You can now pre-order the company's next system - whatever it is - in Australia.

Nintendo recently announced plans to develop mobile games featuring its popular intellectual properties in collaboration with DeNA. On top of this, the company also announced plans for a new core system codenamed the NX. Nothing is known about the system at this point other than Nintendo and DeNA jointly developing “a new membership service, which encompasses the existing Nintendo 3DS, Wii U, the new hardware with a brand new concept NX, smart devices and PCs.”

So it’s a bit odd to note that EB Games Australia is accepting pre-orders for the NX. Think about it – a new system which doesn’t even have an official name can be pre-ordered.

While we don’t doubt that it will eventually release, EB Games Australia may be jumping the gun a little too early. That or it believes the concept is strong enough to warrant enough consumer participation at this stage, without an official name or other details. What do you think? Let us know in the comments.

Good news, wannabe gang leaders turned Presidents: Deep Silver has announced that if you pre-order Saints Row IV from either GameStop or EB Games, you’ll actually be able to play as actual Presidents of the United States. Or their character skins at least.

And who are the lucky candidates? Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Abraham Lincoln and George Washington will be available in the Presidential Pack to those who pre-order and purchase the game by August 22nd – with the official release on August 20th for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. You can also pick up two other bonus skins, namely the Iron Rogue and Queen Amazonia.

Of course, those who pre-order the game will receive the Commander in Chief Edition for Saints Row IV. You should also pre-order the game because it’s friggin’ awesome, fun and above all, one of the best games of the year. Check out our review for the game here.

Earlier Nintendo had said that the Wii U will be expensive. “This thing is not going to be cheap,” said Satoru Iwata, President of Nintendo, and he also hinted that it will be priced more than 20,000 Yen ($250) in Japan.

According to the latest reports, EB Games Australia has priced the Wii U at $600.

Now before you say it is bullshit, EB Games have been pretty accurate in the past. Their 3DS price was set at $350, and it launched at that same price in Australia.

When calculating it in US$ it comes out at approx. $605, as per the current exchange rates. Is that a fair price to pay for a next-gen console? According to me it is. But Nintendo have always priced their hardware low for mass market penetration.

Check out the EB Games listing over here.

In related news, Carrefour, the biggest French Mall, had priced the console at €450, and that works out to approx. $600 as well. Considering they’re using an innovative Tablet controller, looks like this thing won’t be cheap at all.

And currently Zavvi has it at 400 pounds, which is $600 again.

After the 3DS fiasco, I really don’t think they will price it that high, but you never know. This is what Iwata had to say regarding the mistakes they made with the 3DS and about their plan for the Wii U.

“We are also planning to launch the Wii U, which is the successor to the Wii, during the next fiscal year. We would like to show the final format of the Wii U at the E3 show next year,” revealed Iwata.

“As we learned a bitter lesson with the launch of the Nintendo 3DS, we are trying to take every possible measure so that the Wii U will have a successful launch.”

Tell us what you think in the comments section below.
