Bethesda’s next big update for Fallout 76, Steel Dawn, was slated to go live on December 1st. However, when Xbox One players were able to download it suddenly, the development team opted to release it for players on all platforms. This is essentially the first part to the Brotherhood of Steel storyline that will continue with Fractured Steel.

Along with new NPCs and locations, players will also be able to earn new weapons and armor. Of course, characters need to be level 20+ and complete the “Welcome to the Neighborhood” quest to partake in the new content. C.A.M.P. Shelters are also being introduced and allow for building instanced interiors.

New Daily Ops will be the ticket to earning new weapons and armor, and negative effects caused by Hunger and Thirst have been removed. Players will now receive buffs if they’re well-fed and hydrated, which should remove some of the tedium inherent. For more details on Steel Dawn, check out the patch notes below.

• Save Those Atoms: (Coming December 1) Already have some of the items in an Atomic Shop bundle? No problem! Bundle prices now lower automatically if you already own any items they contain.

Bethesda’s next big update for Fallout 76 is Steel Dawn, which sets up the Brotherhood of Steel’s introduction to Appalachia. Steel Dawn is the precursor to Fractured Steel, offering new NPCs to interact with, new areas to visit, new Brotherhood of Steel weapons and armor, and so on. When Fractured Steel arrives, one can also expect Perk Loadouts, C.A.M.P. Shelters and Expeditions, along with new Daily Ops. Holiday Scorched, whatever they may be, are also on the way.

As for Steel Dawn, it arrives on December 1st for current owners of the game. Fallout 76 is currently available for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. It’s a fairly different game now, thanks to the Wastelanders update which landed earlier this year but it’s not without its flaws. Check out our official review for more details.

Credit where credit is due- given the disastrous launch and relentless criticism that Fallout 76 suffered, you would have expected Bethesda to wash their hands off the game at the first chance possible. It’s what most publishers in the industry would have done. Bethesda, however, have stuck with the game, adding to it with consistent updates. And the next big update, Fallout 76: Steel Dawn, is out soon.

We’ve known for a while now that Steel Dawn will introduce the Brotherhood of Steel – which Fallout fans will be very familiar with – to the online RPG, but in a recent update, Bethesda have provided some more details on what players can expect from the expansion.

On top of adding the first chapter of the new Brotherhood of Steel questline to Fallout 76, Steel Dawn will also bring with it new locations to explore, new weapons and armour from the Brotherhood’s own arsenal to equip, and new NPCs to meet. Fallout 76’s last major update, Wastelanders, was a significant improvement over the base game, so there’s reason to be optimistic about this one as well. Fingers crossed. Steel Dawn will release on December 1, and will be free for all Fallout 76 owners.
