Sony's support cited as the main reason.

Carnivore Studios’ Koduku is an upcoming survival horror title for PS4 and PS Vita which plans to put the player in a horror situation and urges them to explore across a island in Japan. The game has a different twist and will not have zombies as main enemies. Instead the players will face off against Japanese folklore inspired by Lovecraftian creatures and must avoid them by forming strategies and new techniques.

Given that the game is due only for PlayStation platforms, GamingBolt asked Carnivore Studio whether there are any future plans to bring the game to the Xbox One. Unfortunately, for Xbox One owners there are no such plans at the moment.

“So far, we do not have official plans to release it for Xbox One. The choice has mostly been driven by the support Sony can give us as independent developers, which really helps us,” Romain Toutain, Technical director and co-game designer of Koduko told to GamingBolt.

Kodoku is expected to launch next year on the PS4 and PS Vita.

Cross Buy between the PS4/PS Vita is still to be decided.

Koduku is an upcoming survival horror title for PS4 and PS Vita that is under development at Carnivore Studios. The game is expected to mix up horror and exploration elements and takes place on a island in Japan. The game will have not have zombies but instead you will have to use stealth and intelligent tactics to avoid Japanese folklore inspired Lovecraftian creatures.

GamingBolt recently got a chance to chat with Romain Toutain who is the CEO of the studio. Romain confirmed to us that the game will run at native 1080p and sixty frames per second on the PS4. This is yet another game that is confirmed to be running at the golden standard of graphics on the PS4.

Furthermore, much like several developers, Romain was all praise for the amount of memory that Sony has put in the PS4’s hardware. When asked about how he feels about that, he stated, “Well, there is so much memory to use!”

Cross Buy between the PS4/PS Vita is still to be decided for Kodoku but it is under consideration. “This is not decided yet. As a player, I’m personally in favor of this. It feels like my Vita is some extension of my home consoles this way,” Romain said to GamingBolt.

Kodoku is expected to launch on the PS4 and PS Vita in 2015.
