Venturing deep into the Owls’ lair, the Bat Family has to contend with rabid warriors brought out of stasis along with the more imposing Talon assassins (including a massive brute type). How they’ll escape remains to be seen but this could be similar to the trials that Batman underwent in the comics. Now it remains to be seen if the Dark Knight returns to help his family out.

Gotham Knights is out in 2022 for Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and PC. A behind the scenes video has also been released with writer Scott Snyder and artist Greg Capullo, who created “The Court of Owls” with creative director Patrick Redding and narrative director Ann Lemay. The trailer showcases Metropolis under siege by an invading force with various aliens dropping on the surface and wreaking havoc. We already know this to be the work of Brainiac, who has several super heroes under his thrall as well. Superman is shown again and this time, Wonder Woman and The Flash can also be seen in less-than-heroic moods.

There’s a healthy dose of humor as well with the Squad encountering the Penguin and causing him to be electrocuted multiple times (though it seems the latter may also be under Waller’s thrall as well). Over on Twitter, the developer has shared a clip from the game teasing the Court of Owls, the shadowy secret organization that will serve as a major antagonist in the game. Gotham Knights’ central premise is that the Batman is (allegedly) dead, and with Gotham City facing multiple threats (including the Court of Owls), the Bat-Family – which includes, Robin, Nightwing, Red Hood, and Batgirl – has to step up and fight against deadly enemies.

Gotham Knights was originally due out in 2021, but was delayed into 2022 in March. The action-RPG is in development for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Stay tuned for all the details from the game’s showing at DC FanDome tomorrow.

So it seems more likely than ever that the first gameplay of the title will be showcased. All we know is that it’s an open world third person shooter where players can switch between each member of the Squad. The AI can handle the rest or you can have friends join in for co-op.

As for the story, it sees Brainiac invading the Earth and mind-controlling the Justice League. It’s thus up to the Squad to fight the likes of Superman and potentially save the world. It’s possible that the first ever gameplay footage debuts, showcasing exactly how each character’s abilities works. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League stars Deadshot, Harley Quinn, King Shark and Captain Boomerang as they face off against heroes like Superman who are being mind-controlled by Braniac. The title is a third person shooter and allows for switching between each character (with the AI controlling the others).

Co-op is also available and supports up to four players. Each has their own separate mechanics and progression to go with unique play-styles. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is currently slated to release in 2022 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC so stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.

The key art showcases the key characters of the game – Red Hood, Robin, Nightwing, and Batgirl. A gameplay section was shown off last year, however – the game was delayed to 2022 later following that event. This year’s DC FanDome will be streaming live in October 16th, so stay tuned for more details on that front.

In addition to Gotham Knights, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will also be making an appearance during the event. Gotham Knights is a cross-gen title and will be releasing on PS4, Xbox One, PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. Marvel also has two confirmed video games in development – Eidos Montreal’s Guardians of the Galaxy and Firaxis’ Midnight Suns.

Tomorrow will see the digital fan expo, DC FanDome. The event will be over the course of the day tomorrow and feature announcements about DC properties ranging from TV shows, movies and video games. There was hope that this would also see the announcement of Injustice 3, especially since the Creative Director and longtime member of NetherRealm Studios (who develop the Injustice games) is attending the event. But it seems unlikely at this point.

As reported via DSOGaming, WB put out a press release earlier today about the event, stating explicitly, “In case you missed it, two games will be announced. So, be sure to tune-in for those announcements and much more!” We already know the two games in question: Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League from Rocksteady and the next Batman game from WB Montreal that will most likely be titled Gotham Knights. While it’s certainly possible there could be a surprise announcement, the fact this was put out probably means we should only expect those two games.

The last game in the series, Injustice 2, released in 2017 with the last game from NetherRealm releasing in 2019, Mortal Kombat 11. So, by the typical schedule, it’s getting about time for an Injustice 3 and there’s rumors that an Injustice and Mortal Kombat are already in development for next generation consoles, just don’t expect it at tomorrow’s DC FanDome.

DC FanDome is just a few days away and Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is confirmed for reveal. Another title that was confirmed was WB Games Montreal’s next, which is interesting given how long ago the developer was teasing the game. It’s since released another teaser, this one more cryptic than the others.

Along with a GIF on Twitter, a new website called r3dakt3d.com was launched and it seems that fans will play some role in uncovering its mysteries. According to Jordan Oloman on Twitter, the website’s code indicates different radio numbers for “unlocking” the website. This seems to point to a trailer reveal on August 21st.

It’s not a bad strategy to tease the game before officially unveiling it on August 22nd at DC FanDome. Reports indicate that it’s called Batman: Gotham Knights and that, along with Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, it will be coming to Xbox Series X and PS5. WB Games Montreal – the developers of Batman: Arkham Origins – may reportedly have been working on a Suicide Squad game for a while, but after that project fell by the wayside, it didn’t take long for it to become clear to the industry at large that they had moved on to developing the next Batman game, based on the Court of Owls. That was thanks not only to relentless leaks, but also to relentless teases by the developers themselves.

Now, we know for a fact that it will finally, at long last, be officially announced very soon- later this month, on August 22, at the DC FanDome event. The full schedule for the event was recently published, confirming that WB Games Montreal’s game will be announced during a 20 minute-long panel at 10:30 AM Pacific Time. In addition to the first look at the game, the panel will also include a Q&A with the developers.

Of course, leaks less than two months ago had spilled the beans on this already. Those leaks also stated that the game is called Batman: Gotham Knights. That part remains to be officially confirmed, but that may very well turn out to be the game’s final name.

Meanwhile, we also know for a fact that Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will also be receiving its long, long-awaited announcement later that same day. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for all of those announcements, details, and more.

After years of leaks and impatient anticipation, Rocksteady finally officially confirmed last week that their next game is indeed a Suicide Squad title, and that it will be revealed at the DC FanDome event on August 22. These were, of course, details that had been previously leaked. Something else that had been leaked alongside them was the game’s name– which, too, has now been officially confirmed.

The full schedule for the DC FanDome event was recently uploaded online, and it confirms that Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad is game is called Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice league, as the leaks had said. The name does a pretty good job of explaining the game’s central premise, I’d say.

The aforementioned schedule confirms that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will be revealed in full during a 20 minute-long panel hosted by actor Will Arnett. There’s no telling how much will be shown or revealed, but with a 20 minute runtime, Rocksteady will probably (hopefully) have more to share than just a tease.
