Nippon Ichi Software’s Disgaea 1 Complete, a remaster of Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, is already available on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. But you can now enjoy it on iOS and Android mobile devices as well. The turn-based strategy RPG is available for $32.99 on the App Store and Google Play.

The story sees the Netherworld in an uproar as Laharl, Etna and Flonne embark on a wild journey to make Laharal the next Overlord. Along with revamped high definition visuals and all previously included DLC, the mobile version also has some unique features. There’s an Auto-Battle function that will automatically play through the game and Item World states.

Battle Speed Boost allows for playing at up to 8x gameplay speed and the Cheat Shop lets you increase XP and HL received after battles. You can also auto-heal and adjust enemy difficulty. All of this is included with cloud saves that can be transferred between different platforms.

October is full of great games. Here are several you shouldn't miss.

The dreaded/anticipated Fall season is finally in full swing. October marks a number of high profile releases from long-awaited sequels to…well, even more sequels. Today we’re going to look at the top 10 releases you should be playing next month.

WWE 2K19

Another year, yet another WWE 2K title from Yuke’s and Visual Concepts. Don’t get us wrong – there’s a lot to look forward to in WWE 2K19. Showcase Mode returns, this time focusing on Daniel Bryan’s journey from humble newcomer to Wrestlemania main eventer. MyPlayer Towers allows for daily, weekly and pay per view challenges with, and MyCareer mode will also return to provide a more linear story for your custom created wrestler. With stars like AJ Styles and pre-order bonuses like Rey Mysterio and Ronda Rousey, will WWE 2K19 regain some semblance of glory when it releases on October 9th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC? Time will tell.

Call of Cthulhu: The Official Video Game

Creating a proper video game experience centred around H.P. Lovecraft’s horrifying creations is tough. Nevertheless, we’re incredibly hyped for Cyanide’s Call of Cthulhu. Players assume the role of investigator Edward Pierce as he heads out to Darkwater Island near Boston to solve the death of a family. Focusing more on investigation and conversations, Call of Cthulhu will also see Pierce struggling to maintain his sanity in the face of hallucinations and cult-like figures. Will he make it out alive? We’ll find out on October 30th when the game launches Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

LEGO DC Super-Villains

Why should good guys have all the fun? Traveller’s Tales’ LEGO DC Super-Villains is turning the tables by allowing us to control a variety of famous villains. Of course, while gameplay is similar to previous LEGO titles, complete with two-player co-op, it’s now possible to have a fully customizable character that’s integrated into the story. If battling heroes as the Joker sounds appealing – that too from the lens of LEGO humour – then LEGO DC Super-Villains might be worth checking out when it launches on October 16th for North America and October 19th worldwide for Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC.

Super Mario Party

Before the latest Smash and much before anything that could potentially keep your friendships together, the first Mario Party for Switch will be releasing on October 5th. Super Mario Party, as the name implies, brings new mini-games, the ability to play on a single Switch and even linking multiple platforms together for certain activities like Toad’s Rec Room. The jury is out on whether the gameplay actually improves on predecessors. Just try to stay friends after extended play sessions.

Mega Man 11

No, this isn’t a new Mega Man X title but Mega Man 11 looks pretty darn good with its sumptuous visuals. The same platformer shooting action that fans know and love is still here with eight Robot Masters to fight across eight stages. However, the new Double Gear system has us more intrigued. Mega Man can now activate the Power Gear system to fire a powerful shot or slow down time with the Speed Gear. At low health, a super powerful blast can be activated using both gears. Time Trials, Missions, leaderboards and more are included with the base story. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait long as Mega Man 11 releases on October 2nd for Xbox One, PS4, PC and Nintendo Switch.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4

Treyarch’s latest Black Ops breaks away from an established Call of Duty tradition by having no single-player campaign. Nevertheless, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will have multiplayer, three Zombies maps instead of one (each with their own stories) and the Battle Royale mode Blackout. Blackout has already impressed many with its level of polish and well-crafted world design. Zombies will bring mutations and challenges to keep PvE players occupied. Will the entire package hold up over a long period of time? We’ll find out when Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 launches on October 12th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Soulcalibur 6

Yet another long-awaited sequel is Bandai Namco’s Soulcalibur 6. Classic characters like Mitsurugi, Sophitia and Kilik return along with a few new characters including Geralt from The Witcher 3 as the story revisits hidden events from the first game. Soulcalibur 6 won’t just feature the same weapon-based combat we’ve always loved – it will have special moves, special slow-mo sequences and the return of ring-outs. If that weren’t enough, along with the Soul Chronicle story mode, there’s Libra of Soul, a campaign for one’s custom character. Soulcalibur 6 is out on October 19th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

Releasing just a year after Assassin’s Creed Origins, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey veers even further into RPG territory. The story this time around is set in Ancient Greece with two protagonists – Alexios and Kassandra. As a Spartan mercenary that travels away from home, you’re given the option of fighting in the Peloponnesian War for either Sparta or Athens. With more combat possibilities, an impactful dialogue and choice system, beasts like Medusa and an even larger world to explore, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey promises an even more epic adventure when it releases on October 5th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Forza Horizon 4

Perhaps the best open world racing title of this year – and several other years – Forza Horizon 4 heads to jolly old Britain for one’s Horizon shenanigans. Working one’s way up as a rookie to the Horizon roster, there are now four seasons to play through with their own respective events and Showcases that open up. Forza Horizon 4 also packs tons of vehicles, player housing, an improved progression system that constantly rewards the player, Forzathon live events, Seasonal championships and much, much more to race through. It’s out on October 2nd for Xbox One and Windows 10 PC.

Red Dead Redemption 2

We’ve been waiting since 2010 for Rockstar to deliver a sequel to Red Dead Redemption and it’s almost here. Though the story takes place before the events of the first game, Red Dead Redemption 2 is a massive step forward in terms of visuals, world design and missions. Players will control Arthur Morgan, traveling with the Van der Linde gang, fraternizing with your comrades and picking up new activities in the process. You can partake in bank heists, build your relationship with an entire town, go hunting, fish and so much more. That’s not even including the online mode which launches in November. Red Dead Redemption 2 releases on October 26th for Xbox One and PS4.

In just a couple of months, players will be able to get their hands on the remake of Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, which is called Disgaea 1 Complete. We’ve already got to see a trailer that showcased the game’s colourful cast of characters, and now a new trailer has been released, showing us the intro to the Etna mode.

For those of you who don’t know, Etna mode was a bonus game mode in the PSP version of the game, called Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness. In this mode, Etna accidentally ends up killing the protagonist Laharl right at the beginning, and you get to explore an alternate story that focuses on Etna. So for all those who were wondering, this really is the complete version of the game, with all the game modes you would expect to see.

You can check out the new trailer below. Disgaea 1 Complete is set to release in the west for the PS4 and Nintendo Switch in October, with North American audiences getting the game on October 9, and European audiences not much later on October 12.

Plus, some Nintendo Switch footage shown off as well.

NIS America’s remake of the original Disgaea, the game that kickstarted the beloved, charming, and slightly odd strategy RPG series, actually launched in Japan last week, but its release for the west is still a ways away. Ahead of that, NIS America have shared a brand new trailer for it, showing the various characters from the Netherworld we might run into through the game- including Laharl, Etna, Vyers, and, obviously, the Prinnies. The trailer, naturally, also showcases the oddball sort of humor the series has come to be known for.

Also interesting to many will be that this is the first time NIS America has shown Nintendo Switch footage of the game- so far, we have only seen footage from the PS4 version. Surprisingly enough, the Switch version seems to hold up mostly well to that, though I guess it makes sense, given that this is based off of what was originally a PlayStation 2 game.

Disgaea 1 Complete launches on the PS4 and Nintendo Switch in western markets on October 9.

The trailer shows off plenty of gameplay footage, as well as the updated visuals.

Disgaea 1 Complete, a remake of the original Disgaea game that will be coming later this year for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, has just received a brand new trailer courtesy of NIS. The new trailer shows off a lot of gameplay footage, so you should be able to get a good idea of how the game will play out- though, really, Disgaea fans already know what they are getting into- as well as how the game’s visuals have improved since Hour of Darkness (the first game) came out on the PS2 all the way back in 2001.

This specific trailer includes footage from the PS4 version of the game, and shows very sharp and clear graphics- though, of course, given that this is a redo of a PS2 game originally, there shouldn’t be that much of a graphical difference between the PS4 and Switch versions (or so you’d hope… NIS America did a good job with Disgaea 5 on Switch, though, so there’s some hope on that front).

Disgaea 1 Complete will launch on PS4 and Switch on July 26 in Japan, October 9 in North America, and October 12 in Europe.

NIS’s remake of their very first game that kicked off their cult hit and fan favorite series Disgaea, Disgaea 1 Complete, is coming out on PS4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan on July 26- and western fans won’t have to wait much after that, either. Sharing a brand new trailer today, NIS America announced that Disgaea 1 Complete launches in the west in October, with North America getting it on October 9, and Europe getting it on October 12.

There was also a brand new trailer shared for the game, which you can see for yourself below. It shows off, among other things, gameplay footage, as well as the cast and characters you will be interacting with, and at least some of the story setup.

If you are interested in turn based strategy RPGs, such as Fire Emblem or Valkyria Chronicles, you might like what Disgaea 1 Complete has to offer- if you want to get a taste of the games before then, Disgaea 5 is available now on PS4 and Switch, with a free demo for the game also available on those platforms.

Disgaea 1 Complete, a full remake of the original title in NIS’s cult hit and fan favorite strategy RPG series, is due to hit PS4 and Nintendo Switch later this year- next month in Japan, and later in the year everywhere else- so, to prepare players, returning and new, on what the game might be, the company has put out a brand new trailer for the game.

The trailer is a story trailer, meaning that people who may not be fully aware on what the first game’s story was now get a primer on what they can expect from the title. Meanwhile, returning fans will probably get nostalgic at seeing some of their favorite iconic moments from the first game recreated in the new title.

You can check out the trailer for the game for yourself below. Disgaea 1 Complete will launch on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on July 26 in Japan, and this Fall in North America and Europe.

Nipphon Ichi Software’s Disgaea 1 Complete has received its first official gameplay trailer, showcasing its improved graphics and the infamously evil cast. Check it out below. It’s interesting to look back at the original and see just how much sharper and more vibrant the remake looks.

Originally released for the PlayStation 2 in 2003, Disgaea follows the journey of Laharl, a demon who contends with numerous foes in order to become Overlord. He’s assisted by Etna, one of his vassals, along with Angel trainee Flonne, originally sent to kill Laharal’s father and now looking to see if demons actually feel emotions like love.

Disgaea 1 Complete will be releasing for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan on July 26th. It will arrive for both platforms in Fall 2018 for the West. In the meantime, Disgaea 5 Complete will be releasing on May 8th and is available to pre-purchase on Steam with a 20 percent discount. Check it out if you’re itching for a new Disgaea experience on PC.

Western release confirmed, too.

NIS America has confirmed that its remake of the original Disgaea game, Disgaea 1 Complete for western markets, will be launching on the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in Fall of this year. The game will be launching in Japan slightly earlier, in June, but I guess the slightly longer wait for western audiences at this point is a given.

There will also be a special edition for the game, that will cost $99, come with a soundtrack disc, as well as a rather provocative mousepad. Apart from that, the western release looks like ti will be pretty much the same as the Japanese one- a modernization of the original Disgaea game, for new audiences who may have jumped on board the series’ hype train late.

Disgaea 1 Complete has so far only been announced for PS4 and Nintendo Switch, but we can probably expect a PC release for the game eventually- NIS America is usually pretty good about that kind of thing.
