The expansion to 2K Games and Fireaxis’ XCOM: Enemy Unknown, XCOM: Within, is hitting Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 (as a standalone game), alongside PC later this year, and to ratchet up the hype, 2K Games has released a new story trailer for the title.

The title includes a slew of updates to the core Enemy Unknown experience, and adds a whole lot of variety and depth to the game (although still nowhere near the same level as the original XCOM games, way back in the day); the console versions will include all the original content as well as the new, expansion specific content.

XCOM: Enemy Within launches later this year, on November 13 in North America and November 15 for the rest of the world. So right next to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 launches! Great planning there, guys.

Developer Fireaxis Games has stated that the game will feature “nine new civilizations, eight new wonders, two new scenarios, four new gameplay systems and dozens of new units, buildings and improvements offering an expanded variety of ways to build the most powerful empire in the world.”

The civilization franchise was always successful due to its strategic war/economic elements that fans fell in love with ever since the release of the first game in the series. Sid Meier’s Civilization V: Brand New World plans to continue to do just that and hopefully it will be successful.

Brave New World is the second upcoming Downloadable Content for Civilization V, which will be released  on June 9th ‘internationally’ for PC and Mac. The expansion will bring “a massive amount of new gameplay” to Civilization V, this also includes the introduction of international trade and “a focus on culture and diplomacy.”

Brave New World will introduce “nine new civilizations, eight new wonders, two new scenarios, four new gameplay systems and dozens of new units, buildings and improvements offering an expanded variety of ways to build the most powerful empire in the world,” Firaxis Games have stated.

The developer continues to explain: “This new expansion provides enhanced depth and replayability through the introduction of international trade and a focus on culture and diplomacy. Your influence around the world will be impacted by creating Great Works, choosing an ideology for your people and proposing global resolutions in the World Congress. As you move through the ages of history you will make critical decisions that will impact your relationship with other civilizations.”

2K and Fireaxis Games have announced Sid Meier’s Ace Patrol for the iOS with a release date of May 9th, 2013. The game will be downloadable for free i.e. at zero cost.

Sid Meier’s Ace Patrol will be a turn-based strategy game that is based on World War 1 dog-fighting  Players will take control of WWI fighter planes. There will be up to 30 different models to choose from and the game will contain more than 120 missions in single player mode. Act Patrol will also feature multiplayer mode where you can battle others players via the Game Center.

In the single-player campaign mode, players will be able to build up a perfect team of aircraft and upgrade them with new abilities.

It is currently unknown on which iOS devices will the game support, no confirmation of any in-app purchases either.
