Other titles reportedly coming to the service include Capcom's Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Edition and the Dead Rising Triple Bundle Pack.

Out of nowhere, a new title has been made available for Game Pass subscribers – Beam Team Games’ Stranded Deep. The open-world survival crafting title sees players surviving a plane crash and being stranded in the Pacific Ocean. They must craft various tools and weapons to survive while staving off hunger, thirst and dangerous creatures.

Interestingly enough, it seems that some other titles could shadow-drop onto Game Pass soon, as well. As pointed out by MauroNL on Twitter, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Edition is listed with a Game Pass discount, which usually means it’s being added to the service. It’s unknown whether this is an error, so we’ll need to wait for more details.

The DioField Chronicle also apparently had the same discount, but that’s now been removed. Dead Rising Triple Bundle Pack still has it, so it could also arrive on Game Pass later. Stay tuned for more updates in the meantime.

https://twitter.com/MauroNL3/status/1610186039263649794

Not 100% sure on DioField yet but the Store listing is counting down to the Game Pass post drop time, so 9 out of 10 times this means its added to Game Pass.

Street Fighter is the only game listed with a "With Game Pass" discount, so this also usually means added to GP library.

— MauroNL (@MauroNL3) January 3, 2023

Looks like DioField Chronicle discount got removed now (listed as ~6 hours left just now) Unsure what happened there, but lets wait and see later today. Sorry for any confusion.

The SF30th collection is still listed with the Game Pass tag for now, same as Dead Rising Triple Pack

It may not have swept the competition but Microsoft's console still offers some great games.

The Xbox One hasn’t seen as much stellar software as the PS4 over the years. However, there’s still a good line-up of console exclusives to experience. Many of them are even available on Xbox Game Pass, offering tons of hours of fun for a low price. Without further ado, let’s take a look at the 25 best Xbox One games of all time, ranked from bottom to top.

Crackdown 3

Okay, so Crackdown 3 isn’t the greatest open world game out there. But it offers a decently sized city with plenty to blow up and lots of different things to do. The Skills for Kills system encourages taking down foes with a variety of weapons and abilities, and hunting down different crime bosses while laying waste to their businesses can be mindless fun. It’s Crackdown-rific, and that may work for certain people.

Some of the most disappointing exclusive launches we've seen on the Xbox One.

Though Microsoft have been taking huge steps to make sure that their first party lineup is stronger next generation that it ever has been, a lack of quality exclusives is still one of the Xbox One’s biggest issues- bigger, in fact, than it ever was for the Xbox or the Xbox 360. Even the exclusives it does have aren’t all good, with many being major and high profile disappointments, and others being not that major, but disappointing nonetheless.

In this feature, we’ll be taking a look at fifteen such disappointing Xbox One exclusives- note that some of these games have been improved significantly since launch thanks to updates, and that we’re primarily talking about disappointing launches. Also note that for the purposes of these list, we’ll only be looking at Xbox One console exclusives.

With all that out of the way, let’s get into it.

RYSE: SON OF ROME

Ryse: Son of Rome took our breath away when it was first revealed, showcasing stunning visuals and looking like the kind of cinematic action adventure killer app that the Xbox family had always been desperately searching for. What we got was a disappointing mess that didn’t even come close to achieving what we had all hoped it would. Sure, it still looked good- but that’s about as far as it went with positives.

Sunset Overdrive, Dead Rising 3, and Skyrim among the games discounted.

Microsoft has updated the lineup of games that it will be offering on discounted prices and on sale as part of its Deals with Gold initiative, and it’s actually a fairly good list of games, available at some nice prices, including some of the biggest games available on Xbox 360 and Xbox One, including some of the most compelling exclusives the Xbox One has, such as Sunset Overdrive and Dead Rising 3.

Those are some neat games- even Final Fantasy XIII-2 is actually the best of the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy, and is not all that hard of a recommendation.

You guys going to pick any of these up? The full list of games that Microsoft is offering on reduced prices is:

Xbox One

Chariot: £6.00

Dead Rising 3: Apocalypse Edition: £23.99

Sunset Overdrive: £26.99

Sunset Overdrive Deluxe Edition: £36.59

Uh-oh.

There were some- me included- who had a genuine hope that the Xbox One might actually do well in Japan, that this console would reverse the fate of the console line in the country that has never once been interested in it.

However, all recent indications as the system has neared its launch have pointed to just the opposite happening. And now, a major Japanese retailer, Tautaya, has published its software sales results for the last week in Japan (the week that Xbox One launched there), and…

Well, it’s not pleasant, as Xbox One software seems to have been a total bust. Not a single Xbox One game cracked the top 20. Not a single one.

Here’s the full list, if you were curious:

Dragon Quest X – 3DS

Youkai Watch 2: Honke – 3DS

Toukiden: Kiwami – PS Vita

Youkai Watch 2: Ganso – 3DS

Samurai Warriors 4 – PS4

Persona 4 Arena: The Ultimax – PS3

Toukiden: Kiwami – PSP

Persona 4 Arena: The Ultimax – Limited Edition – PS3

Diablo III: Reaper of Souls – PS3

Mario Kart 8 – Wii U

Super Robot Wars OG Saga Masou Kishin F – PS3

Yoshi’s New Island – 3DS

The Last of Us Remastered – PS4

Youkai Watch – 3DS

Castlevania: Lords of Shadows 2 – PS3

Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition – PS4

The Amazing Spiderman 2 – PS4

Ultra Dimension Action Neptunia U – PS Vita

Medabots 8: Kabuto – 3DS

Medabots 8: Kuwagata – 3DS

Of Xbox One games, we know that Dead Rising 3 did the best, followed by Forza Motorsport 5.

Okay, now for some disclaimers: this may be a major Japanese retailer, but it is still only one retailer. This is not indicative of total software sales for the country at all, and there is a possibility that the console and its games actually did fairly well overall. We can’t know until we have the Media Create and Famitsu sales numbers, which we will this Wednesday. Stay tuned.

Dead Rising 3 was one of the most high profile and notable launch titles for the Xbox One, when the console launched last November. Certainly, it was the only reason that I was excited for the system, alongside Killer Instinct (which made it a better launch lineup than the PS4’s, in my eyes). However, now, Capcom is porting the game to the PC as well, and to celebrate its launch for PC players, they’ve given us a new launch trailer.

Dead Rising 3 is great- it gives us the same kind of high octane, high number zombie action that has become a hallmark of the series, and that we have come to expect, although those looking for a next gen experience, graphically or technically speaking, may be left just a little disappointed.

Dead Rising 3 is also just the latest in a long line of other Xbox One exclusives being made available on other platforms- other games include Titanfall, which launched on the PC alongside the Xbox One version.

This is happening more and more these days, as every few days, I end up reporting that some anticipated game is going to have an obscenely huge file size, especially for the system it is on. Just this year, The Last of Us: Remastered, Titanfall, inFamous: First Light, Super Smash Bros. for 3DS, and Destiny have all been reported to be absolutely huge. And now we have another one for that list- Dead Rising 3 is, apparently, absolutely gargantuan on PC. And by that, I mean that it’s 30 GB.

Now, Dead Rising 3 is a great game and everything, but it’s also nothing notable as far as video or audio fidelity goes, so I’m really not sure why it’s as heavy on the hard drive as it is. I know that the port is supposed to be unoptimized, so my assumption is that it’s a very literal file dump, with little to no compression, which is what causes it to be this huge.

Anyway, you can pre-load it on Steam now. Might as well get a headstart, maybe that way you’ll actually have the game ready to play when it officially releases.

Capcom has revealed its financials for the first quarter of the 2015 fiscal year and sales are down. This, according to the company, is “due to a lack of new major titles.” Net sales for the period of April 1st to June 30th 2014 were 9.57 billion yen ($93 million), which is down by 45.1 percent from the same quarter last year.

However, titles like Dead Rising 3 and Monster Hunter are doing well. The former has “continued to show robust sales” while Monster Hunter Frontier G Genuine has “performed steadily with major update.” The company is currently “on track to achieve full-year forecasts with improving profitability” and will improve earnings by “reducing the cost of sales.”

Despite the decreased sales, operating income was 1.26 billion yen ($12.2 million), which is up by 75.3 percent. Net income was 765 million yen ($7.4 million), marking a 7.5 percent decrease from the prior year. Capcom doesn’t have any major releases in this quarter save for Dead Rising 3 releasing for PC so we’ll see how things pan out by November.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-182448" src="https://gamingbolt.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/26.-Dead-Rising-3.jpg" alt="26.
Dead Rising 3 launched last year exclusively on the Xbox One, alongside the console itself, but we’ve known that it is coming to the PC for a fair bit now; what we haven’t known, exactly, is when it is coming to PC. Now, the Steam Summer Sale, which started yesterday, may have outed its eventual release date. The game went on sale before it released, you see, available for 25% off on pre-purchase, and the purchase also indicated that the game itself would be available on September 5.

This would mean that the game was exclusive to the Xbox One for a little over nine months.

The PC port will have troubles of its own, but on the whole, it should still become the preferred way to enjoy the game, owing to the potential for mods and user fixes, as well as shockingly cheap prices in Steam sales.

Stay tuned for more coverage.

Most likely because the higher ups don't care for PC.

Capcom pleased a lot of people when they announced that they would be bringing Dead Rising 3, the third entry in the zombie action series that had been released exclusively for Xbox One last November, to PC as well. However, any squeals of delight that there might have been soon turned to baffled groans, as everyone realized that the PC version of the game too would be running on a locked 30 frames per second.

It turns out that there is no real technical reason for this limitation of the PC port- it just appears to be general, characteristic apathy towards PC gaming from the publisher at large. A developer of the game wrote this on NeoGAF:

“The main problem with our engine is that it’s custom and in-house but we don’t have tons of resources (we make only one game series). And DR3 was developed over a generation transition to boot. All those factors together mean that we can get games out the door and design them mostly how we like, but the code incurs technical debt.

So stuff like this happens when something like 60FPS isn’t considered in advance, but the engine is too hard to change– you have to basically rewrite large components, then push out extra QA. I’m guessing the higher-ups don’t think PC is enough of a priority for an expensive drive like that. I’d fix it myself, but I get terrified whenever I get into the entrenched code for the core of anything.”

He maintained that the PC version would nonetheless be the definitive edition of the game, pointing to the simple fact that it will not struggle on PC hardware as it did on the Xbox One hardware- but this is still sure to leave a sour taste in PC gamers’ mouths.
