Yet another week and yet another group of games have been added to Xbox One’s growing list of backwards compatabile games. Last generation’s critically acclaimed Dead Space 2 and the somewhat disappointing Dead Space 3 are now fully compatible with Xbox One. This news was revealed by Microsoft’s Larry Hryb a.k.a. Major Nelson who also announced that Alaskan Adventures, Cabela’s Dangerous Hunts 2013, Cabela’s Hunting Expeditions, Cabela’s Survival: Shadows of Katmai have also been added to the list.

Although, I am not sure how many of you would like to revist the Cabela games, but I will recommend playing the two Dead Space games, especially Dead Space 2, if you haven’t already. Although the original is better than its two sequels, Dead Space 2 is a classic that you don’t want to miss out playing.

The Dead Space games are definitely the highlight of  today’s batch of backwards compatible list. But what are your thoughts on this? Ready to get back to dead space, all over again?

The Fearmaster utilises heartbeat sensors in the grips and an infrared camera in the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions, detecting the heart rate and hand stability of the gamer and reflecting it accordingly in game.

If your heartrate is high and your hand unsteady, the screen will become blurred and aiming more difficult, in an attempt at providing a more authentic hunting experience. Question is wether a game like Cabela’s Dangerous Hunts 2013 can generate enough fear factor to penetrate the steely hides of gamers to make the peripheral worth anybody’s time.

Top Shot Fearmaster on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation3 on Oct. 23 for $79.99. The game will also be available for the Wii with the new Top Shot peripheral for $59.99.

Seriously, what is it with Activision and heartbeat sensors?

Of course, it plays into gameplay. Players who can better control their heart rate will be able to deal more damage, have increased accuracy and just overall get through life in the wild much easier. The rest, not so much so.

It bears mentioning that the heartbeat sensor will only be on the XBox 360 and Playstation 3, not on the Nintendo Wii release.

Animals, by the way, have a new predator AI and can form packs to properly assault gamers beyond their senses. And remember, they can smell your fear, even through the TV screen (or something).
