“I think it’s going to be an off-the-table thing for now… But I don’t want to throw it out there just yet. But it’s all based on hardware limitations – because with such a small team we need as much support as we can get.

We can make it scalable on the PC, but in terms of console development… we don’t want to say like ‘Wii U’ and then not be able to present like, anything – or if it looks, like (for the lack of a better word) crap. We want to wait; we don’t want to half-ass anything.”

“What’s holding me back on the Wii U, is as I read on the Wii U – it’s not really an HD contender in terms of Xbox One versus PlayStation 4…When it comes to the Wii U, it’s going to take a lot for us to scale things back so we can work on that. But…it doesn’t mean that what we have right now wouldn’t allow for us to scale things back, because if we’re going to be able to make it scalable on the PC – so players with lower-end systems can play – then hopefully we can do the same thing for the Wii U.”

A fan recently created a trailer for the Xbox One and its exclusives, which include Titanfall, the next Halo, Forza Motorsport 5, Dead Rising 3, Project Spark, Quantum Break, Sunset Overdrive and other titles. And it is quite amazing. Check it out above.

Would it kill Microsoft to present their product like this? As a big deal, that is the next generation of gaming, rather than pointing out that we get a free damn sticker in the Day One edition? Regardless, the editing and song choice are spot-on so kudos to the creator.

The Xbox One has seen some major ups and downs – mostly downs – since being revealed this past May. What with DRM policies being reversed and self-publishing for indies being allowed and an always-on Kinect, the Xbox One has definitely been in the eye of the storm. Regardless, the Xbox One will be releasing this November, with rumours that it will be launching alongside Call of Duty: Ghosts on November 5th.

Oh, Half Life 3. Thou art a fickle mistress who never wishes to be seen. Ever since releasing the second game many moons ago, Valve Software (and boss Gabe Newell) have teased us and made us wait for the inevitable third game.

And then, finally, we get a confirmation trailer announcing that indeed, Half Life 3 will be out this Winter and Gordan Freeman will return, wielding both a Gravity Gun and Portal Gun.

Except, it won’t be. The above is just a fan-made trailer for the same. Granted, a very well made fan trailer, but still fan-made and thus not official.

You’d expect the internet to erupt with hatred – because seriously, why must anyone taunt us with even a shred of hope – but this is just par the course. Any hopes of Half Life 3 ever being released were especially dashed when news that Valve is currently working on Left 4 Dead 3 using the Source 2 engine emerged. Nevertheless, we can still dream, even if the desire is weak.

He stated that, “I rendered these a few weeks ago but didn’t have the time to post these untli now, was finishing my bachelor in Graphic Design. So first things first. /u/Albino-Zebra’s rendering was the one that got me into making one of my own. I was a huge PS fanboy when i was younger. I have skipped the PS3 because of studies and whatnot, and now I am real exited for the PS4.

“Exploration in the design started with sketching and finding that living room box aesthetic. Also got a lot of inspiration from other renderers. /u/Albino-Zebra render was, I think, too fan heavy. /u/MrSmooth’s render is a great one, but a tad too busy on the front of the console. And /u/BrokenString comment about the blue horizontal light got me in bunch of new ideas and directions.”

The blue light itself is what’s interesting – it makes the console look bizarrely fresh while the rest of the design is decidedly more typical. Think it’ll wind up being the default design? Find out tomorrow when Sony finally takes the covers off the design.

Waiting to finally play FF7 HD someday? Probably won’t happen, at least officially, since HD towns are so tough to create for Square Enix. Or maybe, if they finally amass a giant army to finish the project, we may be able to play the game in, I dunno, 5 years maybe?

Some fans have actually created the game; a tiny sample, actually of FF7 running on Unreal Engine 3. It… looks quite decent. And Tifa looks quite decent as well, if you know what I mean. Yeah, yeah, here’s the download link for the game.

Not only is the video available in HD 720p, but there’s also a special version which enables 5.1 surround sound.
The 5.1 Surround version offers a much more realistic experience. One of the differences it features is that the flashback voices (memories) are heard from the 2 rear speakers, thus gives a much more realistic touch..
