Here’s a guide to help check and improve upon your Park Rating in Jurassic World Evolution 3.

Your Park Rating is one of a handful of global resource metrics that count toward unlocking new content as you expand in Jurassic World Evolution 3. Each park location itself has specific internal target requirements to achieve in order to raise its Park Rating.

This guide is all about figuring out how to check and increase Park Rating in Jurassic World Evolution 3.

How To Check Park Rating

To see how your current Park Rating is faring as well as get an idea of what you need to do in order to raise it, open up the Control Room. Here you can get a broad overview of everything from the number of distinct species to appeal and its modifiers to contracts that will help raise the rating.

How To Increase Park Rating

Each park will clearly outline a set of four specific targets to achieve in order to maximize the rating and be considered successful. These are visible in the bottom left of the Control Room’s Management tab, and apply to each star of the five star scale.

The foundations of any improvements will rest upon making as much money as possible, since most of the targets will require significant investment. These improvements themselves will lead to greater profits, but it makes sense to prioritize those that do over those that are simply money sinks such as shelter coverage or dinosaur comfort.

Focus heavily on the targets that involve increasing dinosaur numbers and diversity, as well as Guest count. Contract completion is also relatively easy to achieve.

That is everything there is to know about raising your Park Rating in Jurassic World Evolution 3.

Jurassic World Evolution 3 Guide: How To Farm Money

Grind for as much cash as you can possibly earn with this money-making guide for Jurassic World Evolution 3.

Revenue is everything when it comes to running a successful park in Jurassic World Evolution 3. As it runs out, you may find your park on the verge of bankruptcy and be compelled to demolish structures for paltry refunds, or let go of employees to spare the expense of their salaries.

This guide is all about raking in cash as quickly and efficiently as possible in Jurassic World Evolution 3.

Contracting

Frequently check the Management tab of the Control Room in order to browse Contracts. These can serve as a steady source of income if you can fulfill their objectives. Do this before undertaking upgrades or research as they often overlap, thus allowing you to reap the rewards for something you were going to do anyway.

Note the significant bonus cash reward for contract completion within a specified timeframe, if applicable. If you are not confident you can do it within the time specified, try to achieve any objectives that will get you close enough to completion before actually accepting the contract. Note that these contracts refresh automatically, so you are still on the clock to some degree.

Never expend the absurdly high $45,000 cost of refreshing the contracts list manually.

Fossil Expeditions

Your scientists can be an expense unto themselves, but they can also reap large profits. Dispatch them on global expeditions regularly, in order to bring home both fossils and minerals for turning quick profits.

Genome extraction is an added bonus for the purpose of improving the diversity of your dinosaur species.

While Gold and eggs are highly prized, they are also rare drops. The lowest valued fossils sell for $40,000 a pop, but add up in sheer numbers found over time.

Photography

You can earn cash for photographing dinosaurs in your park by simply visiting your exhibits in a vehicle. Whip out your camera and take some decent pictures. Photographs are judged for uniqueness of species and their behaviors on display in the photo, ranging from eating to swimming to sleeping. Both juveniles and adults count as distinct subjects, but avoid spamming the same subject over and over.

Note that you can reposition the vehicle while looking down the lens.

A number of bonuses can apply to the base value of photographs, including composition of the photo and subject count.

That is everything there is to know about making money fast in Jurassic World Evolution 3.

Build Dinosaur Encounters to let park Guests interact with dinosaurs up close and personal using this guide for Jurassic World Evolution 3.

While most Attractions in Jurassic World Evolution 3 are set up for remote viewing of dinosaurs, the Dinosaur Encounter finally lets Guests come face to face with some of the gentler species. While restricted to small and medium dinosaurs of a docile temperament, this Attraction is a great addition to your already existing infrastructure.

This guide is all about setting up Dinosaur Encounters in Jurassic World Evolution 3.

How To Build Dinosaur Encounters

Head to the Attractions menu, and select the Dinosaur Encounter building.

Either connect the Dinosaur Encounter building to a pre-existing Enclosure or place it first and then build a new Enclosure around it.

If not already appropriately populated, select dinosaurs to place inside the Enclosure.

Once hooked into your pathing system and powered up, it will be open to the public.

Best Use Of Dinosaur Encounters

Small herbivorous species of dinosaurs are the ideal candidate for populating the Dinosaur Encounter.

A handful of medium-sized dinosaur species may also be suitable up until they reach full size in adulthood.

The building is propped right up against the Enclosure fence, which should make pathing and powering easier. However, if you find that it just will not accept being placed on a pre-existing Enclosure due to some geometry issue, simply demolish just enough of the fence in order to place the building down, and then restore the fence so it forms a seam with the structure.
The Dinosaur Encounter’s food supply will have to be resupplied by maintenance every now and then.

The $137,500 investment is a lot, especially compared to the 100K cost for the Balloon Tour, but this Attraction revolves around the relatively quicker foot traffic, and should see a higher turnover. Grid draw is a mere one power as well.

That is everything there is to know about building Dinosaur Encounters for best effect in Jurassic World Evolution 3.

Build Emergency Shelters to protect both park employees and Guests in the event of catastrophes or sabotage, using this guide for Jurassic World Evolution 3.

The best laid plans can still go awry in Jurassic World Evolution 3 and when things fall apart, so does your Safety rating. Fortunately, you can salvage the situation through the use of strategically placed Emergency Shelters.

This guide is all about securing your park with Emergency Shelters in Jurassic World Evolution 3.

How To Build Emergency Shelters

Head to the Guests menu, and select the Emergency Shelter building.

Either select a preset Emergency Shelter building from the menu or create a custom one to your liking.

Select an appropriate location based on need and place the Emergency Shelter.

Once hooked into your pathing system it will be open to the public.

Best Use Of Emergency Shelters

Worst case scenarios are covered by Emergency Shelters, which are part and parcel of Shelter Coverage in terms of Guest Comfort rating.

They also provide security to your own park employees, and effectively prevent a sharp plummeting of the park’s Safety rating when something goes wrong.

Determining where to place them for best effect is made easy through heatmaps, but also by simply anticipating where problems are most likely to arise, such as Attractions that are attached to Enclosures, for example.

Some outcomes simply cannot be anticipated, such as calamitous weather, and you will have to pivot quickly to deploy maintenance and capture teams instead.

Storm Protection upgrades for buildings should be a high priority to mitigate the effects of weather events.

That is everything there is to know about building Emergency Shelters for best effect in Jurassic World Evolution 3.

Build Balloon Tours to maximize their use for viewing all of your park’s other Attractions with this guide for Jurassic World Evolution 3.

When it comes to Tour Attractions nothing comes close to the Appeal of Balloon Tours in Jurassic World Evolution 3. In addition to offering Guests a Pteranodon’s eye perspective of the route, it is also the safest of all of the vehicular Tours possible, without the ever present danger posed by prehistoric predators setting upon them.

This guide is all about plotting a route for Balloon Tours in Jurassic World Evolution 3.

How To Build Balloon Tours

Head to the Attractions menu, and select the Balloon Tour building.

Either select a preset Balloon Tour building from the menu or create a custom one to your liking.

Plot a route for the tour, with both commencing and ending points located at the building itself.

Once hooked into your pathing system and powered up, it will be open to the public.

Best Use Of Balloon Tours

Just about all species of dinosaurs can be visible on the Balloon Tour’s route.

Since the Balloon Tour can float right over various structures including other Attractions, as well as large unsecured tracts of land, Guests can entirely avoid dangerous land tours, and you can avoid massive security arrangements for worst case scenarios.

The Balloon Tour has no effect on your Transport Rating given its plodding speed, and is unlikely to be used specifically for traversing huge distances.

At a cool $100,000 to construct for just a singular Balloon to be deployed at any given time, it can be quite the investment. The relatively low load of two power to your network is the only upside.

That is everything there is to know about building Balloon Tours for best effect in Jurassic World Evolution 3.

Build Ziplines to leverage their use for both raising your park’s Appeal and Transport Rating with this guide for Jurassic World Evolution 3.

In Jurassic World Evolution 3, Appeal is a measure of the drawing power of your park to Guests, and is based on the species variety of visible dinosaurs, as well as Attractions. If Guests can’t even see the dinosaurs then they obviously won’t be awed by them, and that is where a variety of these viewing Attractions come into play, especially Ziplines.

This guide is all about enhancing your park’s Appeal by building Ziplines strategically in Jurassic World Evolution 3.

How To Build Ziplines

Head to the Attractions menu, and select the Zipline.

Either select a preset Zipline tower from the menu or create a custom one to your liking.

Select a point of entry and a point of exit.

The height of the Zipline will automatically accommodate the topography of the terrain it traverses.

Once hooked into your pathing system and powered up, it will be open to the public.

Best Use Of Ziplines

Huge herbivores are ideally suited to be the dinosaurs visible during Zipline traversal.

Ziplines can also function as an alternative to tedious foot travel, so you may consider using it to augment your Transport Rating between two points, perhaps even killing two birds with one stone with careful planning.

Ziplines do come at a hefty cost of five units of power to your network though, despite the relatively low price of $37,500 to construct.

That is everything there is to know about building Ziplines for best effect in Jurassic World Evolution 3.

A refined, feature-rich sequel that deepens park management while honoring Jurassic magic.

Frontier Developments is the undisputed master of the construction and management simulation genre in the industry at this point (and has been for quite some time), and alongside the likes of Planet Zoo and Planet Coaster, the Jurassic World Evolution series has been a big part of how the studio has solidified that reputation in its more recent history. The first two games in the dinosaur theme park management franchise were both excellent experiences that not only served as wonderful love letters to the beloved franchises they were based on, but also as shining examples of just how compelling a well made management sim can be.

Now, four years on from the launch of the series’ sophomore outing, Jurassic World Evolution 3 arrives on the scene, promising yet more iterative improvements and expansions on an established and successful formula. The end result, to little surprise, is a fantastic, addictive, authentic (when it needs to be), and riotously enjoyable game that, in spite of ultimately being only an iterative improvement on its predecessor’s mechanical foundation, still ends up feeling like an unmissable experience for fans of the genre and the franchise.

"The biggest of Jurassic World Evolution 3’s additions to the series’ gameplay foundation is juvenile dinosaurs."

If you’ve played the previous Jurassic World Evolution games (or, really, any game that fits the mould of the classic construction and management sim), you’re going to have a good idea of what to expect going in. Jurassic World Evolution 3 puts players in charge of building, managing, and expanding their own dinosaur theme park, building enclosures; genetically creating, modifying, and looking after dinos; looking at guests and their satisfaction levels and building a variety of amenities and park improvements in response; managing park finances and taking on different kinds of contracts; and more.

It’s the Zoo Tycoon and RollerCoaster Tycoon formula adapted and altered to fit with the Jurassic Park/World franchise, same as the first two Jurassic World Evolution games- only this time, a number of relatively smaller improvements come together to offer what might be the most polished and easily enjoyable version of this already winning formula.

The biggest of Jurassic World Evolution 3’s additions to the series’ gameplay foundation is juvenile dinosaurs. Yes, that’s right- you’ll now get to see baby, miniaturized versions of all manner of dinosaur species that will then grow and thrive over time (assuming, of course, that you’re ensuring that they do), from adorable small-sized Lokiceratops to smaller, not-quite-mature versions of even the most vicious and ferocious looking creatures in the game’s expansive roster.

"Keeping an eye on those very dino numbers and ensuring that things don’t get too chaotic, is a big part of the core loop in Jurassic World Evolution 3."

That goes hand in hand with the introduction of dinosaur breeding. Players are now asked to pay attention to (and modulate according to their needs) the gender of each dinosaur in your park, because dinosaurs can and will now procreate. Though you will, of course, still be sending out expedition teams to bring back fossils that you can then use to modify and artificially birth new dinosaurs of different species, once they’re let loose in enclosures, dinosaurs will often mate and procreate on their own, leaving eggs in nesting sights.

That, in turn, means that your park’s dino population isn’t always going to be in your control- in fact, keeping an eye on those very dino numbers and ensuring that things don’t get too chaotic, too overpopulated, or problematic in any number of other ways, is a big part of the core loop in Jurassic World Evolution 3. It’s an engaging new layer on top of an already compelling web of mechanics.

On top of dinosaur breeding and adorable juvenile dinos, Jurassic World Evolution 3 also boasts a larger, more granular set of building, editing, and customizing tools, affording players greater control over their dinosaur park than the previous two Evolution titles.

Whether it’s through elaborate decorations of all shapes and sizes, the greater freedom you’re afforded in building and shaping dinosaur enclosures around natural environmental fixtures, or the creation and sharing tools baked into the game itself, Jurassic World Evolution 3 seems to prioritize player agency and complete freedom in customization over almost all other aspects of the genre- which, of course, is exactly what you want from a game of this sort.

"Taking players to a variety of maps across the world, Evolution 3’s campaign keeps things consistently fresh and entertaining."

There are, of course, also several ways to sink your claws into the game’s offerings, with multiple modes on offer. The meat and potatoes here is the campaign, which steps back from the toothier, more fast paced nature of Jurassic World Evolution 2’s campaign (which was still a lot of fun in its own right, personally speaking), and goes back to offering an experience focused on park building and management rather than dealing with a string of disasters of growing scale (though that does still play a part here- this is still Jurassic Park, after all).

Taking players to a variety of maps across the world, Evolution 3’s campaign keeps things consistently fresh and entertaining through well thought out objectives, great maps, and of course, an excellent gameplay foundation. The writing and voice acting are also surprisingly among the campaign’s strengths. This is obviously not a story focused game by any means, as you’d expect from the genre, but the cast of characters that provide voice overs (and missions) throughout the experience are generally quite colourful and interesting in different ways. Unsurprisingly, the star of the show is the legendary Dr. Ian Malcolm, once again voiced by none other than Jeff Goldblum itself, whose constant cynicism and Goldblumisms make for genuine laughs on a constant basis.

Beyond the campaign, there’s the challenge mode, which lets players take on specific scenarios that task you with different missions in locations around the world. Personally, I found the challenge mode way less engaging than the campaign, primarily because my preferred way of playing is to distract myself away from the main objective and spend an obscene amount of time just building up and perfecting a single park. If you want relatively shorter and more directed doses of Jurassic World Evolution 3’s construction and management sim systems, challenge mode is worth looking into- but I just don’t think that that’s where the game shines.

"For fans of the genre, the Evolution games, and the Jurassic Park series as a whole, Jurassic World Evolution 3 is an excellent love letter to all of those things."

There is, of course, a sandbox mode as well, where you can build the park of your dreams with exactly the ruleset that you want- including, if you prefer, no restrictions whatsoever. Sandbox modes are usually where games of this genre tend to get most of their replayability from, and sure enough, that’s very much the case here as well.

Though the campaign is, as I mentioned, a ton of fun, it’s the enjoyable and highly customizable sandbox mode that makes Jurassic World Evolution 3 as endlessly playable as it is- especially if creating and managing (and potentially causing chaos in) your own dinosaur theme park was a childhood dream you grew up with.

Jurassic World Evolution 3 isn’t a huge step forward, nor does it do anything radically different from its predecessors in a way that would convince those who didn’t like the first two Evolution games to dive into this newest entry. But for fans of the genre, the Evolution games, and the Jurassic Park series as a whole, Jurassic World Evolution 3 is an excellent love letter to all of those things, making it a must buy, just like its predecessors. Once again, Frontier Developments has made sure that life finds a way.

Frontier Developments’ latest and perhaps greatest title in its dinosaur park management series is now available with Jurassic World Evolution 3. It’s available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC – check out the launch trailer below, complete with narration by actor Jeff Goldblum.

All the classics, such as the Campaign, Sandbox and Challenge Mode, have returned with new locations, scenarios, and more to master. There are over 85 species to raise, with juvenile dinosaurs added for the first time. There are new attractions such as the Balloon Tour and Cretaceous Cruise, but you can also create an entire island from scratch with the Island Generator.

Of course, plenty of tools are also available for managing your park, but if you want to explore alternate paths for classic moments from the film, Chaos Theory is worth checking out. While paid DLC is a given, Frontier Developments will also add species from Jurassic World Evolution 2 for free, complete with their juvenile variants, starting with the Kentrosaurus.

Dr Henry Wu, who? Frontier’s latest dino-park sim proves life has found a new way

The Jurassic World Evolution series has always aimed to do more than simply showcase prehistoric herds behind fortified fences whilst waiting for chaos to unfold. As decent as its earlier titles are, none have captured the full “John Hammond” fantasy quite like Jurassic World Evolution 3 appears ready to do. Frontier Developments – the team behind Evolution and much-loved park management sims Planet Zoo and Planet Coaster – have listened closely to community feedback. The result is a threequel that is shaping up to be the series’ most immersive, detailed, and strategic entry yet, and potentially one of 2025’s biggest games.

Instead of unlocking the tools to build bigger enclosures to house a larger roster of dinosaurs, Jurassic World Evolution 3 is leaning into systems-driven park management. Its headline features – granular terraforming, deeper enclosure customisation, and the ability to breed and raise baby dinos – are certainly eye-catching, but what’s most impressive is how these new mechanics are woven meaningfully into gameplay. Players will need to think like real park managers, overseeing animal welfare, guest safety, staff efficiency, and the park’s bottom line more closely than ever. Now, every decision carries weight – from how much foliage to plant in an enclosure, to how the inherited personality of a newly hatched raptor can be nurtured – proving Evolution 3’s innovations are far more than new tools to tinker with.

Leveraging their experience from Planet Zoo, Frontier knows players love to construct parks which feel uniquely theirs. As a result, one of the clearest ways Evolution 3 is stepping up is through its creative building system, set to provide players with the ability to push boundaries beyond what’s been possible before. All-new terrain modifiers, scenery editors, modular building, and more besides, allow players to customise their parks in micro detail, with the option to streamline the building process with prefabs, blueprints, and workshop integration should players prefer quick results.

For patient players, grid building, scalable scenery items, dynamic, biome-adjusting object placement, and the terraforming tools heavily featured in gameplay trailers illustrate the extensive creativity now available. Specifically, dramatic terrain sculpting allows players to excavate valleys, stack rocks into mountains, and craft rivers, lakes, and waterfalls, creating rolling hills, lush wetlands, rocky outcrops, or desert-like plains for their dinosaurs to inhabit.

Enclosures no longer feel like flat compounds dropped onto a map, they’re sculptable enclaves to match the needs of the species living in them. A focus on functional enclosure design suggests constructing verdant pastures for roaming herbivores or purpose-built marshes for amphibious creatures to bathe, but this isn’t the only consideration; a dinosaur’s happiness and welfare must be catered for too. Enclosure layout, undulation, vegetation, water sources, even sight lines, will influence dino behaviour, meaning habitat design – and park layout as a whole – must balance aesthetics, spectacle, and practicality with biological requirements.

The latter point is especially important given dinosaur breeding is now a fully-fledged feature in Evolution 3. This mechanic is perhaps the biggest talking point in the lead up to Evo 3’s release; after all, it’s been a dream feature for longtime fans, but breeding dinos successfully won’t be without its challenges. To begin, adults can be synthesised and released into enclosures, but the fruits of their offspring will require more than feeding. Jurassic World Evolution 3’s new breeding mechanic involves juggling the requirements of individual species while pursuing a natural breeding process or scientist-run breeding program. Choosing a secluded nesting spot, nurturing parent-child dynamics, ensuring enclosures aren’t overpopulated – these are a handful of deliberations demanding player attention.

Juvenile dinosaurs inherit the traits of their parents too – both good and bad. This layer of management means that every new generation of dinosaurs feels more personal. Hopefully, players will see the impact of their genetic and environmental decisions over time. There’s potential for long-term implications too: it hasn’t been confirmed, but mismanaging breeding programs could lead to stressed populations or genetic bottlenecks which adversely affect future generations.

Also, given the slate of creative planning coming to Evo 3, it seems likely that baby dinos wandering freely will boost a park’s appeal. During campaign mode, there are conservationists and shareholders to please, of course. But in terms of park design, perhaps there’ll be an option to build dedicated nursery zones where guests can get up close with hatchlings, or viewing platforms where visitors can catch a glimpse of playing juveniles.

These two systems – customisation and breeding – could lead to more emergent storytelling too. Every player’s park will have its own unique history; its own triumphs, disasters, and potential for dinos to run amok. Frontier has a strong track record in turning failures into fun moments, and a couple of new park maintenance tools give players the option to witness the chaos unfolding first-hand. The new ATV Maintenance Team includes the option to automate some of the park’s needs; by installing a camera network, the ATV Team can undergo repairs or re-install failing power generators without player intervention. However, players who’re keen to get on the ground can ride an All-Terrain Vehicle themselves, performing maintenance tasks or, should they wish, chasing down and tranquilising escaped dinosaurs themselves.

The choice for players to be an eye in the sky as their park runs independently, get hands-on in their park’s day-to-day running, or opt for a middle ground, represents an upturn in the dino park management genre, and could be the shot in the arm Evolution needs to elevate the series beyond a licensed tie-in. Likewise, Jurassic World Evolution 3 looks to fix Evolution 2’s shortcomings by bringing in Planet Zoo’s creative planning and long-term thinking. If players can now manage their park to the same level as Frontier’s other games, then Jurassic World Evolution might finally give players the dino park management sim they’ve been craving.

This is more than a bigger sandbox. With generations of dinosaurs at the hands of players – some scientifically accurate, others the stylised hybrids from the movies – the result will be a game that feels more personal, replayable, and memorable than before. The ominous human saboteurs hinted at in trailers – both fun and frustrating in equal measure in earlier titles – might not even spoil the party. After all, park sabotage is faithful to the series, with this being something Frontier has been keen to maintain.

We can’t sign off without highlighting the dedication Frontier’s development team has poured into Evolution 3’s dinosaurs, as in this threequel they look and behave more like real animals than ever before. Analysing prehistoric research and examining real-life fossils has enabled the studio’s artists and animators to blend artistic concepts and scientific evidence with Jurassic World’s creatively liberal style to present creatures with genuine presence. The team hasn’t just focused on aesthetics, colours, size, and scale, but they’ve considered how these animals interact socially, their herding behaviour, and how juveniles mature within the group.

Referencing the natural world has proven fruitful too. The animation team needed to consider how dimorphic and juvenile animals move both on their own and with each other to portray how they play, nurture, and grow in-game. Rhinos, elephants, dogs, cattle, even the movement of Malaysian Porcupines, have been incorporated into the motion of Evolution 3’s dinosaurs. Watching a newborn raptor stumble to its feet, or a teenage Psittacosaurus clumsily tail-slap its sibling are sure to be memorable moments that stick with players.

Jurassic World Evolution 3 truly evolves the formula, bringing robust terraforming tools, juvenile life stages, and a deep slate of smarter systems, attractions, and park management upgrades.

Ever want to manage your own jurassic park in glorious management sim format? Well, you’ve probably played Jurassic World Evolution or its sequel, then. The original game released back in 2018, and with the latest one just around the corner, it’s safe to say the series has been steadily rolling out content from the beginning. But Jurassic World Evolution 3 isn’t just some glorified DLC; no, it’s adding some game-changing features and core gameplay mechanics that clearly define it as a substantial entry. Let’s go over some of the breakthrough features and exciting new elements that make up this evolved sequel. Here are 15 things to know before you buy Jurassic World Evolution 3.

Over 80 Dinosaur Species

While the list of prehistoric animals eclipses that of Jurassic World Evolution 2, it still omits some species from that game’s extensive DLC. But roster count isn’t everything. Jurassic World Evolution 3 is injecting new life into its dinos with a range of additional features. For the first time, dinosaurs will display sexual dimorphism between male and females. These are visually distinct alterations, such as male pterosaurs having larger and more colorful tail crests than their female counterparts. But that’s not the only depth being added to the game’s 80-plus dinosaur roster.

Juvenile Dinosaur Variants

For the first time, infant variants of each prehistoric species are present in the game. And they’re more than just a pint-sized version of their mom and dad, they behave and animate differently. The studio perused real-world fossil data to determine how juveniles from each species might look and behave. Some have larger eyes and less hair than the adult variant, and vice versa. An example the studio shared were Psittacosaurus infants, which use all four legs to move around instead of the adults which walk on two.

Improved Dinosaur AI

The addition of juveniles adds depth not just to dino variety and animations, but how they actually behave. Infants often stick close to their parents and avoid confrontation. Parents preoccupy themselves with child-rearing, protecting them from potential predators. And yes, it’s confirmed that juveniles can get eaten and killed by other adult species, and even attack guests. The combination of unique designs, different animations and sounds, and distinct AI behavior for juvenile variants adds a whole lot more dynamism to each species.

Generations of Dinosaurs

The existence of juveniles adds a whole new wrinkle to the management side of things as well. You can now select where to place nests for adult dinos to nurture and raise their young. Building a safe and sheltered environment for juveniles to grow up in requires a new set of resources and materials, as well as an understanding of that species’ particular social dynamic. Some dinos are shy to breed around humans while others thrive in front of an audience, so players will have to adapt to the family dynamics of each species.

Crossbreeding

Satisfied with how a particular dinosaur turned out and what to replicate it? Well, you can now clone your favorite dinosaur as long as it’s fertile. There’s also crossbreeding for players who want to min/max stats, or just want to mix the traits and visual appearance of two species.

Terraforming

One of the best ways to ensure a safe and ideal nest environment for infant dinos is to edit the natural terrain already present. Digging out a small valley might be perfect for shy adults wanting to procreate in peace, while growing tall trees and carving out high cliffside outcroppings might be ideal for pterodactyl nests. Pre-built fences are still there for you when you’re not feeling creative, but the option for natural enclosure terraforming is always there should the specific need arise.

Modular Construction

For the first time, players can create their own buildings from scratch. Now, like Frontier’s other games (Planet Coaster, Planet Zoo), we have dozens of building materials to color, resize, and combine together to make custom structures. The inclusion of a grid-based placement system makes snapping pieces to terrain precise and simple. The game still includes a variety of pre-built structures, but the addition of modular customization is a huge boon for the series that fans hav begged for.

Park Attractions

A number of new attractions make their way to JWE3, including a Balloon Tour and something ominously termed Dinosaur Encounter. The new river-themed Cretaceous Cruise attraction really lets players’ creativity loose. In addition to all the modular construction possibilities, carving out the terrain for a guided boat tour is encouraged. First-person perspective is especially immersive here, but Cretaceous Cruise also gives players full control over the kayak just like if they were a guest experiencing it themselves.

Sandbox Mode

Players that want to experience all the fun and creativity without any failure points should check out the returning sandbox mode. This entry ramps up the customization with modular building tools and terrain formation, making sandbox that much more fun to experiment in. What’s more, players can even toggle dinosaur maturity on or off to keep juvenile dinos from growing up. There really is no boundary in sandbox, especially since every dinosaur species is available to use without the need to unlock them first.

Frontier Workshop

Players can even take their park creations and share them with others via the Frontier Workshop. Or browse the creations of others through the Workshop and insert them into your own parks. What’s more, Frontier Workshop has cross-play functionality, allowing players to share regardless of platform.

Campaign

Of course, the lack of sandbox unlocks doesn’t diminish the purpose of campaign mode. In fact, based on what we know, this entry’s campaign looks to be the main attraction of the game. In terms of story and timeline, the campaign directly follows the events of Jurassic World Evolution 2, positioning it closer to the events of the Jurassic World Dominion film. Players are tasked with introducing the wider world to the wild world of dinosaurs across 10 park levels spanning the globe. The managing director of this effort, Cabot Finch, returns to the narrative as well as other key characters.

Jeff Goldblum as Dr. Ian Malcom

Ian Malcom reprises his role as your insightful narrator through key parts of the game’s campaign. And for fans of the original films, Jeff Goldblum continues his contribution to the games by voicing the doctor. While Finch fulfills the manager role of the game, Malcom takes on a more skeptical advisory position.

3 Factions to Appease or Oppose

The campaign is infused with a touch of politicking and power struggles. Three factions, or sectors, vie for the player’s influence by granting objectives and offers. These three factions (conservation, entertainment, and security) have differing demands and expectations for your dinosaurs, and some might even want certain species gone for good. This bit of faction gameplay adds a touch of moral decision-making to campaign, spicing up the mode quite a bit.

New Japan and Hawaii Locations

The campaign goes beyond the United States locations the previous game exclusively took place in. Now, players will build new parks in Japan, Papua New Guinea, and as an extension of the US, Hawaii. These locations have their own unique goals, tasks, biomes, characters, and sector challenges.

Release Date, Price, and Platforms

Jurassic World Evolution 3 launches worldwide on October 21. It’ll be the first game in the series to omit prior console generations, being available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S exclusively. The game costs $59.99 for the standard edition, with the Deluxe Edition (which includes the Badlands Set and Upgrade Pack) being priced at $74.99.
