The Land of the Magnates will take place through a magical take on Middle Eastern folk tales.

Developer Permanent Way Games and publisher Freedom Games have announced a new side-scrolling action adventure title, The Land of the Magnates. The game is slated for release in 2025, and will be coming to PC. There is currently no word on whether it will also get a release on PlayStation, Xbox, or Switch. Check out the trailer below.

According to its Steam page, The Land of the Magnates is set in a magical world inspired by the myths of the Middle East. The game puts players in the shoes of the prince of the Land of Sun, Malik Shahbaz, who sets out on a journey across the realm to find a way to cure his poisoned fire.

The Land of the Magnates will feature a variety of worlds for players to explore, including the cursed Black Forest, the Land of the Sun shrouded in darkness, and the domain of the Water Princess. Along the way, players will have to take down minions of the dark by using his sitar.

One of the promises by the studio behind the game is that it will be grounded in the complex history and culture of Arabia, Persia, India, Byzantium and other cultures of the area. The game hopes to tap into folk tales like the Arabian Nights. It is being made in Unreal Engine 5.

The game, which was inspired by classic strategy RPGs and looks a lot like Fire Emblem, was announced yesterday and released live at E3.

Developer Sword and Axe and publisher Freedom Games have released turn-based strategy RPG Dark Diety on Steam today. The game was announced yesterday. Players who buy the game during its launch week will receive a 20% discount, bringing the game’s cost to $19.99. After June 22nd, it will cost $24.99.

Players will “command legendary heroes to reshape a land fractured by broken oaths, reckless wars, and secret arcane powers. The technological and cultural achievements of a once-great civilization now lie locked inside the ruins of ancient temples throughout the world of Terrazael. Long after society’s mighty history is snuffed out by a powerful and mysterious “Calamity,” the people of Etlan teeter on the brink of total war.”

Dark Diety features 28 playable chapters, 54 character classes, 30 playable characters, in-depth character relationships, and legendary treasures to find. Mostly, it just looks like a very good classic Fire Emblem game, and that’s never a bad thing.

You can watch the game’s launch trailer below:
