Donkey Kong has arrived in Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, courtesy of DLC. Donkey Kong Adventure is now available for Nintendo Switch users and features a brand new story and areas focused primarily on Donkey Kong. Well, mostly – he has some help in the form of Rabbid Peach and Rabbid Cranky. We challenge you to find a stranger trio in gaming.

Promising 10 hours of new gameplay, Donkey Kong Adventure adds new enemies and gameplay mechanics to further mix up the action. Donkey Kong has some interesting moves like bongo drums to use against foes as he eventually comes face to face with the imposing Rabbid Kong.

Retailing for $15, Donkey Kong Adventure can be downloaded from the Nintendo eShop now. Mario + Rabbids players who own the Season Pass will receive it for free along with all previously released DLC. Fans of Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, a surprisingly robust and fun tactical RPG starring Mario and the Rabbids, will be receiving some DLC soon with Donkey Kong Adventure. The DLC will be out on June 26th and brings the styling and profiling Donkey Kong to the roster.

Joining Donkey Kong will be Rabbid Peach and – strangely enough – Rabbid Cranky Kong as they embark on a journey to beat up some hapless enemies in a new world. Each new character brings their own unique weapons to the table – Donkey Kong has a banana-rang while Rabbid Cranky uses a crossbow of sort. If you’re familiar with Rabbid Peach from Kingdom Battle, she’ll have the same abilities here.

To make things even better, Grant Kirkhope (composer of Donkey Kong 64’s soundtrack) is also behind the music in Donkey Kong Adventure. Though it can be purchased standalone, Season Pass holders will receive the DLC on June 25th. Retailing for $19.99, the Season Pass will also offer access to previously released DLC.
