The trailer’s thumbnail states “Team Boss Battle Arena,” potentially indicating that it will stick to the previous game’s team-based format. However, the biggest change of all is the lack of a PC or console release – instead, this new Dissidia is coming to iOS and Android.

It’s an interesting but not unusual choice. The first game in the series debuted in 2009 for the PlayStation Portable. Perhaps Square Enix wants to return to a handheld format and use the Final Fantasy franchise’s extensive range of characters for some gacha-style monetization. Stay tuned for more details when the trailer is revealed.

Perhaps one of the best games out right now for the PSP is Dissidia Final Fantasy, and with the success of the game, a sequel is on its way, titled- Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy.

According to Shonen Jump, Final Fantasy XIII’s Lightning and Final Fantasy IV’s Kain will be playable characters, which is the only information we know of for now.

This new Dissidia is probably the mystery game Tetsuya Nomura said will be playable at TGS, so expect some more info or perhaps a trailer when TGS arrives.
