The free update adds a ton of new stuff.

GRIP: Combat Racing recently got a new patch, and it adds a massive amount of content. The combat-based racer will see four new tracks, and the introduction of Team Modes with Team Racing and Team Deathmatch. Also included is an increase of the level cap, going from 30 to 40. But that’s not all- the update will also include bug fixes, new skins to buy, and cars to unlock and customize.

You can take a look at the trailer for the update below, and see the full patch notes. Meanwhile, also make sure to check out our interview with Game Director Chris Mallinson from last year to get the scoop on what kind of experience you’re in for with the carnage of GRIP.

The update is live now on Steam (where the game is also currently on sale for 33% off), and will be available for consoles later this month, as the game’s official Twitter page confirmed (see their tweet below). GRIP: Combat Racing is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.

The car combat title has received a concrete release date.

The car combat genre has been woefully inactive in recent years, with a Burnout and Twisted Metal shaped hole weighing down on all our hearts. Back in March, developers Caged Element announced GRIP: Combat Racing, and understandably, we were all quite excited. Publishers Wired Productions have now announced a release date for the game, and it’s pretty close.

GRIP: Combat Racing will be launching for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on November 6th of this year, so it’s almost upon us. The game promises to be a quintessential car combat experience (as its name might have given away), featuring gravity defying physics, high speeds, destruction, and more. It will, of course, feature both online and offline play, as well as split-screen multiplayer, so that’s something to be excited about.

“Born of the age of street racing, and losing none of its cut-throat nature, it’s not enough to just cross the line in GRIP: Combat Racing,” the developers say. “More important is how you got there and how much destruction you have unleashed upon your rivals along the way.” We can only hope the game will live up to what it’s promising. Not long left until it launches now, so we’ll find out soon enough.

Buckle up, GRIP is coming...

While it’s been seeing an extended tune up on Steam early access for a while now, it seems like the futuristic racing title GRIP is set to peel out of the garage later this fall according to a new press release by the game’s publisher Wired Productions, complete with its own trailer.

Boasting 15 armoured cars with their own unique stats, 11 weapons to wield against your foes, 19 daunting tracks and 767 Miles Per Hour of speed, Caged Element Inc, the team behind the arcade classic Rollcage is confident that players will enjoy their new title. Those with a PS4 Pro or Xbox One X can look forward to some unspecified improvements as well.

The game currently enjoys a 90% positive reception on Steam Early Access, meaning when it officially launches this fall on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC, racing fans should be in for a real treat. You can see the trailer for yourself just below.

The combat racing game we deserve.

Caged Element is hoping to fill the gaping, Twisted Metal shaped hole left in our collective lives this year with GRIP, releasing on PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Xbox One later in 2018 following a successful Kickstarter campaign. While it’s been available as an early access title for some time with fairly positive user reviews, the proper release will be more fleshed out.

Unreal Engine 4 powers the title, which the developers say was inspired by classic 90’s titles like the Rollcage games. The game has a seasoned team behind it to bring the action to life, and has promised that the power of Xbox One X and PS4 Pro will be leveraged; though the nature of said enhancements was not expanded upon.

When the game launches later this year, the press release promises a killer soundtrack to go with sweet, speedy and destructive action racing. We’re able to look forward to more coming out about the game when it’s avalible to the public at PAX East and EGX Rezzed soon. Are you interested in the game? Let us know in the comments below and check out the high adrenaline trailer below.
