Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Ghosts will be the first of many cross-generational titles, releasing on both the Xbox One and PS4, along with the Xbox 360 and PS3. This is primarily due to the next generation consoles releasing so close to the game, with the Xbox One due in November while the PS4 is out during the Holiday season.

But is it possible that Ghosts could release for the Xbox One and PS4 before the actual consoles?

FutureShop, a Canadian games retail store, believes so. When asked if Battlefield 4 and Call of Duty: Ghosts would both be day one releases for the next gen consoles, the shop responded on Twitter thus:

“@gasdog64: will CoD Ghosts and Battlefield 4 going to be day one games?” We anticipate they will both release BEFORE hardware…

Call of Duty: Ghosts is slated to release on November 5th, with Battlefield 4 due out on October 29th in North America. Is it possible we see the release of the next gen versions of both games before their consoles? Let us know your thoughts below.
