Unfortunately, the new Sherlock Holmes game appears to be a step down from how great some of the last few entries in the series have been. Maybe it’s because of the technical transition that accompanied this new game, but it’s not as compelling an adventure as the previous Sherlock Holmes games have been known to be.

But if you do play it, you’ll still find yourself up against some fiendishly difficult puzzles and conundrums, that will need all of your brainpower to solve. And if you find yourself bested by them, there’s no shame! It doesn’t hurt to ask for some help, and that’s what we are here for. Crimes & Punishments Releasing in September for PC and Home Consoles

Frogwares Studio’s Crimes & Punishments, the investigative title starring Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson, is set to release on PC, Xbox 360, PS3 and PS4 this September. The developer has also confirmed that it will be out on Xbox One.

The game will include 6 cases for players to solve and you’ll work as Sherlock to solve the cases, discern the details and come to conclusions through the power of observation. You’ll be able to pick up details by observing an individual or even reconstruct a crime scene using Holmes’ imagination. When you finally manage to find the criminal, you’ll have a chance to either abide with your morality or enforce the law.

Crimes and Punishments Receives Four New Screenshots, Debuts at E3 2013

Frogwares Studio’s Crimes & Punishments, the next edition in the Sherlock Holmes series of investigative games, has received some new screenshots, and is on track to be showcased to the world next week at E3 2013.

Given that the game was created using Unreal Engine 3, there’s definitely a lot of detail to be had and explored. The engine also makes for some 14 gameplay mechanics, some of them new and which will be showcased in greater detail in the coming months.

There will be 8 cases in total to solve as Holmes and Watson arrest suspects, make difficult moral choices and reconstruct crime scenes by observing the events leading up to them and then nabbing the culprits.

It might be satiate your urge for season 3 of Sherlock, starring everyone’s favourite Khan, Benedict Cumberbatch, but it’s still a harrowing, exciting experience. Crimes and Punishments is due to be released for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
