To The Moon and Finding Paradise developer's "time-resetting thriller mystery" is finally releasing for PC later this month.

Impostor Factory aka To The Moon 3 or even To The Moon 3: Impostor Factory has a release date. It’s out on September 30th and is available to wishlist for PC via Steam. The follow-up for To The Moon and Finding Paradise was announced in 2019 and meant to release last year but faced some delays.

As for the story, it may or may not involve Dr. Watts and Dr. Rosalene from the previous games. This time around, the protagonist is Quincy who ventures to a mansion for a fancy party. Sooner or later, he stumbles on a time machine in the bathroom. While this sounds nifty enough, the death toll starts rising and some cosmic horror seems afoot.

Of course, this isn’t the full story but that’s to be expected. One thing that’s for sure is that it will feature the same aesthetic and gameplay mechanics as the previous games (which it may be a prequel or sequel to). No fillers or time drains, guaranteed. Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.

The narrative adventure is still slated to release by 2020 end.

Freebird Games has emerged with a brand-new trailer for its upcoming narrative adventure sequel To The Moon 3: Impostor Factory. Previous games have been about Dr. Rosalene and Dr. Watts who use special technology to fulfill a terminal patient’s last wish. But this story is a little different and a lot more apocalyptic.

It tells the story of Quincy who got invited to a “parteh” at a strange mansion. In the bathroom, he stumbled upon a time machine and, lo and behold, began time traveling. Of course, people start dying and then Lovecraftian nightmares threaten the world. But that’s the gist of “around one-third” of the game.

To The Moon 3: Impostor Factory promises dialogues that “read so wrong but feel so right”, a mix of adventure elements and RPG art-style, and “zero filler and no time drains.” There’s also a long cat because why not? The game is still slated to release by the end of this year so stay tuned for more details in the coming months.

Freebird Games is working on the next installment in its To The Moon franchise with Impostor Factory. However, before that, Nintendo Switch players will be able to experience the first game courtesy of X.D. Network. Check out the launch trailer below, which is a great remake of creator Kan R. Gao’s original trailer.

To The Moon tells the story of Dr. Rosalene and Dr. Watts who are in charge of a new procedure. This procedure allows people to relive their lives, in their minds, and fulfill any last wishes. It’s only administered to dying patients though. So when the two venture into Johnny’s mind, they discover his desire to go to the moon and the journey that led him to that point.

Despite its pixel graphics and lack of any combat, To The Moon has received tons of critical praise for its emotional story-telling, soundtrack and excellent characters. It’s out PC, iOS and Android currently with the Switch version hitting the eShop on January 16th. Stay tuned for more details on when Impostor Factory will release in the coming months.

Remember Freebird Games’ Impostor Factory, a seemingly new IP? The developer is now referring to it as To the Moon 3: Impostor Factory, a follow-up for To the Moon and Finding Paradise. Check out the announcement trailer below – the game is out on Steam at the end of next year.

Much like its predecessors, this is a narrative-driven adventure title. This time around, the story focuses on Quincy, who went to a “parteh” at a strange mansion. Soon enough, he discovers a time machine, other people start dying and Lovecraftian tentacles get involved. As per the official Steam page, “That’s around 1/3 of what the game is really about.”

You’ll still get that “cozy mix between adventure game elements and classic RPG aesthetics” so don’t worry. It also seems that we haven’t heard the last of Dr. Rosalene and Dr. Watts, characters from the previous games who help give dying individuals a chance to live out their deepest wish. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime – it’s going to be a long wait.

Freebird Games describes it as a "time-resetting thriller mystery" that involves "bloody murders."

To The Moon and Finding Paradise developer Freebird Games has announced its next title. Releasing next year, it’s called Impostor Factory and sees players participating in a “time-resetting thriller-mystery that involves a series of bloody murders.” As noted by the blurb, this is a pretty big departure from the studio’s traditional story-telling title.

Not much else is known about Impostor Factory, and it may be some time before we actually see gameplay footage. Freebird Games’ titles have usually been about extensive conversations, light puzzle solving, and exploration. While it remains to be seen if Impostor Factory will have as memorable of a story, it’s still interesting to see the studio freely admit that the title represents “an end of an era.”

If you haven’t checked out Freebird’s other titles, they’re well worth your time. To The Moon concerns two scientists creating memories via a machine for terminally ill patients to grant their “final wishes”. Finding Paradise continues that storyline, but with a new patient and several memorable twists and turns.

Stay tuned for more information on Impostor Factory in the come weeks and months.

The critically acclaimed adventure game has been recreated for Switch with the Unity engine.

Freebird Games’ critically acclaimed adventure title To The Moon is coming to Nintendo Switch. This will be its first console platform, having first released for PC in 2011 and for mobiles in 2017. X.D. Network, which handled the mobile ports, is also working on the Switch version.

A tale of love and loss, To The Moon takes place in the future with two doctors using a machine to create artificial memories for terminally ill patients. This is done to help patients fulfil their final wishes before passing on. Gameplay is more focused on puzzle solving and conversations with other characters.

Interestingly, the Switch version isn’t a straight port. X.D. Network has actually recreated the entire game from the original RPG Maker blueprint with Unity. The results certainly speak for themselves in the trailer. To The Moon is out for Nintendo Switch on Summer. It also has a sequel, Finding Paradise, that’s currently available for PC.

Finding Paradise is still very much in development though.

Remember Freebird Games’ To The Moon, the breakout adventure RPG from 2011 that garnered critical acclaim? Its sequel Finding Paradise was set to release this Summer but it’s now been delayed.

As per the developer in a statement, “Due to personal circumstances, its release has been moved to the end of this year to ensure quality.”

However, development is still very much on-going. “Despite such dubious delays, the game has been making good and steady ground. A new progressive demo is to be released to internal testers in the coming week that would mark up to the final Act of the game, with the next demo version being the full game.”

Until then, you can play the two mini-episodes for To The Moon which are available for free. There’s also an HD remaster out for the original game on Android and iOS for $5.
