The showcase will include new announcements and updates on the following upcoming titles. DON’T NOD is confirmed, which means we’ll likely see more of Lost Records: Bloom and Rage. Similarly, 11 bit studios will appear so its sci-fi social survival title The Alters is likely to show up. Meanwhile, IGN’s post also confirms that the showcase will reveal Balatro’s next big collaboration DLC.

As per leaks, a State of Play presentation and a Nintendo Direct focused on upcoming Switch 1 games are also allegedly coming this month. The next few weeks are thus likely to be packed with new announcements. Stay tuned for more updates.

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden tells the story of Antea Duarte and Red mac Raith, who are lovers and work together as Banishers, ghost-hunters charged with protecting the living from spirits. Their world, however, is turned upside down when, following a fateful event, Antea herself becomes a spirit, kicking off a journey where Red seeks out a way to bring her back to her living form.

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden will see players exploring the titular setting of New Eden, which is haunted by monsters and spirits around every corner. Players will take them on with a combination of Red’s arsenal of weapons and Antea’s spiritual abilities. Meanwhile, the game will feature heavy use of choice and consequence mechanics, with players’ actions affecting the course of the story.

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden launches on November 7 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden focuses on two protagonists, Antea Duarte and Red mac Raith, who are not only lovers, but also work together as Banishers and fight mysterious and supernatural threats. When a tragic event resulsts in Antea becoming a spirit herself, the two embark on a journey across the haunted wilds of North America.

The trailer, which you can check out below, showcases plenty of glimpses of the combat, while also offering a taste of what the game’s choice-based storytelling will have in store.

DON’T NOD has revealed that it’s also working on a new action RPG codenamed Project 12. Details about it are understandably scant, but the developer says it will be “richer in terms of game mechanics” and allow players to “immerse themselves in even more engaging stories”, and that it will “will represent a step up in terms of production value”.

Project 12 will be out sometime after 2025, so presumably, the game isn’t too far along in development right now.

Interestingly, DON’T NOD has also confirmed that it has launched a €40 million capital increase in order to strengthen its action RPG efforts, calling the genre a “very promising segment”.

The developer has previously confirmed that it plans on releasing eight titles between 2023 and 2025, of which six will be internally developed titles, while two will be indie-developed games published by DON’T NOD. Specifically, those two games are being developed by Tiny Bull Studios and Studio Tolima.

Meanwhile, out of the six internal games, in addition to the aforementioned Banishers, DON’T NOD has also officially announced Harmony: The Fall of Reverie, while it’s also confirmed that it’s working on a new narrative adventure title.

Taking recently to Twitter, DON’T NOD emerged the first image from one of its upcoming games. Described as a narrative adventure title – presumably similar to Life is Strange – it is being developed by DON’T NOD’s studio in Montreal, which opened its doors roughly three years ago.

The image shows a retro game console sitting on a table in front of a CRT TV, while a VCR can also be seen on a shelf below the TV, suggesting an 80s or 90s setting for the game. DON’T NOD confirms it’s also looking to recruit in various positions as it continues to ramp up production on the unannounced game.

Of the six aforementioned games, only one is currently announced, that being action RPG Banished: Ghosts of New Eden, which is due out for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC sometime this year.

Square Enix has announced that Life is Strange 2 is releasing for the Nintendo Switch. It will launch for the platform in a few days’ time, on February 2, with pre-orders now available on the Switch eShop. As per the game’s eShop page, it will require 26.5 GB of free storage space- which, by Switch standards, is surprisingly hefty.

In our review of Life is Strange 2, which is the last game in the series to be developed by Don’t Nod, we awarded it a score of 9/10, saying, “The jury is out on whether or not Life is Strange 2 is superior to the first game, but it is undoubtedly bolder and more ambitious, with something meaningful to say.” Read the full review through here.

Called Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, the game is set in a dark fantasy world, with two ghost hunters and lovers taking center stage as the central protagonists. Promising an intimate and unique story in its fantasy world, Banishers is looking like quite the intriguing prospect. There’s plenty that hasn’t yet been revealed, though we do get a very brief look at gameplay at the very end of the game’s announcement trailer. Check it out below.
