Which is the nice way of saying it.

In one of the odder stories to last year, longtime host and anchor on G4TV Adam Sessler left the network for…well, it was never really explained at the time. And almost a year later, the overall firing remains a mystery.

However, Sessler has since struck out at the former gaming channel, which now focuses on content for male audiences, on his Twitter account. Needless to say, he doesn’t hold back.

“Now that G4 has officially become a Men’s channel, maybe they can afford the set of balls to tell me why i was fired. #GottaLetItOut”

Strong words? Sure, but remember that Sessler was removed from the channel with absolutely no explanation. Maybe G4TV wanted to expunge its previous gamer-oriented identity by removing any and all traces of the culture from its channel, extending to the staff themselves?

Whatever the reasons may be, this drama is only getting hotter. How will G4TV respond? Stay tuned.

Aims to be a more "sophisticated, upscale" channel for men.

The shows that gave us Olivia Munn and some truly awful games journalism have finally decided to pack it in. Well, not really, as the decision has been taken by their parent channel. That’s right: G4TV has finally cancelled their (inexplicably) popular “Attack of the Show” and “XPlay”. The final new episodes for each series are set to air in December, after which G4 will undergo a makeover to make it a more “sophisticated, upscale” channel for men.

Adam Stotsky, recently appointed as G4 general manager, told TV Guide that while the shows have been important and altogether groovy for the network, this is intended as a rebranding exercise to shape the channel closer to the likes of magazine GQ. He does intend to honour their contributions however, with farewell episodes featuring past hosts and guests.

And while it may be somewhat of a sad thing to see these shows end (*cough*notreally*cough*), both have had a nice long run. X-Play debuted in 2003 and has about 1300 episodes, with Attack of the Show premiering in 2005 and running 1700 episodes since.

Olivia Munn was once our well known, cute and lovable co-host of ‘Attack of the Show’ on G4TV. She has since moved on to bigger and better things trying to expand her career in show business. We all miss Olivia wild and off the wall tactics on Attack of the Show, but we at GamingBolt.com fully support her choice to better her career… just don’t forget about those fans that helped brings your quirky self to where you are now Olivia!

She is now filling in for Kathy Lee Gifford on The Today Show during the fourth hour until Kathy Lee returns. As if that isn’t enough to put her in the spotlight, she also has a new show called ‘Perfect Couples’ that airs on Thursdays at 8:30pm. She of course brings her unique quirky talent to The Today Show as well as her new show on NBC. Olivia Munn plays the character Leigh on the show. Below is a brief plot description of the show.

“Perfect Couples revolves around three unique couples at various stages in their relationships, yet who face similar problems. Vance and Amy are a couple who fight a lot and have a very active sex life. Rex and Leigh view themselves as relationship experts and therefore a “perfect couple”, while Dave and Julia are considered the normal pair to whom everyone can relate.” – Wikipedia
