Remember a few days where everyone was speculating that Emagon was a new game that is under development for the PlayStation 4. Turns out it was nothing but viral marketing for the PlayStation 4 20th Anniversary Special Edition. As Kaz from Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes puts it…played like a damn fiddle, right?

Sony hyped it as “the best kept PlayStation secret!” Apparently the unit will be priced at 649 Euros which is pretty expensive in our opinion. And to top that there are only 350 units available in Spain. The special PlayStation 4 edition will only be available in limited quantities across the world which is 12,300.

This week, the PlayStation celebrates a special occasion. The venerable little-box-that-could turns 20 this week. In partial celebration a blog post on PlayStation Spain reads, “As you know, PlayStation turns 20 years old this week. This is a very special day for us, we thought never get as far from the Japanese release of our beloved PSOne back in 1994. So we want to offer something to rise to the occasion.”

What they had to offer was a teasing trailer for an upcoming game titled Emagon. Whilst it’s unlikely that the provided trailer is gameplay footage(it seems very unlikely), it does have an air of mysticism about it that makes me wonder what it could be. Coming on December 5th, we will apparently discover “the best kept PlayStation secret!”

I do hope the secret is something worth learning and not some trite “our secret is you!” or some such nonsense. Either way, Emagon is hopefully coming, fingers crossed it’s something good.
