It looks like Roller Coaster Tycoon with dinosaurs. In the best possible way.

While it was a bit disappointing that Jurassic World Evolution would not be a survival or action Jurassic park game (which honestly sounds badass), and that it will instead be a park builder and management sim. At the same time, I doubt most people can doubt that having a Jurassic World park sim is actually pretty damn cool.

If you needed some more convincing, then the very first gameplay trailer for the game, which you can see for yourself below, should hopefully help allay any fears or doubts you may have had. It’s a park sim, alright, but that doesn’t mean that there is any shortage of dinosaurs, or dino action and rampages, in the game. In fact, in the vein of the best park management sims, it sounds like you can go a bit over the top here in terms of what you do.

You can check out the first gameplay trailer for the game for yourself below. Jurassic World Evolution will launch in Summer 2018 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Due out for PS4, Xbox One, and PC in Spring 2018.

Frontier has announced Jurassic World Evolution, a brand new park builder game, that will be hitting consoles next year. The game was announced at Microsoft’s Gamescom conference, and we got to see a cool trailer with some pre-rendered footage of how we will be able to build our own Jurassic Park style theme park.

Frontier is of course the studio that pioneered the genre to begin with, and having a new Jurassic Park game in the style of Roller Coaster Tycoon sounds like a great idea, too. It depends on the execution, but as of right now, we can’t say we have any issues with how it looks or what the game is at all (though I have to be honest, a Jurassic Park survival horror game would have been awesome).

Jurassic World Evolution is due out on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC in Spring 2018. Make sure to check out the trailer for the game below.

Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy.

No Man’s Sky and Star Citizen keep getting delayed, but meanwhile, Frontier already has had its space sim out since last year, with multiple substantial updates for it since, as well as announced console ports. The newest development for the game is the launch of Planetary Landings, which is a new addition to the game that lets players land on planets- making the world of Elite Dangerous even more massive than it already was.

Horizons launches today, at least in beta form, and the first bit of content that we get for it is Planetary Landings, which lets players land and explore billions of full-size airless worlds, simulated in exacting detail, throughout the Milky Way (on a related note, what is our obsession with the Milky Way? Why don’t games ever look at other galaxies?).

Horizons represents an entire season of new content that will be rolled out over the coming year, and the Planetary Landings beta is only the first expansion within that larger season of content updates. So yes, the world of Elite Dangerous will continue to grow and expand- fitting for a game that is based on exploration of our universe, really.

No microtransactions, no ads, no nonsense. Just a great game, done right.

The Roller Coaster Tycoon series’ fortunes have been up and down like… well, like a roller coaster, lately. After a decade long absence following the disappointing Roller Coaster Tycoon 3, Roller Coaster Tycoon saw a new disappointing 3DS release, an even more disappointing iOS release that actually had the tenacity to bill itself as the fourth mainline entry in the saga, and a new, planned PC release called Roller Coaster Tycoon World, which has already seen two developer shifts.

Meanwhile, the original developer of these games, Frontier, has decided to port the third game in the series, Roller Coaster Tycoon 3, to iOS devices. The catch? There is no catch. The game has been ported with new, optimized touch controls, no microtransactions, and no shady ads or DLC.

Pinch me too, I must be dreaming.

It’s available on the App Store right now for $3.99- you need an iPhone 5 or above, running iOS 7 or higher. If you are planning on running this on you iPad, you need, at the very least, an iPad Air.
