Witness a new combat system, new areas and more.

The first paid DLC for Final Fantasy 15 is now live with Episode Gladiolus on PS4 and Xbox One. This follows the most recent free update which offers an alternative route through Chapter 13 with, hilariously enough, Gladiolus.

As for Episode Gladiolus, it’s available for $4.99 and allows for a more combat-heavy style with Gladio. You’ll be defending and counter-attacking but Gladio hits back harder with the more punishment taken.

The overall story, lasting some 2 to 3 hours, sees Gladiolus losing against high commander Ravus and teaming with Cor to build up his strength, eventually challenging the Gilgamesh, the Blademaster.

Along with telling a new story from Gladio’s perspective and featuring a new combat system, players will have a chance to explore new parts of Eos. There are also special items that can be used in the main game but only available to those who finish Episode Gladiolus. If that weren’t enough, you have Score Attack and Final Trial as new game modes.

According to a recent preview, that is.

Final Fantasy 15 will be receiving some new content later this month with Episode Gladiolus, the first real DLC for the game that sees Gladio as the starring character and embarking on his own quest to become stronger. The DLC will cost you $4.99 if you didn’t go for the Season Pass but how much game time can you expect from it?

According to Game Informer who recently previewed the DLC, it will take “2 to 3 hours to complete”, which sounds about right considering the price and overall scope of the story. Then again, playtime could vary from person to person. The good news is that Gladio is apparently fun to play with, relying primarily on offense as he builds his Rage meter for more powerful attacks.

Final Fantasy 15 has quite a bit of content planned for the year including other character episodes, multiplayer DLC and improvements to the base game. What are your thoughts on Episode Gladiolus and will you be picking it up? Let us know in the comments below.

Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 15 will receive its first alternate character DLC on March 28th with Episode Gladiolus. This DLC will focus on Gladio who players can control and take part in a new story with.

The DLC will retail for $4.99 standalone and is included with the Season Pass. It will take place after the group meets Ravus where Gladio leaves the group to become stronger alongside Cor. That involves fighting “larger than life monsters” in his journey.

Interestingly enough, each piece of DLC will be sold separately going forward. This includes Episode Gladiolus, Episode Ignis, Episode Prompto and Multiplayer Expansion: Comrades. There will also be free updates including the promised story improvements for Chapter 13.

Will you be picking up the Episode Gladiolus DLC? What are your thoughts on the content that Final Fantasy 15 has received thus far? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more information on future updates.
