It probably comes as no surprise at this point to see another video game related show being pushed back to a later date. Every original digital event from this week has been pushed to the next, and now it seems the next week is being affected too as EA has decided to move their EA Play later down the road.

As announced via their official Twitter account, EA Play Live 2020 is now being delayed by a week. It was originally scheduled to be on June 11th and will now instead take place on the 18th. You can read more about the original event through here.

It’s understandable, at this point, as just about everyone else has moved their showing up by at least a week. We don’t know what was planned at the EA Play Live event, but there’s all kinds of things the company could show off. How about some Mass Effect remasters? Maybe a new Star Wars… or two? We’ll just have to wait and see.

Amid all the digital events taking place in the coming months, not to mention Microsoft’s Inside Xbox tomorrow that showcases Xbox Series X gameplay, there’s the Summer Game Fest 2020. Revealed by The Game Awards creator Geoff Keighley, the Summer Game Fest will run for four months with playable demos, teasers and big reveals. One of them seems to be coming on May 12th.

In an early schedule that was recently released, Keighley notes tomorrow’s Inside Xbox taking place at 8 AM PT. On May 12th at 9 AM PT, there will be a “surprise game reveal”. What could it be? Given the number of publishers involved with the Summer Game Fest, your guess is as good as ours.

Other upcoming events include the The Steam Festival: Summer Edition on June 9th to 14th; Cyberpunk 2077’s Night City Wire on June 11th; and EA Play Live 2020 on June 11th. July 11th will see Warframe’s TennoCon 2020 taking place. And of course, there’s Gamescom 2020: Opening Night Live on August 24th which Keighley will host to cap off the festival. Expect more events and reveals to be added to the schedule over the coming months.

In the wake of several digital events this Summer, Electronic Arts has confirmed that EA Play Live 2020 will also be going digital. It will stream live on June 11th at 4 PM PT. The publisher noted on Twitter that there would be “world premieres, news and more.”

Aside from this year’s iterations of FIFA and Madden, it’s anyone’s guess what EA could have to showcase. Perhaps we’ll see Star Wars: Project Maverick, EA Motive’s next title that was rumored to be “very unique”. Maybe Respawn Entertainment will announce a sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

We may even hear about the next Battlefield, which is confirmed to be releasing in 2021 for PC, Xbox Series X and PS5. Heck, maybe even BioWare will provide a tease of its revamped version of Anthem? One can certainly hope. Regardless, expect more information from the publisher on what to expect in the weeks.
