As part of the Sonic’s Adventure event, Fall Guys is getting a new level called the Bean Hill Zone—a play on the traditional Sonic game opening level being titled Green Hill Zone.

The event-specific game mode, takin place in the new Bean Hill Zone map, revolves around collecting rings. Players have to race to collect as many rings as possible. Those who don’t get enough rings to qualify for the next round are eliminated. The map features many obstacles, including conveyor belts and log bridges.

Players who get 1000 points win the game. There are other rewards for lesser points as well. Here’s the full list:

• Sonic Nameplate – 200 points
• 200 Kudos – 400 points
• Sonic Pattern – 600 points
• 400 Kudos – 800 points
• Sonic Sneakers – 1000 points

Going along with the event are four new costumes that players can get. The costumes are based on Sonic, Super Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Eggman.

The mysterious announcement in question will be revealed on 16th May at 18:00 BST. Interested fans can tune into the developer’s YouTube and Twitch channels at the aforementioned time to know what’s in store. Given how long the game’s Xbox and Switch versions have been in development (Mediatonic said they were finalizing those ports in February), it’s most likely that the announcement will reveal more information about the release date for those versions.

That said, the announcement could also be about a major content update. It’s also possible that Fall Guys could go free-to-play (although that seems highly unlikely). Of course, it’s all just speculation and should be taken as such. Until then, stay tuned for all updates on the matter.

Earning 100 Points in the Challenges will confer an Astro Pattern; 200 Points nets an Astro Nameplate. You’ll get the Lower Costume at 400 Points, the Captain Astro Nickname at 600 and the Upper Costume at 800 points. Finally, at 1000 Points, you get Astro’s Wave Emote. The Challenges are live from tomorrow until March 13th.

T-Rex can be purchased from March 10th to 13th, requiring five Crowns for the Upper Costume and an additional five Crowns for the Lower Costume. In a recent blog update, the developer has revealed that Fall Guys‘ Xbox and Nintendo Switch versions are in the final stages of development. Mediatonic hasn’t revealed a release window just yet, so fans should keep expectations in check accordingly. In addition to this, Fall Guys now features cross-platform support across PC and PlayStation with its latest mid-season update.

“We know that news regarding Fall Guys on Nintendo Switch and Xbox is highly anticipated,” Mediatonic says. “We’re finalising development, and though it isn’t within this update, it’s still coming! Until then, we’re super excited to enable this cross-platform functionality for our existing platforms as a first step.”

A new game mode called Sweet Thieves is also being added to the game, wherein a team of Thieves has to steal all the candy in a level while the Guardians have to catch them in the act and put them in jail. Players can even resort to walking in this mode, which should help with being sneaky. Much like every other update, this one also comes with a bevy of performance improvements and fixes. As it turns out, it won’t be in 2021. In an update published on the official Fall Guys website talking about the launch of the game’s sixth season, Mediatonic confirmed that the game’s Switch, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One versions won’t be arriving until 2022, but provided assurances that those versions are one of the studio’s top development priorities. Contrary to what some rumours are saying though, the Switch and Xbox launch isn’t tied to the launch of season 6.

“We know everyone’s excited about Fall Guys coming to Nintendo Switch and Xbox, with good reason,” Mediatonic wrote. “There’s been a lot of speculation on social media connecting these new console releases to the Season 6 launch and we want to clarify that that’s not the case so no one’s left confused looking for the game on these platforms. Thank you for being patient with us, it’s one of our top priorities in active development and we can’t wait to share more details with you in 2022.”

With no details on when in 2022 the game will arrive on additional consoles, or when exactly we can expect details on that, for now, all we can do is wait. Those who’re already playing Fall Guys on PlayStation and PC, however, can dive into season 6, which is now live.

Initially meant to be a Final Round, Pipe Dream is all about pipes that vacuum players in before depositing them into various maze structures. Junior designer Max Boyle, who created Lily Leapers and Gate Crash among other Rounds, originally came up with the idea and it was all about choosing the best route to the end. Following playtests, the racing element was removed and a focus on random mystery was provided instead.

Pickard also provides a few tips for the Round, noting that the pipe’s pathways change every time it’s loaded up. As such, it’s advised to get a head start on the competition and examining the different mini-arenas to properly conquer the Round. Furthermore, once you’re ejected from a pipe, you can dive in mid-air and obtain a bit more distance.

Along with a trapeze that players can hang and jump from, there are new levels and a new mini-game which sees players fighting to get inside of a glowing circle. Giant fans and cannons must be dealt with while wind-tunnels will whisk players away. And if Big Yeetus gave you nightmares, then there appears to be a section where three of them must be bypassed so be prepared.

New cosmetics, wraps and much more await including outfits from Sackboy: A Big Adventure and Ghost of Tsushima. The former is earned by competing in Sackboy’s Challenge from December 1st to 5th and the latter’s outfits are exclusive to the new Fame Path. Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is currently available for PS4 and PC with Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch releases coming later this year.

A smattering of new outfits has been showcased, from a mummy and cowgirl to pirates, Indiana Jones and Spelunky. Six new rounds are being added to the experience – Stompin’ Ground, Lost Temple, Pegwin Pool Party, Bubble Trouble, Lily Leapers and Treetop Tumble. Among the new features being added are Squads along with limited-time Duos and Trios modes.

Limited Time Events are also being added and provide their own rewards, including cosmetic bits that can be earned. Interestingly, the trailer also hints at a Bean behind the curtain, monitoring the Fall Guys’ various rounds. Perhaps this is part of a larger overarching story? Time will tell so stay tuned for more details when Season 5 launches tomorrow.

Fall Guys leaker KrxnkyFG, who has leaked previous season contents in the past, has given us an early look at the latest season collaborations. The big news for many will be a lot of Sony-themed costumes are here with Ratchet and Clank, Astro Bot as well as Sackboy from the LittleBigPlanet series. It also seems there will be costumes taken from Kena: Bridge of Spirits and Spelunky. While that’s the biggest skins from the gaming world, there is more, including something from Disney’s The Jungle Book. There’s also plenty of non-property cosmetics, all sharing a summer theme. You can check them all out in the video below. As always with leaks and datamining, it goes under rumors until something official is announced, but there’s little reason to believe this isn’t legitimate.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is available now on PlayStation 4 and PC. The game is set to eventually come to Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and Switch, but was delayed with no timeframe currently being targeted.

The collaboration only seems to extend to the costume though so that snazzy stage inspired by the Copied City in NieR: Automata isn’t included in-game. 2B is only one of many collaboration costumes that have graced the party title. The likes of Cuphead, DOOM, Godzilla, Tron and many more have also been added since launch.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is currently available for PS4 and PC. It was slated to release for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch this Summer but faced a delay. In the interim, new features like cross-platform play, Custom Lobbies and Player Reporting have been added. Stay tuned for more details on a new release date in the meantime.
