The DLC adds two new locations with Wayne Manor and GothCorp, along with brand new environments coated in frost thanks to Freeze’s rampages. You’ll have new gadgets such as thermal Batarangs and thermal gauntlets in order to take down baddies with Frost Guns and rescue frozen hostages. You also have the Extreme Environment (XE) suit to survive the harsh temperatures. It is sadly not as awesome as the suit seen in The Court of Owls storyline.

The final DLC for WB Games Montreal’s Batman: Arkham Origins, titled “Cold, Cold Heart” will see the Caped Crusader face off against Mr. Freeze. In case you’re wondering just how the DLC fares, you can check out the first 30 minutes above. Be warned of spoilers though.

Unlike Initiations, which focused on challenge map-sized levels, Cold, Cold Heart will be more open world in nature and allow you run around a fair bit, solving puzzles and engaging minions. With Mr. Freeze around, Batman will need the new XE suit to survive the harsh weather conditions. The suit has other purposes though – Batman can activate new heat gauntlets to take out minions with freeze guns along with breaking through barriers and freeing frozen hostages.

Batman: Arkham Origins – Cold, Cold Heart will be out on April 22nd for PS3, Xbox 360 PC. The next game in the series, Rocksteady Studios’ Batman: Arkham Knight, will be out on October 14th for next gen consoles and PC.

Batman: Arkham Origins’ last DLC “Cold, Cold Heart” will be providing a new story mission for the players, as the Dark Knight goes up against classic villain Mr. Freeze. Will WB Games Montreal provide something to differentiate it from the rest of the game though, which is more or less encased in snow and ice to begin with?

Turns out, it is. A new image has been released which showcased Batman in his XE suit. Though relatively new in the universe, it reminds one of Batman’s high-tech armour seen in recently New DC 52 issues which could survive extreme temperatures. It’s the perfect suit to go to war with Mr. Freeze with and will be well worth playing in.
