As the follow-up to the 2022 surprise hit (12 million players as of April 2024), PowerWash Simulator 2 includes split-screen and online co-op, the latter supporting four players. New tools include the SwirlForce Floor Cleaner and an Abseiling and Scissor Lift, the former admittedly making little difference to the cleaning process. However, the latter makes it much easier to scale and clean buildings.

It also features a customizable home base where you can place furniture and mementos, the return of Ulysses and her kittens (who you can pet), and much more. A free demo is available on Steam, offering two levels, the starter washers, and more to try before you buy.

Regional prices are also under review to match or cost less than the above at launch. In terms of value and new content, PowerWash Simulator 2 offers a brand-new campaign with new locations, including Sponge Valley and Power Falls. A home base has been added for players to decorate and invite their friends to, alongside new equipment, including more powerful soap types.

Solo play is once again viable, but you can also play online in co-op with campaign progress shared with others. Best of all, split-screen co-op is finally available, allowing those on the couch to clean together. Other features will be revealed in the coming months, so stay tuned.

PowerWash Simulator 2 launches in late 2025 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. It will also be at Gamescom, where attendees can try out its new levels and equipment from August 20th to 24th.

The new trailer sees members of the development team attempting to explain the game in 60 seconds, and revealing new details in the process. PowerWash Simulator 2 will tout a career mode as well as splitscreen co-op, in addition to base building and customization mechanics, and other gameplay tweaks and improvements. PowerWash Simulator 2 will launch sometime later this year for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. A specific release date hasn’t yet been announced. Unlike the first game, published by Square Enix, PowerWash Simulator is going to be self-published by FuturLab. The developer is also promising plenty of post-launch support – which should be no surprise, given the abundant content the first game has received since its 2022 release.

PowerWash Simulator was first released as an early access title back in May 2021. Since then, the game has been released on various other platforms, and has seen the release of DLCs that took players from Lara Croft’s manor to Bikini Bottom, and even Final Fantasy 7‘s Midgar.

Most recently, PowerWash Simulator saw the release of the Warhammer 40,000 Special Pack, which brought with it quite a few new things for players to clean, including an Ultramarines Land Raider, and a Dark Angels Redemptor Dreadnought.

The game has also seen a release away from flat screens, coming to Meta Quest 2, 3, and Pro headsets back in November 2023.

The Warhammer 40,000 collaboration DLC throws PowerWash Simulator players into the shoes of a member of the Adeptus Mechanicus, tasked with performing the ultimate purification protocol and cleaning several pieces of Imperium gear.

Along with cleaning several Imperial vehicles and machines, the player will also quench their thirst for knowledge by finding field reports from the frontlines. To help them with this task, the player is equipped with a custom MKII Aqua-Santica Arquebus power washer.

As part of the new DLC, players will be able to clean a host of Imperial machines and vehicles, including an Ultramarines Land Raider, a Dark Angels Redemptor Dreadnought, an Astra Militarum Rogal Dorn Tank, a House Hawkshroud Imperial Knight, and a Blood Angels Thunderhawk.

Rather than throwing in some Warhammer 40,000-inspired levels into PowerWash Simulator and calling it a day, the DLC instead goes quite in-depth. Players are put into the shoes of a member of the Adeptus Mechanicus and equipped with a custom MKII Aqua-Santica Arquebus power washer.

The DLC will feature a host of different objects and vehicles from Warhammer 40,000 that players will be tasked with cleaning up, including an Ultramarines Land Raider, a Dark Angels Deathwing Redemptor Dreadnought, the Astra Militarum Rogal Dorn Tank, a House Hawkshroud Imperial Knight, and a Blood Angels Thunderhawk.

While all of the new cleaning targets revolve around the Imperium and its various sub-factions, the variety available, ranging from a Land Raider to an Imperial Knight, is quite impressive.

Santa’s Workshop is the latest in a series of major DLC releases PowerWash Simulator has seen since last year. While most DLC releases for the game revolved around collaborations with other properties and titles, Santa’s Workshop is the first one that can be considered a new DLC that doesn’t have anything to do with a pre-existing property aside from Christmas.

The last major DLC release for PowerWash Simulator featured the Back to the Future movie franchise. The DLC brought with it a host of new content related to the classic movie trilogy. The game has also seen DLC revolving around Tomb Raider, Final Fantasy 7, and SpongeBob SquarePants. Currently, FuturLab is working with Games Workshop to bring a Warhammer 40,000-themed DLC to the game.

LEGO 2K Drive launched earlier this year and offered an open-world racing take on the Lego franchise. Players can build vehicles out of Lego blocks, race around Bricklandia in a quest to earn the Sky Trophy and partake in different mini-games and side missions. It also supports cross-play.

PowerWash Simulator is FuturLab’s breakout “clean ’em up”, which revolves around washing things. You have different nozzles and cleaning fluids, while each location in Muckingham offers unique challenges. It even has co-op support and various updates have added locations from games like Final Fantasy 7.

Finally, Sable is a compelling adventure game, as players guide the titular protagonist through a rite of passage, navigating the world on a hoverbike and exploring ancient ruins. As always, all three games will also be available for PlayStation Plus Deluxe and Premium subscribers to claim.

PowerWash Simulator VR brings with it all the content from the original release of the game, which includes more than 40 levels in total. The VR release also features the ability to play the game in co-op.

Owing to it being a VR title, PowerWash Simulator VR also has a few new exclusive features that revolve around aiding immersion in the game. Players can interact with their PowerWash van to pick out the perfect outfit and set of tools they’ll need to take on a level, for example. The game also provides players with a new tool belt which can be used to change nozzles on the tools.

The non-VR version of PowerWash Simulator is gearing up for a host of collaboration DLCs slated for release before 2023 ends. This includes a DLC featuring the Back to the Future franchise, as well as a Warhammer 40,000 DLC.
