Resogun update coming "soon enough".

Some more games have received or will be receiving updates to enable PS4 Pro support. The first is Farming Simulator 17, the game that infamously supported mods on PS4 before Fallout 4 did, whose update is already live.

There are three modes to choose from – Ultra HD which runs at 4K resolution; Quad HD which enables a 1440p resolution and 60 FPS frame rate; and HD mode, which runs the game at 1080p resolution at 60 FPS with better draw distance.

The second game is Resogun, which will be receiving its update “soon enough” according to Housemarque. Interestingly, the developer has yet to confirm what the patch will have and what visual modes will be enabled. Nevertheless, it would be fair to expect native 4K resolution support and a mode for 1080p/60 FPS.

What are your thoughts on both games receiving PS4 Pro support? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more information on other PS4 titles that will be updated.

That's within its first month.

One of the most unexpectedly successful series of all times, Focus Home Interactive has announced that Farming Simulator 17 has sold through 1 million units within its first month. That equates to nearly twice the sales of the previous Farming Simulator in its first month.

Interestingly enough, half of all sales were on PC while the majority were made through stores. Yes, people actually went out of their way to purchase boxed copies of Farming Simulator 17. Let that sink in.

Farming Simulator 17 has also sold 220,000 copies through Steam. That’s not including its PS4 and Xbox One releases which managed to chart in their debut month despite competition from the likes of Battlefield 1, Titanfall 2 and The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Special Edition.

What do you think about the game’s success? Have you actually played it and could possibly explain the appeal? Let us know in the comments below. We won’t judge (too much), we promise.

But they will be internally tested and ported by the publisher.

Looks like the mods on consoles love is spreading- the latest game to have mods on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will be the upcoming Farming Simulator 17. Publisher Giants Software confirmed that it will test all mods internally and port them over to the consoles itself, to ensure that all of them meet “all of the necessary console requirements,” and potentially avoid a standoff like the one that Bethesda found itself in with Sony over the Fallout 4 modding issue.

“If PC players benefit from a larger quantity of mods, console players will be able to continuously enjoy new mods released regularly for free,” Thomas Frey of Giants said.

Whether or not the mods on PS4 are different from the ones on Xbox One, given that Sony have different policies regarding mods than Microsoft, remains to be seen. Chances are, however, that Giants will target the PS4 as the lowest common denominator (with the highest sales, incidentally), and have the same m0ds across it and Xbox One.

But will the game be able to deliver on that promise?

Focus Home Interactive are stirring up the proverbial hornet’s nest right now- in the wake of the announcement that the long awaited mods functionality would not be making it over to PlayStation 4 for either Fallout 4 or The Elder Scrolls Skyrim: Special Edition, owing to Sony apparently not making any concessions on their policy, they are now announcing that they will be offering mod support on Xbox One and on PS4 with the console versions of Farming Simulator 17.

I want to be snarky and say that Sony might mysteriously decide later and at the last minute that mods won’t be allowed for the PS4 version after all- however, that seems pretty unlikely, as it is unlikely that Focus Home wold make an announcement unless they were absolutely sure after last week’s furore. This then raises the question why Sony would allow mods for Farming Simulator, but not for Fallout or Skyrim– and this probably has more to do with the nature of the mods on offer. It is entirely possible that Focus Home were willing to comply with whatever restrictions Sony places on mods, or that Farming Simulator mods aren’t that ambitious to begin with, both of which would not apply for Fallout 4 and Skyrim.

Farming Simulator 17 will be launching on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PCs running Windows and Mac on October 25.

Everything you need to know about Farming Simulator 17.

Farming Simulator 17 is a farming simulation game and is the continuation of a series that was started with the first Farming Simulator. Giants Software is developing the newest title in this now long running franchise. Focus Home Interactive is the publisher for Farming Simulator 17 and has also been the publisher for the other games in this franchise.

Giants Software has largely only developed games in the Farming Simulator genre, though they have also dabbled in other simulators such as Ski-Region Simulator 2012. The company has become centered on this line of games over the last few years. The game was announced as coming to the PC, PS4 and Xbox One by the end of 2016 though the title does not yet have an official release date.

+ Quick Jump To

1. Development

2. Story

3. Gameplay

4. Characters

Development

On February 22, 2016 Farming Simulator 17 was officially announced by both Focus Home Interactive and Giants Software. At the same time the game was announced, it was given a release date of “end of the year, 2016.” That was as close to an actual date as the developers were able to provide at the time of the announcement. While the continuation of the series and the partnership between Focus Home Interactive and Giants Software was accompanied by a couple of screenshots of the game, no trailer has been released as of April of 2016. At the same time the game was announced, Focus Home Interactive announced it would be holding a press event in Paris, France. This event would allow members of the gaming press to get a look at several titles Focus Home was publishing, as well as have a Q&A session with the developers of Farming Simulator 17.

The two teams have said the game will be released simultaneously on the consoles as well as the PC, though it isn’t clear whether the game is only going to be on the current generation consoles or whether there might also be an Xbox 360 and PS3 version. The two companies have also offered some version of a Farming Simulator on mobile platforms such as iOS, though there hasn’t been any mention of porting the title to mobile platforms in the small bit of information Focus Home Interactive or Giants Software has given out so far.

The game is expected to land sometime in the fourth quarter of 2016. It’s expected to be on the PS4 and Xbox One as well as the PC. In the past, the game has been released through Giants’ online portal as well as Steam. There is no indication yet whether or not the game will also be offered through the Windows 10 store, but games offered on PC and Xbox One have been getting offered through the Windows 10 store since it went live.

Story

There is no story mode like other games traditionally carry in Farming Simulator 17. The basic background of the game is that the players are running their own farm and must try and not only make sure the equipment and food are being produced and kept up but also that the farm is actually turning a profit. The story unfolds however the players choose to have it unfold.

Gameplay

Online Multiplayer was first introduced into the series with Farming Simulator 15 and it would makes sense for that feature to be offered again in Farming Simulator 17, though those kinds of additions to the newest game have not been confirmed by either Giants or Focus Home Interactive. It’s likely that the game will have a number of the advancements that other versions in the series have seen, with new items and vehicles put into the game. Along wth a kind of open world approach where players can act as farmers who run their own property, there are a number of missions that will lead to the overall success of the game mode.

A Career mode allows players to decide what they want to plant, or what kind of animals they want to raise on their farm. In past versions of the game, players have started out with the most basic and dated equipment and must either raise enough money to update and repair the equipment or buy brand new equipment for the farm. As the Farming Simulator series has progressed, more of the equipment featured in the series have been branded and named. These brands are all the most well known farming equipment in real life and users will be able to choose through these brands depending on how much money players have to spend. Upgrading the farm itself, either by getting more land ready for new crops, or by adding new buildings and employees have been included in previous versions of Farming Simulator and will likely be included in Farming Simulator 17.

Characters

Farming Simulator 17 does not have any named characters to speak of in the game. Because this is a simulator, the player is expected to insert himself into the game as the main character, but there are very few interactions with NPCs inside the title. Farming Simulator 15 was the first in the series that offered a kind of online multiplayer that allowed players to compete or collaborate with one another. In this regard there were other characters in the game but there are not many if any at all expected to be included in Farming Simulator 17.

Note: This wiki will be updated once we have more information about the game

Focus Home Interactive have announced that the next entry in their Farming Simulator series will be launching at the end of this year; Farming Simulator 2017 is going to rake in the harvest at the end of 2016, launching simultaneously for PC and consoles.

“It’s been a pleasure working with Focus throughout all these years,” said Thomas Frey, VP of developer Giants Software. “This partnership is the water on the seed that made Farming Simulator grow into the global phenomenon it is today. Each time we release a new version together we reach more people, and we look forward to expanding this reach even further in the coming years.”

“Farming Simulator is a one of a kind story in the video game industry,” added Focus Home Interactive president Cedric Lagarrigue. “Years ago, we imagined a unique destiny for this game and Giants Software, their creators. It is with great satisfaction that we succeed in reaching all of our objectives. There are still a lot of beautiful pages to write for Farming Simulator, and it starts right now with the simultaneous release of the game on PC and consoles at the end of the year.”
