Plus, two other, rather unique sounding games.

Last week, Microsoft held a conference for upcoming Xbox One and Windows 10 games- but they also spent some time discussing the upcoming HoloLens, which goes on sale for developers at the end of March. The event was supposed to be embargoed until March- but it appears as though several outlets have broken the embargo, and begun reporting on what Microsoft showed off early.

For instance, Fortune posted an article today (since taken down, but preserved for posterity by Reddit) discussing the HoloLens, and the games it would launch with- and it seems as though Microsoft has some truly great ideas here. When the $3,000 HoloLens development hardware launches, three games will be available for it- Fragments, which sees the player play the role of an investigator, and analyze evidence in your surroundings in the real world (“Fragments blends the line between the digital world and the real world more than any other experience we built. When your living room has been used as the set for a story, it generates memories for you of what digitally happened in your space like it was real. It is an experience that bridges the uncanny valley of your mind and delivers a new form of storytelling like never before,” said Kudo Tsunoda, Microsoft corporate vice president); RoboRaid, which is a first person shooter, somewhat like the Face Raiders application that comes built into all Nintendo 3DS systems, except with a greater emphasis on sound; and finally, the return of a mascot fans have long clamored for in Young Conker.

“It is amazing how different the play experience feels based on playing the game in your living room versus your kitchen or your bedroom. Even starting the game from a different position in a single room creates an entirely new gameplay dynamic,” Tsunoda said about this game.

Of course, why Conker was used to headline HoloLens, instead of getting a new traditional game, remains unknown, but hey, at the very least, Microsoft haven’t forgotten about him.

That probably means something… right?

No confirmation from Microsoft yet.

While Microsoft has been very careful to point out that the VR device Hololens is not going to be a gaming first device, it appears the device will have at least some games judging by the fact that the company just filed a new patent for an apparent game called Fragments. While we don’t know exactly what this game has in store for us, it actually appears as though this might be the next step in what has been a long unfolding plan.

Dualshockers was apparently the first to notice that the patent had been filed and then the site did a little more digging. The site found a video that was actually put out almost a year ago showing people how Hololens can be used. In that video, which we’ve embedded below, there are a number of different tiles that had features such as Netflix and Skype. There is also one picture that shows the word Fragments backwards. It appears this was Fragments all along and that would mean the patent appears to be pointing towards a game that will be geared for the Hololens.

Beyond that, we know almost nothing about what this title might have in store for us. Of course, it won’t be too much longer until we get to find out. Microsoft has been planning on shedding more light on the Hololens in 2016 and as we draw ever closer to the new year. Check out the video for a bit of a sneak peek and then wait patiently.
