With the release of the Alpha version of ARMA 3, developer Bohemia Interactive has decided to join hands with Andrew Gluck aka Dslyecxi from the Arma community group ShackTactical, to bring us a series of guides that will introduce new comers to the series to basic mechanics, infantry combat, co-operative multiplayer and mission editing. The first in line of this series gives us a general description of the game. Here it is:

The recently released Alpha build of the game consists of a limited section of the main game on the island of Stratis 20 km², while the full game will cover a massive area of 290 km². The Alpha also induces a scenario editor  as well as modding support, for testing and feeback purposes. The Beta version is due sometime in the second quarter, while the final release is slated for sometime in Q3 of this year.
