The massive DLC will also bring an entirely new game mode for solo players, giving new avenues for character progression and story.

Developer Spike Chunsoft and publisher Bandai Namco have announced new DLC for Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO. Dubbed Super Limit-Breaking NEO, the DLC will bring a massive update to the roster, with more than 30 new characters, as well as new customization options and stages, among other things. The DLC will be coming out alongside a free update that will bring with it an entirely new battle system. Check out the trailer showcasing the new DLC below.

Among the new playable characters coming to Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO in Super Limit-Breaking NEO is Super 17, Bardock (Super Saiyan), Champa, Demon King Piccolo, Bardock Super Saiyan, Pikkon, Nam, Tora, Supreme Kai, Uub (Kid), King Vegeta, and Vegeta (GT). While there will be several returning characters, there will also be a few that will be making their first appearance in a Budokai Tenkaichi series game.

When it comes to customization options, the DLC will bring more than 20 new things with it, ranging from costumes to skills. This will allow players to change up how their favorite characters play in new ways, while also giving them the ability to create iconic scenes from Dragon Ball, thanks in large part to the new roster additions.

Four new stages are joining the line-up of Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO, including iconic locations like Kami’s Palace, and Stratosphere (Planet Vegeta), the latter as seen in the classic 1990 TV special Dragon Ball Z: Bardock – The Father of Goku.

Solo players will also have plenty to look forward to with the addition of a brand new game mode – Limit Breaker Journey. The single-player experience revolves around players “deepening” their “connection” with the game’s various characters. It will involve players taking on a variety of branching scenarios where they can fight, train, and partake in major events from the characters’ stories. Partaking in the game mode will reward players with unique items, and any progression built up here can be carried over into online multiplayer.

Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO was originally released back in October 2024, and since then has seen quite a bit of post-launch support. In October 2025, Bandai Namco and Spike Chunsoft celebrated the game’s massive roster of at the time 208 characters with a trailer. While it had originally launched with 182 playable characters, DLC releases brought in even more from projects like Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero and Dragon Ball Daima. Dragon Ball Legends‘ Shallot also came to the game at one point.

In other Dragon Ball-related news, October 2025 also saw the announcement of Dragon Ball FighterZ seeing an expansion to its roster. The fighting game will see the addition of Super Saiyan 4 Goku as depicted in Dragon Ball Daima. At the same time, it also got a balance patch which brought in quite a few changes, including the addition of the Z Reflect mechanic for all characters except Videl. The mechanic allows players to “parry” an opponent by perfectly timing a block for a physical strike, which then triggers a “screen freeze”, giving the player the chance to use Vanish.

Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO is available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and the Switch 2.

The popular fighting game will receive new DLC characters at some point in the future, with more details to be revealed next January.

It’s been almost a year since Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO launched for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, offering a brand-new Dragon Ball fighting experience. With the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 versions launching next month, Bandai Namco has released a trailer celebrating all the characters released thus far.

Yes, all 208 of them. Consider that the base game launched with 182 characters. Subsequent DLC packs added those from Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero and the Dragon Ball Daima series alongside Shallot from Dragon Ball Legends. But while the trailer concludes with Goku’s iconic farewell to Buu in the final arc of Dragon Ball Z, there’s the tease of more characters to come.

Bandai Namco confirmed that the next DLC is “already in the pipeline” and will add even more new fighters. While there’s no ETA, fans can expect details in January 2026.

In the meantime, Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO launches on November 14th for Nintendo Switch 1 and 2. Check out their features and gameplay here.

Along with the ability to play the title on the go, the title also includes more than 180 playable characters and motion controls.

As we get closer to the November 14 release of the Nintendo Switch version of Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO along with a Switch 2 upgrade, publisher Bandai Namco has released a new trailer for the title showcasing how the anime arena fighter will look and perform on Nintendo’s consoles. The trailer, which you can check out below, also confirms that the title will feature more than 180 playable characters from throughout Dragon Ball’s history.

The trailer also highlights some of the various game modes available in Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO, such as Episode Battle, which has players experience pivotal moments from Dragon Ball history in the shoes of eight characters, including main protagonist Goku and his rival Vegeta. Players can also make choices in Episode Battle that lead to new, never-before-seen outcomes. These new scenes deviate wildly from the original Dragon Ball story, like having Goku go Super Saiyan in his first fight against Vegeta on Earth.

Custom Battle, on the other hand, gives players the option to create brand new battles, complete with stage choices, weather effects, and even custom dialogues. These player-made battles can then be shared with other players across the world. One of the examples showcased for the Custom Battle mode is a fight between Perfect Cell and Goku in his Ultra Instinct form.

When it comes to multiplayer, Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO will feature online as well as local multiplayer. The local multiplayer is quite souped up, allowing for up to six players to partake in the same battle at the same time, assuming you have enough extra controllers or JoyCons lying around. Players with multiple Switch systems can also play local wireless multiplayer together.

As for Switch and Switch 2-exclusive features, Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO will include motion controls that allow players to do some of the in-game moves in real life. For example, players can do the movements for a kamehameha to have their in-game character pull off the move as well. The feature includes iconic moves from the Dragon Ball universe, including Vegeta’s Final Flash and even Master Roshi’s technique for capturing demons.

The trailer caps things off by revealing pre-order bonuses, which includes Gogeta and Broly, each in three different forms, as early unlocks. Along with this, pre-ordering the title will also get players access to the Dragon Ball Daima version of Goku as a playable character. When it comes to the different versions of the game, along with the Standard Edition, Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO will also be available in a Deluxe Edition and an Ultimate Edition.

The Deluxe Edition of Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO includes the base game along with DLCs and bonuses from the Season Pass. The Ultimate Edition includes all of the same content, as well as the ability to summon Super Shenron, as well as a host of cosmetic items like Goku’s Dragon Ball Super outfit with the Power Pole, and a set of Emote Voices.

Aside from the impending Switch and Switch 2 release, Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO is also available on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Bandai Namco has also confirmed that Switch 1 owners can update to the Switch 2 version free of charge with progress carrying over.

After months of speculation about a Switch 2 release for Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO thanks to being spotted on the ratings board for Saudi Arabia, Bandai Namco has now confirmed that the arena fighter is making its way to Nintendo Switch 1 and 2. The announcement was made with a trailer, which you can check out below.

Developed by Spike Chunsoft, those who pick the Switch version can update to the Switch 2 version, the latter offering higher resolutions and smoother frame rates, for free. The trailer does warn that some save data for players transferring their Switch copy of the game over the Switch 2 might not make it all the way. Game progress, unlocked characters and items can be transferred with no problems, thankfully. On the other hand, data from Battle Replays, Custom Battle: Edit Data, and Online Battle Records will not make the jump.

The Switch 2 version of Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO will be able to play online or offline multiplayer with other Switch 2 players only and doesn’t support cross-play with those on Switch 1. Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO launches on November 14th for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.

Bandai Namco has credited Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO and Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree for driving growth this year.

In its latest earnings report for the previous fiscal year, Bandai Namco has revealed how well some of its titles did. As caught by Automaton, the company has seen its profits go up by an incredible amount – 995 percent – owing in large part to the success of the Elden Ring DLC Shadow of the Erdtree, as well as the release of Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO.

While profits saw a great jump, overall revenue had increased over the previous year by 22.3 percent, amounting to roughly $3.16 billion. This figure is well over the company’s own forecast of $2.57 billion in revenue. On the profits side of things, the company made $475 million, which was also well over the forecasted $208 million in profits.

According to the earnings report, Bandai Namco’s revenue was helped quite a bit by major console releases. Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO, for instance, had sold more than 5.4 million copies. Overall sales of console games has been on the rise for Bandai Namco, with the company reporting 42.6 percent more sales than it had seen in the previous year.

When it comes to its mobile titles, Bandai Namco is also seeing growth there, albeit at a slower rate. The company has reported a growth of 3.5 percent in sales year-on-year, with licensed titles based on popular manga and anime like Dragon Ball and One Piece, as well as other titles like Gakuen Idolmaster being major parts of the growth.

Bandai Namco had revealed back in November that it was seeing great revenue increases thanks to Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO, which the company had also confirmed had sold more than 3 million copies in its first 24 hours of release. At the time, the company had reported net sales having increased 21.8 percent over the previous year, as well as a 188 percent increase in profits.

Back in June 2024, Bandai Namco had confirmed that Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree had sold more than 5 million copies. The sales figure came despite the backlash the DLC was seeing at the time, being perceived by many as being unfairly difficult. Developer FromSoftware had since responded to the complaints with a series of patches that brought down some of the game’s difficulty, however.

For more details about both titles, check our our reviews for Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, as well as Dragon Ball: Sparking!
Bandai Namco and Spike Chunsoft's acclaimed 3D arena fighter could soon be headed to Nintendo's upcoming next-gen console.

The Nintendo Switch 2 already has several major third-party titles lined up for its launch and the weeks and months beyond. As you’d expect, that list won’t stop expanding anytime soon, and another title may have been added based on a recent age rating.

As shared by the body on Twitter, Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Media Regulation has rated Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO for the Nintendo Switch 2. The 3D arena fighter hasn’t yet been officially announced for the upcoming next-gen console, though Bandai Namco and Spike Chunsoft might have news to share in the not-too-distant future. Whether we can expect the fighter to be available for the Switch 2 upon release remains to be seen.

In our review of Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO, we awarded it a score of 8/10, saying, “Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO isn’t perfect, with Episode Battle falling somewhat short in its ambitions, but it’s an excellent recreation of the series’ power fantasy.” Read the full review through here.

Daima Character Pack 1 will add several new playable fighters in the form of Goku (Mini) Super Saiyan, several versions of Vegeta (Mini), and others.

Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO already had a ridiculously massive roster of fighters even upon its release in October, but Spike Chunsoft and Bandai Namco are keeping the content mill chugging for the arena fighter.

Another new DLC pack, dubbed Daima Character Pack 1, is going live for Sparking! ZERO later this week, and it will add another eight new playable fighters to the game’s already massive roster. As the DLC’s name suggests, its additions will be characters from Dragon Ball Daima.

Specifically, players can look forward to playing as Goku (Mini) Super Saiyan, Glorio, Majin Kuu, Panzy, Vegeta (Mini), and multiple other versions of the latter- specifically, Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2, and Super Saiyan 3. Check out the trailer below for a look at what the DLC will bring when it launched on April 24.

Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. As of February, it has sold over 5 million copies worldwide.

The first mainline title in the Sparking! series since 2007 is now the fastest-selling console title in Dragon Ball history.

Spike Chunsoft’s Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO, the newest title in Bandai Namco’s fighting series, has sold five million copies since launching in October 2024. It’s cemented its status as the franchise’s fastest-selling title on consoles, with over three million sales in 24 hours as its last milestone.

As a successor to the Budokai Tenkaichi (Sparking! in Japan) series, Sparking! ZERO features a massive roster of characters from across the franchise, including Dragon Ball Z, GT, Super, and the movies. Episode Battles focused on the events experienced from specific characters’ perspectives, though some, like Goku, had more extensive content.

Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO also introduced Custom Battles, where players could create and share fights online. Since launch, it’s also received DLC based on the film Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, adding Gohan (Beast), Orange Piccolo, Cell Max, Gamma 1 and 2, and more.
Xbox had a slow start this year but clenched it in the hand with multiple big titles. Check out 15 of the best titles to play.

When compared to the first-party outputs of other platforms, the Xbox Series X usually comes up short. However, 2024 saw significant improvements with several high-profile exclusives. Of course, there are plenty of third-party titles worth playing on the console as well, so without further ado, check out the 15 best Xbox Series X games of 2024.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024

Launch issues, Career Mode bugs, performance problems (more so on PC than console) – even with all that in mind, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is a worthwhile new addition to the Xbox library. The sheer range of new aircraft combined with new activities in Career Mode, World Photographer – including walking outside your plane in multiple rich biomes – and additional aircraft systems offer a rich experience. And when it works, there’s nothing quite like soaring the skies and peering down all creation.
