The Death Star DLC is now available for all players of Star Wars Battlefront and retails for $15. The DLC first released on September 20th for Season Pass owners, thus giving them two weeks of early access.

The third DLC includes five new maps focused primarily on the Death Star, two new heroes with Chewbacca and Bossk and the new mode Battle Station. This is a point based mode with multiple maps that culminates in Luke Skywalker’s run on the Death Star in A New Hope. New weapons, Star Cards and other features – like a recent patch that raised the level cap to 90 – have also been introduced.

The last major DLC pack for Star Wars Battlefront will be Rogue One: Scarif, out this Holiday season and tying into the upcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. DICE’s Star Wars Battlefront will be receiving some new DLC today in the form of Death Star and even if you’re not all that keen on partaking in the new maps or Battle Station mode (which recreates the epic trench run from the first film), there will still be some new features to avail.

For instance, the level cap has been increased from 70 to 90. Traits have been updated with new levels but they’ve also been tuned in a variety of different ways (Bounty Hunter no longer offer “50 percent power up chance on kill & Kills shave off 80 percent of cooldown” at level 3; instead, it now offers “50 percent faster card cooldowns”).

Fighter Squadron now has bot-controller A-Wings and TIE Interceptors flying around and Red 5 and TIE Advanced X1 have been added as hero vehicles. Private matches in Drop Zone have also been changed to accommodate 12 players.

Star Wars Battlefront fans who conveniently own the Season Pass can look forward to the release of the Death Star DLC on September 20th. There will also be a double XP weekend to celebrate the launch.

Along with five new maps centered on the Death Star, there will be a new mode called Battle Station wherein players take part in a reenactment of Luke Skywalker’s trench run during Episode IV: A New Hope. Whether Luke succeeds and destroys the Death Star or is taken down by Imperial Forces is all up to you.

The DLC will also include two new heroes – Chewbacca and Bossk, the former possessing a bowcaster with multi-shot ability and able to buff his teammates nearby while the latter has thermal vision for allied units on the battlefield. More information will be offered as time goes by.
