But seriously, keep the barf bag handy.

DICE has released a new teaser for the upcoming fourth DLC to Battlefield 4, namely Dragon’s Teeth. The teaser is short, roughly 30 seconds, and contains many quick cuts along with an over-abundance of shaky cam. Fortunately, some of the bigger gameplay elements are easy to discern. Check it out above.

We get to see the Ballistic Shield, one of the new gadgets, in action along with the four new maps and combat. Levolution appears to be in action as you’ll be able to derail an entire train, presumably on top of your enemy’s head. DICE also promises new weapons, field assignments and a new gameplay mode for players.

Dragon’s Teeth releases on July 15th for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4 and PC users who have access to Battlefield Premium. For non-Premium users, it will be out on July 29th. Will you be getting the DLC? Let us know below what you think of the teaser as well.

Releasing on July 29th for regular consumers.

Battlefield 4: Dragon’s Teeth was originally leaked to be releasing on July 15 for Battlefield Premium subscribers with non-Premium subscribers supposedly receiving the game on July 29th. Oddly enough, though this was later redacted (aka, the tweet being deleted by Origin), EA has gone ahead and confirmed the game’s release date as July 15th for Premium users and July 29th for regular users.

So yes, that just happened.

Dragon’s Teeth is the fourth DLC pack for Battlefield 4’s multiplayer and adds four new maps – Lumphini Garden, Pearl Market, Propaganda and Sunken Dragon – along with five new weapons. Players can also take advantage of the Ballistic Shield and a remote controlled ground vehicle called the R.A.W.R. There will also be ten new assignments to fulfil and a brand new ChainLink game mode.

Will you be picking up the Dragon’s Teeth DLC when it releases next week? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Origin goofs up and reveals that DLC will be out for Premium subscribers on July 15th.

EA indicated that Battlefield 4: Dragon’s Teeth, the next multiplayer DLC for the first person shooter, might be delayed. However, it’s still set to release this month. The official Origin Twitter stated that the release date would be July 15th for Battlefield Premium users.

This release date was subsequently pulled, with the modified tweet simply indicating a discount and early access for Battlefield Premium users. Don’t believe us? Check the screencaps of the tweets in question below (courtesy VG247).

So yes, that just happened. As of now, neither DICE nor EA has offered any official comment. Dragon’s Teeth is a fairly significant DLC for the game, packaging new maps, new weapons like the Ballistic Shield and much more so expect some kind of announcement on the release date soon.

Are you looking forward to Dragon’s Teeth? How has your Battlefield 4 experience been in recent times after the multitude of patches? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

DICE is looking to improve the key Battlefield experience further for fans.

Battlefield 4 may still be in the process of being fixed, but DICE is working hard to improve the experience and wipe out any remaining glitches. DICE’s Vincent Vukovic recently posted on the Battlefield blog about different changes and improvements the studio will be implementing, with netcode being the most important.

“Making improvements to the ‘Netcode’ in Battlefield 4 has been a top priority for us. Some of the items we’ve been specifically looking at is how to decrease the feeling of getting killed when behind cover and getting killed without initially seeing a damage indicator. The improvements we did were released in June, and we’re looking at testing out additional fixes during the coming months.”

Vukovic also revealed that the Ballistics Shield in the Dragon’s Teeth DLC won’t be able to kill enemies in one hit and can’t block or deflect armour piercing bullets. He also talked about improving Rush mode for maps like Siege of Shanghai, Zavod 311 and Operation Locker. In these, there’s no Commander Mode along with reduced radar sweeps. There will also be some changes implemented in these maps such as placing MCOM stations and new cover positions.

New weapons, new maps, a new game mode and much more.

DICE has posted the official description for the next Battlefield 4 DLC, titled Dragon’s Teeth. It will include four new maps – Lumphini Garden, Pearl Market, Propaganda and Sunken Dragon. Propaganda will take place in North Korea while Sunken Dragon will allow players to drain the lake and drive vehicles through it. There will also be five new weapons. Dragon’s Teeth will also include some new gadgets namely the ballistic shield gadget and the R.A.W.R. ground vehicle (which can be operated remotely).

The official description states that you’ll be able to, “Wreak havoc in a floating restaurant or drain the lake opening up for a frontal vehicle assault, all while the battle rages between the modern high rises of Sunken Dragon. Fight among the huge monuments of despots in the grey concrete Propaganda. Wage wars within the bustling alleyways and upon the rooftops of Pearl Market. Cruise with fast-moving PWC’s on the canals in the pristine park to get the upper hand in the blazing infantry battle of Lumphini Garden.”

There will also be a new Chain Link mode along with new assignments and unlocks. As always, Battlefield Premium subscribers will receive the DLC before regular consumers. We’ll have more information on the release date in the coming weeks.

EA and DICE’s Battlefield 4 is now finally in a somewhat playable state, and that means the DLC monetization machine is now in full swing. MP1st reports that the fourth of five planned expansion packs for Battlefield 4 (presumably all hitting before the release of Battlefield Hardline, and the subsequent shifting of post launch support to it), Dragon’s Teeth, has been spotted with a release date listing for July. Meaning that we could be playing it as early as ten days from now.

Dragon’s Teeth will introduce four new multiplayer maps, all set in Asian cities, alongside a heavily armed remotely operated ground vehicle, and a two-handed ballistic shield. It will also reportedly add new weapons, a new mode called Chain Link, and apparently a slew of other new features as well.

It will be sold standalone, although if you are subscribed to Battlefield Premium (for $50 a year), you should get it automatically, and for free.

Riot Shields are front and center in this new screenshot

DICE has released the first screenshot for the next Battlefield 4 DLC, Dragon’s Teeth. You can check it out above and right away, the new Riot Shield that DICE played up several months ago is seen in action.

Dragon’s Teeth will reportedly feature four new maps – Sunken Dragon, Propaganda, Pearl Market and Lumphini Garden – along with a new game mode called Chainlink that will play like Conquest. That’s not all though – an MP1st reader recently pointed out that the tower in the background of the above screenshot is the Juche tower in Pyongyang, North Korea. Will we see North Korea join as a faction this time around? It would certainly be intriguing.

Battlefield 4: Dragon’s Teeth is expected to arrive in the next few months and will be heading to PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Stay tuned for more details on the DLC and let us know what you think of the first screenshot in the comments below.

If you thought DICE was done adding new weapons and items into Battlefield 4, you’d be wrong. Senior animator Ryan Duffin has recently revealed at GDC 2014 that the next DLC, Dragon’s Teeth will have two-handed ballistic shields. It’s not like Call of Duty’s shields though – you won’t be able to shoot from behind cover – but it is useful for bashing players a few feet away from you.

As reported by Polygon, Duffin stated that, “There was a lot of resistance at first but the more we assessed it, the more we realized it was a better feature. It turns out that stopping bullets in a first-person shooter is a ton of fun. We’re confident that it will create a new dynamic for the game.”

There were attempts to add shields before but as Duffin pointed out, “We didn’t have enough memory. It added about a megabyte, but a megabyte on a 2006 console is a lot, so it didn’t work out.” This meant constraints on the animation.

Dragon’s Teeth is still a ways off though – for now, Battlefield 4 will have the Naval Strike DLC landing on March 18th for Premium subscribers.

DICE Stockholm's last DLC will be Naval Strike, due in late March.

DICE has seemingly resumed production of Battlefield 4 DLC, with Naval Strike due in late March. However, while DICE Stockholm has been handling development of the main game, it seems that DICE LA will handle development duties for the last two DLC packs in the series.

This was confirmed by “Darklord”, a Battlelog developer, on Reddit. DICE LA has been responsible for working on Second Assault, which launched first with the Xbox One edition of Battlefield 4. DICE Stockholm’s last DLC will be Naval Strike and it will then focus on the main game.

Late last year, it was decided that DICE would cease development on all future DLC and even Star Wars: Battlefront to focus on patching the number of bugs inherent in Battlefield 4. Whether that goal has been achieved or not really depends on the players, but at least there seem to be less cases of players being unable to get online. What are your thoughts? Let us know below.
