TIPS AND TRICKS

1. Don’t rev too hard when the race is starting- this can actually cause your engine to stall a little when you shift up, and cause a minor delay
2. Master braking- this means you need to learn how to rake while keeping the route you intend to take in mind, and also learn to ignore the braking lines, because while they are a good assist for beginners, they do not indicate the best braking you can achieve
3. Get familiar with a variety of different cars and car types- while you will undoubtedly settle into using one or two cars regularly over the long term, you should be familiar with a broader range
4. Learn to keep your speed and stability around corners- turn in with a wide berth, and let go of the acceleration a bit, but not entirely. Do not abuse the brake on corners.
5. Don’t be afraid to mod and customize your car

FARMING MONEY AND XP (Unlimited Money, Credits And XP):

1. Unlock the 2013 Ram Runner Forza Edition. If you are a VIP Pass holder, you already have this car
2. Go to Free Play. Select the Test Track Airfield.
3. Set the time limit to 30 seconds, and opponents to zero
4. Start the race, finish it, and restart. Make sure you drive. The purpose of this is that you get credits for completing and driving, and this method gives you the fastest track for doing so. When you level up, you will get 20,000 CR, and a choice for further money, a discounted car, or gear.

CUSTOMIZATION AND TUNING

Customization and tuning have always been an integral part of the Forza games, and Forza 7 is no different in that regard. You get a dizzying array of options to choose from to tune your car- and we’re here to walk you through all of them. ALL CARS AND TRACKS

There are over 700 cars in Forza 7, and an obscene amount of tracks as well, making it the most equipped and content filled racing sim on the market, bar none- especially now that Gran Turismo has downgraded from over a thousand cars to under 200.

FASTEST CARS

Okay, guess what the point of a racing game is. It’s to be faster than others, right? That means you need the fastest car. not always, mind- speed alone isn’t actually that good on a curvy track, for example (you’d need something with better traction, a lower center of gravity, good handling, and fantastic acceleration to do well on tracks like those), but in general, you can’t go wrong with speed.

Forza Motorsport 7 is out, and it’s actually a surprisingly competent PC port, in spite of reported issues with forced single core usage (and other such problems). Microsoft’s PC ports have gotten progressively better over the last year or so, and while Forza 7 isn’t their best foot forward, it’s definitely on the upper end.

But, the best PC ports can have issues- and this isn’t a ‘best PC port’ to begin with. As such, there are problems you might run into trying to run this game, compounded even worse by the Windows Store, and the can of worms that opens up. We’re here to help you troubleshoot those problems- but first, let’s get the usual stuff out of the way.

GENERAL FIXES

Generally speaking, some basic troubleshooting tips should always help you resolve whatever issue you are facing with the PC version of any game. The same holds true of Forza Motorsport 7 as well. If you are running into problems, maybe first attempt the following steps, and if they don’t work out, look into some of the more specific fixes we have below.

• Make sure the drivers on your PC are updated
• If you have two GPUs, make sure you are using the discrete GPU instead of the integrated one
• Set Forza‘s priority to High in the Task Manager
• Turn off any background programs, including firewalls, chat clients, video recorders, and overlays
• Try lowering visual settings on the game to see if that improves game performance

DOWNLOAD ERRORS ON WINDOWS STORE

Okay, I can’t actually help you with this. The Windows Store is an utter disaster, and trying to download large files causes the entire thing to fall apart- and Forza 7 is a very large file. It’s shameful that Microsoft have not addressed this already, but hey, here we are. My only advice is that you keep trying. Sadly, there is no alternate store you can try and get this from if you want to play this on PC.

1. Pull up the Run dialog box, and type in %Appdata%
2. In the Local folder, right click on ‘Packages’ to pull up Properties. Uncheck ‘Read only’.
3. Go to the Security tab, click on Advanced, click “Select a principle”, and ~computername\Users\
4. Apply and quit

Note: Given that the wide range of PC hardware out there, the fixes mentioned here may or may not work for you. But it’s worth giving them a shot since these have worked for players who own the PC version of the game.
