A sneak peek at the second paid story DLC was also revealed in new concept art of an overgrown street and the abandoned Morlech Asylum. It’s out in late 2023, per the recent roadmap. Another update is coming in June, adding a new Night Experience, Roaming Volatiles and Parkour Flow improvements, so stay tuned for more details.

The story is set in Ilden, which has faced utter devastation following a tear in the Veil. This has led to Wraiths crossing over, possessing the living and creating corrupted monsters. It’s up to the Chimeras from the Order of the Ashen Blade, to stop them. You’ll control Briar and Lute, with the former possessing overwhelming physical strength and the latter existing as a Shade with mystical abilities.

As players progress through the city, they’ll learn that things aren’t quite what they seem. Learning new abilities, unlocking new weapons, and much more can be discovered as the duo fight to quell this disaster. Soulstice releases on September 20th – check out our preview here for more details.

Developed on Unreal Engine 5, Layers of Fears promises “horror reimagined,” building off the foundations of the first two games. It features 4K resolution and HDR support, ray tracing, and the Lumen system for immersive lighting. Though the entire story has yet to be outlined, it will showcase the “stories of artists enslaved by their obsessions” while casting a “new light on the overarching narrative.”

Regardless, there are numerous hallways to explore (with chains representing how the pianist is seemingly trapped) and fire. Lots and lots of fire. Also, a lighthouse, which may be a reference to the second game’s ship setting.

Unfortunately, things seem to take a turn for the worse. With his memories and personality a mess, Joshua explores various minimalist rooms and uses items to investigate his past via deja vu. Of course, there are parallel realities to delve into, because things aren’t convoluted enough already. Whether Joshua can trust anyone, much less himself, is the real mystery.

The visual styling and aesthetic of The Gap look nice, creating a surreal experience. It’s out “soon” for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Stay tuned for more details and gameplay in the coming months.

The video also talks more about Shadow Merge, the unique ability that protagonist Ayana can utilize. Taking inspiration from Splatoon, it allows her to blend with shadows and roam about without being detected. While this is great for bounding up walls and other surfaces, you can’t stay submerged in the shadows forever. Furthermore, one stray flashlight can detect Ayana and give her away.

Figuring out the best ways to get the drop on Helios and assassinating them (or taking them down non-lethally) is important. Along with urban sci-fi cities, Ayana ventures to ruins and ancient temples and seeks vengeance for her kind. Stay tuned for more details and gameplay in the meantime.

Along with investigating different clues and tarot cards, players can also visit Houdini to obtain items. He’ll also inscribe various skills, resulting in a rather painful tattooing process. Some skills include Slam, which allows for breaking through weak floors. You can also use lock-picks to bypass some doors. Of course, Fox and his companion aren’t the only ones who can explore the Limbo. Various threats await, so you’ll have to be cautious.

The Last Case of Benedict Fox is out in Spring 2023 for Xbox Series X/S and PC, along with launching day one on Game Pass. For more gameplay, head here. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.

Along with some new weapons and gear, players will also explore new environments. The classic Xenomorphs are present and accounted for, but some have been mutated in twisted ways. A giant boss-like Xenomorph can also be seen at the end, wielding a heavy-looking limb for bashing.

Pathogen also adds new accessories and cosmetics, while a free upgrade adds a new hardcore mode for players to challenge themselves.
