demonic powers or a more heroic path.

Blacksmith Guide:

Whenever you visit villages or a settlement, you will find a lot of Blacksmiths. But you need a lot of gold to upgrade your weapons. So the best way is to craft the items you need, as good is going to be hard to come by.

Earning more gold and Levelling Up faster::

There is no faster way to level up in Bound by Flame. The game requires a lot of grinding and facing enemies head on. I personally found combining combat and completing quests the best way to level up. You can earn more gold and level up faster by:

Completing quests: Side and main quests.

Unlocking exploration feats.

Looting everything.

Selling off unwanted items.

Achievements and Trophy guide:

Bound By Flame features pretty simple trophy and achievements list. Most of them can be unlocked by just playing through the main story mode or using the guides above.

Beasted

You have bested a Juggernaut… and that’s just the beginning!

General demoted

You have slain a Deadwalker General and saved the village of Valvenor from a massacre.

Purifying fire

You decided that there was nothing left of Vertiel to save, and taken extreme measures.

Sacrifice

Your heroic actions have saved Vertiel…and you have paid with your own life.

Unleash the Beast

To hell with humanity, even your own: you have decided that the power is worth the sacrifice.

Humanist

You have controlled the inner voice and taken care to preserve your humanity until the end.

Mercenary

Either for love of your fellow human or simple greed, you have accomplished your 20th side quest.

Ice breaker

You have melted Edwen’s frosty facade. Or at least, she checks you out when you’re not looking.

Romance with pointy ears

You have bested Rhelmar at his own game: The ladykiller Elf has a crush on you.

Erudite love

Responding both to your kindness, and your advances, the ravishing Sybil has the hots for you.

Chivalrandy

Randval has abandoned his deathwish while succumbing to your charms. Double whammy!

Patron 20

You proved yourself a guardian of the seekers of knowledge by fulfilling all of Sybil’s missions.

A fulfilled elf

You have shown Rhelmar he can count on you.

Without fear, without reproach

You have helped Randval resolve all of his personal problems…well, most of them anyway.

At the lady’s service

You have made the effort to respond to all of Edwen’s demands. She even thanked you….once. (2)

Hawk

You have reached the end of Bound by Flame. Not bad, for a scout.

Buffalo

As a good veteran, you have managed to complete Bound by Flame under difficult conditions.

Captain

As a worthy Captain, you have completed Bound by Flame under the most extreme conditions.

Just a warm-up

You learn to use your weapons. 25 people have already done so before you.

Just a slaughter

With 150 victims, you are officially the bane of the Deadwalkers.

Shot your bolt

Thanks to you, 50 crossbow bolts have found a new home in your enemies’ flesh. (1)

Bloody hell

You have killed 50 enemies with a dagger. People often talk about you to frighten small children.

Quite a hammering

You have slain or re-slain more than 50 enemies with a warhammer. That is rather violent.

Sword it out

49 enemies killed with a sword. You crossed the line…and then some.

Psycho killer

You have slain enough victims with an axe to fuel urban legends for centuries to come.

It’s a trap!

You like setting booby-traps and they work. More than twenty have already fallen to them.

I’m on fire

You have transformed your enemies into flaming torches 50 times. They have probably got the message.

First come, first served

Knowing that no one would argue with you, you have looted 20 chests.

And I don’t throw things away

You’ve learned to recycle objects that you no longer need, instead of throwing them away.

Craftsmanship

Congratulations! With all the objects you have made, you could open up a store.

Blacksmith

You have learned the secrets of improving weapons and armour.

Vulture

You have learned the habit of looting the bodies of fallen enemies. That’s war for you…

Chrysalid

You have played the poison card more than 50 times. It works every time.

First steps

You have upgraded your first skill, and improved your chances of survival at the same time.

Master at arms

There is no better warrior than you in all of Vertiel. Even among the Freeborn Blades.

Master Ranger

The Ranger skills hold no more secrets for you.

Firestarter

Skill after skill, you have truly mastered the art of playing with fire.

Note: This guide will updated once we have more information about the game.

After it debuted two weeks prior to become the number one selling game across all platforms, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 fell to third place in this past week’s UKIE game charts. Meanwhile, Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall is back at number one, moving up from second place according to Gfk Chart-Track.

FIFA 14 also moved up one slot to third place while Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition came in at fourth. 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil is in fifth place, followed by Call of Duty: Ghosts, The LEGO Movie Videogame, Battlefield 4, LEGO The Hobbit and LEGO Marvel Super Heroes. On a side-note, the fact that Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and TT Games could have three LEGO titles in the top ten for this long? That shows success right there.

Spiders’ Bound by Flame also debuted this past Friday, coming in at 12th place in the UKIE game charts. The game has received mixed to negative reviews since its release on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Bound by Flame is a game which takes the player on a somewhat immersive journey through the use of light RPG game mechanics while holding its focus on slow-paced hack ‘n’ slash combat moments. After a brief character customization screen that has you deciding upon the gender, name and facial appearance of your main character, you’re immediately flung into the game and there’s no delay in starting your journey.

Taking the role of a mercenary or as I like to call it, hired help, long story short there’s demons to slay, people not to trust, and player-based decisions that make an attempt to try and change the outcome of the game. By the way you’ve also been possessed by a demon who could care no more for you, or any of the other lifeless NPC’s that you’ll meet in the game.

Now, while many people will be comparing the game to those in a similar genre such as the The Witcher, and most obviously Dark Souls, Bound by Flame is it’s own game. Dark Souls seems to have set a benchmark for what qualifies as a “good” game, within the genre of slower, combat focused games. Although, I feel the most appropriate term that can be given to this is an ignorant based standard, that many will more than likely disregard, along with any other game that bares similarities to Dark Souls, as a rip-off wannabe. With that being said I don’t feel it’s okay to even draw any comparisons as the games have nothing in common other than the obvious which I have just mentioned.

Bound by Flame presents itself to the player as a straight forward adventure with minimal side missions, that tie in to it’s main story. While these side missions don’t do much to contribute towards the main story they’re quite enjoyable and deliver enough content to keep the player engaged. These also add replay value to the game along with elements of choice, to keep the player coming back for a second time round. As I said previously there’s an emphasis on combat and the way it ties in with it’s RPG system. As the player gains experience points through battle with other demons and creatures within the game’s world, along with looting dropped items from fallen enemies, these can be used to craft new resources which can then be combined to upgrade and produce stronger weapons, potions, and armor.

What’s unique about the crafting and resource system in Bound by flame is that it doesn’t feel too pestering or heavy. It’s not deep enough to repel players not fond of this system, but it’s not so light that it would repel those who are heavily deep in to this feature. It’s also rather simple in the way that it works and it doesn’t overdo itself in swarming you with text and explanations as to what every single item does.

As thought out and well managed the item system is in the game, I do wish I could say the same for the actual plot of the game, and the characters that it involves. There’s no denying the enjoyability of the game particularly when slashing your sword through Deadwalkers and timing your counter-attacks on Necromancers. Free to use at the player’s disposal are daggers, axes, swords, and the like.

Different weapon types are particularly useful when going against different enemy types, combined with Pyromancer magic and the option to switch play-style by the flick of a button, the longevity for engaging and enjoyable combat is a given. How well your allies make use of such dangerous weapons when fighting alongside you is a different case entirely. It’s a great feature that you can assign them certain actions such as healing your character or attacking from a distance, but their own abilities and combat are lackluster in comparison, and I found myself doing most of the work. Every other character in the game felt “half developed” and did nothing of the sort to have me interested in who they where or how beneficial they may become to me later on down the line.

It's also rather simple in the way that it works and it doesn't overdo itself in swarming you with text and explanations as to what every single item does."

This also stretches into conversation sequences when a large number of the characters would exchange dialogue for the sake of progressing the story forward. Character interaction appears to be somewhat broken in my honest opinion, if not thought out entirely and given proper care and attention. The characters themselves are full of personality and I guess we should be grateful for that, but the conversations that take place between the characters don’t quite match up or even make sense as to how people would respond or talk in actual reality, and the stiff animations don’t do much to help this neither. I guess it’s also okay to excuse the fact that amongst the primary group of people you travel and make conversation with for the majority of the game, all have entirely different accents hand picked from around the world.

Since the game itself takes place in a fictional realm of middle-earth humans, bad-mouthed elves, and floating plants with a chip on their shoulder. I counted one Russian, an upper-class Englishman, a Scottish guy, and my main character originating somewhere from the U.S. but hey it’s laughably forgivable. As far as the brains of the group go, the only person who seems to be aware of the bizarre happenings taking place in the actual story of the game would be the player.

Seeing as the main character becomes possessed as some point by another worldly demon you would expect your companions to be in a state of “Shock and Awe” when he or she slays an over-sized zombie, that you were previously fleeing from twenty minutes beforehand. But oh no not here, in my character’s own words. “Uh, hey…Did anybody see what I just did to that huge monster? I mean, seriously? I fried that thing! I saved our asses, and you’re all just, Hey, what’s for lunch?.”

Not long after that when your character’s eye’s are bright red and he or she is cursing the other members of the group in a completely different tongue, and insulting the very nature of what it means to be human, they still remain completely oblivious. This whole issue with the character dialogue and not being aware to the strange events taking place around them, is a complete immersion breaker. It looks like a bad stage rehearsal for a low-budget play, taking place in a rundown theater. Just to add time to the crime, the game throws in character choice responses in the same way that the Mass Effect series does.

However in the same way that Mass Effect does this, by having your character say something that’s completely different from the text box you chose, Bound by Flame does the exact same thing. While there are consequences for your actions they’re not really worth caring for as no relationships are formed between anyone in the game, nor will they see you in a different light, should you choose to be an arrogant snob. These sections of choice however seem to prove useless the majority of the time anyway as it often contradicts itself and backfires on what you originally chose to say.

At one section in particular when deciding not to snitch upon a murderous witch, responsible for the death of an untrustworthy old man. My character mentioned her name during the next set of choices that followed immediately after. Not to long thereafter she spilled the beans on who the witch was and why she killed him. Does storytelling mean anything these days when it comes to a game that involves the element of choice? As fun and exciting that Bound by Flame is, my own personal reasons for continuing on with the game came from my liking for combat and raising the abilities of my character. The world in which you’re given to explore is quite open in the sense of being split between sandboxes and zone entrances that contain minimal loading times.

""Uh, hey...Did anybody see what I just did to that huge monster? I mean, seriously? I fried that thing! I saved our asses, and you're all just, "Hey, what's for lunch?."

In each of the zones the player uses an in-game map that is placed in the bottom right corner which can also be over-layed over the screen through a semi-transparent filter. This works well as the game’s world is set up as mostly as paths with mission indications to help navigate the player in reaching his or her destination. The game’s world itself bares well with the theme and setting of the game, that being dark, ghostly, and fantasy medieval.

There’s narrow forests, foggy swamps, caves, villages, and the like. The visuals that give these settings life however, are really nothing to write home about. The best part from a visual standpoint is increase in resolution and frame-rate that the game holds over its console brethren. While the graphical settings will please the PC gamer’s fetish, and will run well across a multiple of configurations, playing on the highest settings available I wasn’t really impressed.

Textures appear flat and contain a “hard wet” look, and the detail appears quite minimal. The game is clearly screaming for tessellation and would do well in benefiting from more visual effects in giving the game a more atmospheric style and look. Particularly in the form of smoke, dust and particle effects. Since my character seemed to emit her own light whenever nightfall came, not much can really be said regarding the game’s use of correct lighting and character shadows. The practicality of how this actually works for the best of my knowledge is not explainable nor did I accept it as actually possible. Had my character been carrying a torch I would understand, but then fact she became her own light source with no supernatural tie-in to the story made absolutely no sense whatsoever.

All said and done Bound by Flame is full of plenty to do and plenty to explore. Upgrading your artillery and changing your character’s appearance never gets old, and the element of choice and ongoing side missions succeeds on delivering replay value. The game is fifteen hours plus and while I don’t bold well with the idea of justifying a game’s length in contrast to it’s price, I mention the length of the game on the basis of how enjoyable the game is, and how much time the player can expect to spend with it depending on his or her play style and natural sense of progression.

Despite the few misnomers regarding odd character dialogue and out of touch instances of character emotion, Bound by Flame manages to stand out more for it’s good sections, and they largely outweigh those that are bad. This isn’t a DarkSouls substitute nor is it attempting compete with it. Bound by Flame carries it’s own identity and deserves the play time that it manages to deliver so much on.

The fantasy RPG's gameplay and background story are revealed in this new video.

Spiders’ Bound by Flame will be out on May 9th, this Friday, for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and PC. A launch trailer for the game has been released which details some of the background story, the gameplay and just what the hell is up with that demon possessing our main man. Check it out above.

Bound by Flame is a fantasy action RPG that sees you playing as the atypical hero of the world that becomes possessed by a powerful flame demon. This demon isn’t like most – it’s actually set on saving the world, even if its methods aren’t what you’d call heroic. You’ll balance between rejecting and using the demon’s power to ultimately forge ahead, either developing your own skills or accepting fire magic and spells in the process.

Along the way, you’ll encounter several companions to join you on your quest while also making choices to events that will ultimately determine whether the demon or the hero wins out.

Will you be playing Bound by Flame on Friday? Let us know in the comments.

Producer Walid Miled talks about the hack and slash RPG's story, gameplay and much more.

Role playing games have for several decades focused on you, the hero, saving the world. Conflict arises, psychology is employed and there may be the odd twist here and there but for the most part, most developers have stuck to this formula. Spiders, which developed Mars War Logs, is looking to take a slightly different route with Bound by Flame, it’s fantasy RPG set to release on May 9th for Xbox 360, PS3, PS4 and PC. There is a demon in the game that’s eventually sealed in the hero but far be it from this entity to encourage hellfire, brimstone and some good ol’ fashioned maiming. It actually wants to save the world but comes into conflict with the hero’s desire to save its people. Who is right? Who is wrong? More importantly, who’s approach will you side with?

Game producer Walid Miled spoke to GamingBolt about the same and broke down the various mechanics you’ll encounter in the game including the fighting styles, enemies, environments, story setting and of course, development on a higher grade console with the PlayStation 4.

"The demon is neither good nor evil; he has his own goals and he doesn’t care much about humanity. All he wants is save the world and life as a whole. "

Pramath Parijat: Bound by Flame is the next action RPG from Spiders, after Mars War Logs. What was the motivation for attempting the same genre?

Walid Miled: Spiders was founded by hardcore RPG fans and with the idea that RPG will, at least for a while, be our main genre. As we strive with each game to give the player a better experience and a deeper story, we gain experience and our tool chains and pipeline improves, it is a continuously renewed experience for us that we would like to push to the maximum.

Pramath Parijat: With storytelling being one of the core elements of role playing games, what can you tell us about it? Furthermore, how do you plan to make sure it communicates directly with the player and get him/her intrigued?

Walid Miled: At spiders we also feel that storytelling is the core element of an immersive and complete experience. When working on Bound by Flame, we focused on these elements to ensure the interest and involvement of the player:

– A coherent storyline with unexpected developments and regular apparition of new elements.
– Strong characters that the hero and the player will look up to such as fellow mercenaries or the captain of the company.
– Strong companion characters that the player will get attached to and relate to. The player is also rewarded for successful interactions with companions through romances.
– Most of all; a choice based storyline and dialogs that involve the player, empower him with control and rewards him with the consequences of his choices.

Pramath Parijat: The game will see the player embody a protagonist who can either gain heroic powers or succumb to a flame demon for evil powers. Will there be a choice system akin to Mass Effect and Mars War Logs that ties into this and affects how you interact with different NPCs?

Walid Miled: Early in the game, the player is possessed by a powerful fire demon. This demon becomes a new character in the story. The demon is neither good nor evil; he has his own goals and he doesn’t care much about humanity. All he wants is save the world and life as a whole. On the other hand, the hero wants to save as many people as he can. So, the player gets these choices throughout the game through quests and dialogs where he decides if he wants to keep his humanity or give way to the demon’s influence.

Giving way to the demon will alter the available quests. It will also change your relationship to you companions as well as the endings. Gameplay wise, it also changes the characters appearance and the gameplay.

Pramath Parijat: What can you tell us about the five different characters that the player will pay a visit in the game? How will the choices in their respective story line affect gameplay and narration?

Walid Miled: I believe you are referring to the companions that the player will meet throughout the game. Actually, all 5 companions cannot be available at the same time; it depends on the choices and the quests you do; some will leave, some will die, some only appear later in the game. The available quests and story line are then affected by the whereabouts of these companions.
Learning from our experiences of Mars War logs we also focused on giving the companions specific gameplay abilities; healing, mind control, sniping, etc. Orders can be issued to companions so that they have a real tactical impact in the fights thus, depending on his speciality; the player has the choice to select a complementary companion.

"We felt that for a renewed experience, variety in the enemies was a must have. We really tried to provide the player with different and evolving fight situations. Each enemy has its own specificity for the player to understand and beat..."

Pramath Parijat: What can you tell us about the different classes in the game and how will they differ from each other?

Walid Miled: The game doesn’t exactly have classes, it has different fighting styles. When starting the game, you do not pick between classes, you do that throughout the game by improving skill trees.

There are 2 fighting styles:

– The 2 handed heavy weapons fighting style, “Warrior”, uses swords, hammers and axes. This fighting style can be compared to a tanked class. It has interrupt abilities, can do area damages and can break light shields. With this style you can push enemies to the ground and perform a charged area attack.
– The double daggers fighting style, “Ranger”. This is a high speed, high DPS style made especially for hit and run and stealth. When stealthy you can backstab enemies for increased damages. We made sure that almost all of the fighting situations offer a stealth opportunity.
The player also has access to magical fire powers that can be used in both fighting styles.

Pramath Parijat: Can you please let us know whether there will be any skills or levelling up system in the game? If yes can you please explain these features in detail?

Walid Miled: With each kill and quest resolution, the player gains experience points allowing him to level up to around level 25 by the end of the game. With each level, the player acquires 2 “skills” points and 1 “feat” point he can use to improve his character. The game offers 3 skill trees. Each skill tree is associated with a fighting style:

– The “Warrior” skill tree allows the improvement of strength, damage, resistance, the ability to interrupt, etc. When specialized in this skill tree, your character can virtually run into a fight guns blazing (swords blazing in this case)
– The “Ranger” skill tree lets the player improve his speed, DPS and stealth attacks.
– The “Pyromancer” skill tree lets the player upgrade all the active fire powers as well as mana regeneration and mana usage.
At the top of each skill tree there is an ultimate skill that you can unlock. When used, it gives the player a buff for a limited amount of time. In the case of the “Pyromancer” skill tree it spawns a fire spirit that will fight alongside the player.

Feat points can be used to unlock feats. Feats give the player an added advantage in the fight, for instance one feat called “Practical” gives the player 10% plus experience per kill. Feats have prerequisites that have to be completed before they can be bought. “Practical” requires the player to kill 15 enemies and costs 1 feat point. With all this elements the player can really fine-tune his character to his preferred playing style.

Pramath Parijat: What can you tell us about the enemies and the boss battles in the game?

Walid Miled: We felt that for a renewed experience, variety in the enemies was a must have. We really tried to provide the player with different and evolving fight situations. Each enemy has its own specificity for the player to understand and beat; some enemies are resistant to magic damages, other to physical damages, some event change stat in between. With each environment, new enemies will appear and different ones will be encountered at night.

We were very excited to work on a dark fantasy game as we could go crazy on the enemies and that’s exactly what we did, especially with boss that we wanted huge and scary; throughout the game, the player will stumble on some very nasty beasts.

" We feel that the step up from the old generation is so strong that yes the PS4 has what it takes to really let the creativity run free. I am eager to see what the games will look like when the console will be pushed to its limits."

Pramath Parijat: How will Bound by Flame take advantage of the PlayStation 4’s hardware, especially given the potential that the platform holds? What are your thoughts on the power of the RAM and the unified architecture?

Walid Miled: The PlayStation 4 is a great console it gives us a blast of fresh air and much more room to express ourselves. The game will run in native 1080p at a 30-60 framerate and all textures, shadows and post-processes are high resolution. We also use the Dualshock 4 touch pad for short cuts and the light bar for life feedback. A unified architecture makes things easier and gives us more time to focus on giving the player a great experience.

Pramath Parijat: Does the x86-based hardware of the PlayStation 4 make it easier to develop for the PS4 in comparison to the PS3? For that matter, how similar will the PC and PS4 versions match?

Walid Miled: Unfortunately I cannot go that much into details as the answers would require addressing many points that reach out of the scope of this interview.

Pramath Parijat: Will Bound by Flame aim for a 1080p resolution and 60 fps on the PS4?

Walid Miled: Bound by flame runs on PS4 at a native 1080p with a frame rate ranging from 30 to 60 fps depending on how crowded the screen is with enemies.

Pramath Parijat: From a development perspective what are your thoughts on the PlayStation 4’s GPU? Do you think it provides enough number of compute units [it provides 18] to render high end visuals without any compromise?

Walid Miled: We feel that the step up from the old generation is so strong that yes the PS4 has what it takes to really let the creativity run free. I am eager to see what the games will look like when the console will be pushed to its limits.

Pramath Parijat: Is there anything else you want to tell our readers about the game?

Walid Miled: We put a lot of love and energy in making Bound by flame. Spiders is a team of 30 and many RPG fans. We really hope the readers of Gamingbolt will enjoy the game as much as we enjoyed doing it. Thank you !

Bound By Flame is an upcoming role playing game due to release on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC in May. It’s developed by Spiders and published by Focus Home Interactive. The game promises to have an intuitive crafting and combat system and is apparently looking like a very solid entry into the role playing genre.

Since the game is due for the PlayStation 4, GamingBolt asked the game’s producer, Walid Miled, about what kind of advantages does Sony’s new consoles offer.

“The PlayStation 4 is a great console it gives us a blast of fresh air and much more room to express ourselves. The game will support high resolution textures, shadows and post-processes. We also use the Dualshock 4 touch pad for shortcuts and the light bar for life feedback. A unified architecture makes things easier and gives us more time to focus on giving the player a great experience,” Walid Miled explained.

“We feel that the step up from the old generation is so strong that yes the PS4 has what it takes to really let the creativity run free. I am eager to see what the games will look like when the console will be pushed to its limits,” he further explained.

Earlier we had reported that the game will confirm at 1080p on the PS4, however it will have variable frame rate from 30-60fps. We will have the full review of Bound by Flame in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for more updates.

Bound by Flame is an upcoming fantasy-themed action role-playing game that will be released on May 9, 2014 across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. GamingBolt got an opportunity to interview to Spider Games’ Walid Miled, who is the producer of Bound by Flame.

Those interested in picking up the PS4 version of Bound By Flame will be interested to know that the game runs at native 1080p resolution with a variable frame rate from 30-60.

“Bound by flame runs on PS4 at a native 1080p with a frame rate ranging from 30 to 60 fps depending on how crowded the screen is with enemies,” Miled confirmed to GamingBolt.

Furthermore he also explained the different fighting styles in the game. “When starting the game, you do not pick between classes, you do that throughout the game by improving skill trees. There are 2 fighting styles. The 2 handed heavy weapons fighting style, “Warrior”, uses swords, hammers and axes. This fighting style can be compared to a tanked class. It has interrupt abilities, can do area damages and can break light shields. With this style you can push enemies to the ground and perform a charged area attack.”

“The double daggers fighting style, “Ranger”. This is a high speed, high DPS style made especially for hit and run and stealth. When stealthy you can backstab enemies for increased damages. We made sure that almost all of the fighting situations offer a stealth opportunity,” he explained.

We will have the full review of Bound by Flame in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for more updates.

Spiders Studios' reveals the mechanics behind whacking things.

Spiders Studios’ Bound by Flame will be out next month and will see players take up a dark fantasy quest in order to deal with the protagonist’s duality. The developer has released a brand new trailer which showcases the combat mechanics of the game ranging from the various skills available to the different classes and much more. Check it out above.

Bound by Flame will feature the Warrior, Ranger and Pyromancer classes and even allow you to customize your items and equipment by crafting. You can also choose your own companions to accompany you on different quests.

The combat is definitely more tactical than your typical hack and slash adventure, so it’s best to plan out your approach before rushing out to meet your enemies in battle. If that weren’t enough, you’ll need to carefully manage your human and demon halves to assure victory.

Bound by Flame releases on May 9th for PS4, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

Looks pretty good.

Developers Spiders Studio have released a new gameplay video for their upcoming RPG titled Bound By Flame for the PS4. The video shows about two minutes’ worth of gameplay that focuses solely on the RPG’s combat, showing off some of the moves and abilities we get to use in the game along with the enemies we will face.

Everything from fireballs and swords to maces and two handed axes has been shown off in the video. And it has to be said that, having seen it, it looks very reminiscent of the Dark Souls and Demon’s Souls games. The combat looks similar in nature and style and the game itself looks similar to the Souls titles in terms of its innate nature. We, of course, are gleaning all this from a short gameplay video, so consider this as more of an observation.

Take a look at the video above, you’ll find that it’s quite interesting.
