ChAIR’s Infinity Blade series seems to finally be concluding as the third game will be receiving its final update, dubbed Kingdom Come. This update is essentially DLC and will be out on September 4th. It adds a new world, new items and weapons, new enemies and a brand new dragon to slay.

Infinity Blade is essentially one of Epic Games’ most successful franchises of all time. It’s available for iOS across three iterations and currently has more than 50 million players worldwide. In case that didn’t tip you off, it’s a fairly good game that should be experienced (if you own an iOS device that is). But what are your thoughts on the series coming to an end with Kingdom Come? There has been some talk of Shadow Complex 2 but now we have pretty much a confirmation that it will happen. Creative director, Donald Mustard has for the most part confirmed the Xbox Live Arcade sequel developed by Chair. In talks with Eurogamer, Donald stated “I’ll put it this way. More Shadow Complex isn’t a question of if, it’s a question of when. Shadow Complex is our baby and we love it dearly and, y’know, we’re working on some cool stuff.. That’s all I can say.” Donald went on to say that he is not a fan of porting games to iPhones or any iOS’s then mentioning that he “still cannot think of a way that we’d be able to bring over the precision controls [to touchscreen devices] that Shadow Complex needs to be amazing..” saying that “Shadow Complex is designed for a controller. I’m not a fan of trying to shoehorn console controls onto touch screens. They don’t feel right. You just lose so much precision.” This is something that I can respect and definitely agree with to a degree. But there you have it, Shadow Complex 2 is coming, keep it here to find out when.

Cliff Bleszinski design director over at EPIC Games, tweeted that Gears of War 3 will feature “special unlocks” for fans of other EPIC Games. These “special unlocks” will be related to games such as Unreal Tournament 3, Bulletstorm (releasing in February), Shadow Complex and even the iOS game Infinity Blade(iPod/iPad/iPhone). Bullestorm is being co-developed by ‘People Can Fly’ and Shadow Complex as well as Infinity Blade were co-created by Chair Entertainment but still brand the EPIC name on them. Cliff said you don’t need to own any of these game and that “Everybody gets the content”. While those unfamiliar with other EPIC Games with just unlock things, those who are fans of the EPIC franchise of game will get the link between the unlock and what game it’s from.  Gears of War 3 will be released in the third quarter of 2011 for the Xbox 360.

Game developers Chair and Epic Games have created an ultimate iOS RPG, formerly known as Project Sword, it is now officially called Infinity Blade.  This iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch compatible game looks awesome and I can’t wait to check it out, but in the mean time, check out the trailer above.  Furthermore, there is actually going to be DLC for this game! The DLC will include a multiplayer mode, new weapons, new environments as well as new bosses.  This is pretty cool for a portable game.
