Season of Blood sees players taking on a vampire army using vampiric powers. Check out the latest gameplay trailer below, thankfully lacking in errors.

A new seasonal quest sees players working with the vampire hunter Erys and stopping the Vampire Lord. After defeating Elite Vampires, players can form three Pacts to gain blood magic powers. The new Blood Harvest event is also available, manifesting in two global events and seven events in Dungeons.

Five new end-game bosses have been added, which grant Unique and Uber Unique items, quality of live improvements like gem storage, Renown rewards from Eternal and Seasonal characters carrying over, and more. Elemental Resistances also finally work and reworks for damage modifiers like Vulnerable and Critical Strike are also available. Stay tuned for more details on Season of Blood as it unfolds.

While it has plenty to get excited about, from the five new Uber Bosses and Vampiric Powers to the quality of life changes, the developer seemingly got ahead of itself in the hype. It released a trailer for the season discussing some of the changes and got several facts wrong.

Though it’s been removed, Raxxanterax of Maxroll.gg analyzed the trailer on YouTube and discussed what was wrong. First, there are improvements to the dungeon layouts, with the “Before” and “After” images swapped. A comparison of the improved mount speed is also provided but offers no discernible difference.

Worst of all are the calculations for improvements to XP, with some addition done instead of multiplication for the base amount. Blizzard hasn’t commented on the errors, but if the trailer goes live again, it’s hopefully with these errors fixed. Stay tuned for updates in the meantime.

Of course, there’s certainly been some controversy and backlash against the action RPG since then, but it seems it’s continuing to attract players at a healthy rate.

Recently at Gamescom Opening Night Live, Blizzard unveiled Diablo 4’s second season of content, Season of Blood, which is due out in October. While on the stage to provide new details on what the season will bring, Diablo GM Rod Fergusson also revealed that the game has now hit 12 million players, which is an addition of another couple of million over the last month and a half or so. All players collectively have also logged over 1.3 billion hours of gameplay.
