That’s as per Felipe Lima, editor-in-chief at Brazilian outlet Universo Nintendo, who recently claimed on Twitter that new information on Kingdom Hearts 4 will be shared at Disney’s annual D23 expo later this year. Prominent leaker Midori says she believes the same, but has been unable to concretely verify that information thus far.

D23 is set for August 9-11 in Anaheim, so if this information is indeed accurate, it’ll only be a couple of months until Square Enix and Disney finally share new details on Kingdom Hearts 4. A leak earlier in the year claimed that the game was targeting a 2025 release, so perhaps we could hear more about that as well.

Square Enix released some new gameplay for Kingdom Hearts 3 at D23 this weekend, showcasing the new Toy Story world along with new visual styles for Sora, Donald and Goofy. Along with targeting a 2018 release date and looking into a Nintendo Switch version, director Tetsuya Nomura said he intends for there to be one more playable character.

Speaking to IGN, Nomura noted that, “There is an intention of adding a playable character aside from Sora. Unfortunately we’re not able to disclose who it is yet, but there will be [another playable character].” This isn’t a new phenomenon for the series but the mystery behind it is certainly intriguing to say the least.

There were plenty of expectations for Kingdom Hearts 3 following its presence at D23 and Square Enix didn’t disappoint. It recently announced that one of the new worlds to appear in the sequel would be San Fransokyo, the setting for Big Hero 6. Sora and his friends will team up with Baymax in order to battle the movie’s villains (and plenty of Heartless as well, we’re assuming).

Disney producer Roy Conli talks about the inclusion of Big Hero 6 in a new video and shares a few details on what players can expect. Along with Tangled – which was showcased in the E3 2015 trailer first – Big Hero 6 marks the second brand new Disney world to feature in Kingdom Hearts 3.

Director Tetsuya Nomura and executive producer Shinji Hashimoto will be part of talk show for the same, while voice actors for Sora (Kouki Uchiyama), Riku (Mamoru Miyano) and Roxas/Ventus (Miyu Irino) will also be present according to Famitsu.
