Descent, the crowdfunded prequel/reboot to the classic Interplay first person shooter franchise, was announced back in 2014 as a PC title, while later on in 2017, developers Descendent Studios signed a distribution deal with Little Orbit to be able to bring the game to the PS4 and Xbox One as well.

Now, as per a new, short gameplay teaser, Descent will be launching on the Nintendo Switch as well. The teaser is just 30 seconds long, so there isn’t too much to look at, but we do get some glimpses of its underground, atmospheric environments, as well as a few shooting sections. Right at the end, the teaser also shows the symbols of all the platforms it’s launching on, where you can also see the Nintendo Switch logo.

A release date hasn’t been mentioned, sadly, with the words “Coming Soon” being all we get in this latest trailer- although the game’s name in the video’s title is mentioned as “Descent (2019)”. So perhaps that holds some meaning. You can take a look at the teaser below.

On May 30th, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 owners on PC will receive free 30 day access to the four multiplayer DLC packs – Awakening, Eclipse, Descent and Salvation – for 30 days. This offer will start at 10 AM PT/1 PM ET/6 PM BST.

The DLC will be automatically downloaded for PC owners but you can stop the process if you desire. The DLC maps will be included in the usual playlists and add 16 maps onto the usual 12, making for 28 total maps to play on.

If you already own the DLC, then you’ll receive double XP while playing on the DLC maps. Season Pass owners will receive double XP across all multiplayer maps. Interestingly enough, the free Multiplayer DLC Trial Pack isn’t currently being offered to Xbox One, PS4, PS3 and Xbox 360 players.

Looking to try out individual DLC packs for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 on Steam? You no longer have that choice.

With the recent Descent DLC launching on Steam, the Steam listing underwent an odd change over the past few days. Take a gander at the small text just underneath the system requirements and it states, “Individual DLC map packs can no longer be purchased separately on PC. You must purchase Season Pass in order to obtain DLC map packs.”

It’s especially bad if you’ve been purchasing each DLC pack separately and trying each as you go along. Perhaps Treyarch and Activision are doing their best to eke out every last sale for Black Ops 3‘s Season Pass, what with one more DLC pack to go and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare releasing in less than three months.

Xbox One and PC players – or at least the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 fans among you – can rejoice. The latest DLC, Descent, is now available for both consoles after arriving a month earlier for the PlayStation 4.

Descent includes four new multiplayer maps – Berserk, Cryogen, Rumble and Empire. The last one, Empire, should be of particular interest to Black Ops 2 fans – it’s a remake of Raid. Then there’s the new Zombies chapter Gorod Krovi, set in Stalingrad and featuring dragons and robots. Yeah, we’re not too sure why either but it’s Call of Duty Zombies so why not?

The DLC pack retails for $15 and Xbox One players should already have access. Those on PC will have to wait till 10 AM PST later today. The content is part of the Black Ops 3 Season Pass at $50 so if you’re interested in the past DLC packs, then it’s not a bad deal.

When Black Ops 3 gets the Descent DLC next month (on PS4, that is- it will be launching for Xbox One and PC in August), it will be getting four new multiplayer maps, yes, but let’s be honest, no one cares about that- no one awesome, at any rate. No, what you really want to know about is the new addition to the ongoing Zombies mode story that the DLC will make.

Thankfully, Treyarch and Activision are aware of this- that’s why they dedicate an entire trailer to nothing but showing off Gorod Krovi, Treyarch’s newest chapter in the Black Ops 3 Zombies saga.

“After escaping the swamps of Zetsubou No Shima, the Origins characters are hurled into an alternate, war-torn Stalingrad riddled with Element 115,” the description for Gorod Krovi reads. “Our heroes will face their most dangerous enemies yet among the remnants of a battle between giant mechanized soldiers and ferocious dragons controlled by Group 935.”

Yes, because zombies and mecha soldiers weren’t enough already, now we have to face off against friggin dragons too.

I can’t wait to try this new addition out myself. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
