Xbox Live’s Games on Demand has some new offerings for this week which include NBA 2K14 and Need for Speed: Rivals, both available for 50 percent off. You can also pick up three Jewelry titles and Spanish Commentary add-ons for 50 percent off. These offers will be good until April 28th.

NBA 2K14 comes by way of Visual Concepts and 2K Sports, and is arguably one of the best basketball games you can get today. It offers revamped controls and improved visuals along with tons of new innovations. Ghost Games’ Need for Speed: Rivals is the latest iteration in EA’s racing franchise which offers the traditional street racing and cop battles that adorned the best entries in the franchise.

Both games are definitely worth a look even on the Xbox 360. Which games would you like to see next for Xbox Live’s Games on Demand? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

The Xbox 360 version will be a strictly retail release for now.

Bluepoint Games’ Xbox 360 version of Titanfall turned out to be an extremely solid port when it released recently worldwide. However, it seems it will be limited strictly to a retail release as EA has confirmed no digital downloadable version for Xbox Live’s Games on Demand.

“After extensive testing, we felt that it simply did not represent the true Titanfall experience and it was decided not to release a Games on Demand version.

“As we never officially announced that Titanfall would be available via Games on Demand and the option to purchase it that way should have never been offered. We hope players understand this decision was all about quality and making sure you get the best Titanfall experience.”

So if you’ve been hoping to pick up Titanfall for the Xbox 360 through Xbox Live, you’re out of luck at this point. What could have motivated EA to take this decision? Stay tuned for more information.

Call of Duty Ghosts rounds up this year for the Xbox 360.

The final game in Microsoft’s holiday Xbox Live sale is Call of Duty: Ghosts on the Xbox 360, and it is available at a pretty sweet discount to everyone worldwide on Games on Demand.

The digital download of the game is available at 30% off to UK owners, 29% off to the rest of Europe, 25% off to Australian owners, and 20% off for the rest of the world (look, Australia got thrown a bone for a change!) wrote Major Nelson on his blog.

Call of Duty: Ghosts isn’t the only big game to be available at a discounted price either- Grand Theft Auto V, Diablo III, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, and NCAA Football 14 are all available at discounts until January 1, 2014 as well.

Microsoft has really kicked it up with Games on Demand lately- the service used to only put up older retail games up for download, but after Nintendo and Sony’s digital initiatives, Microsoft has been working to bring its digital retail offerings up to the mark too.

Are you one of the poor souls who bought Resident Evil 6, Capcom’s horrifying attempt at “reinventing” the franchise with horrible graphics, terrible plot twists, atrocious pacing and clunky controls? Well congratulations, because Capcom just reduced the price despite the game only releasing some two months ago. However this is relegated to the Xbox 360 version, since RE6 is now available via Games on Demand at £24.99 GBP.

Considering the current retail price sits around £49.99 GBP, that’s quite a bargain. Though given the poor critical reception and generally foul word of mouth publicity surrounding the game, we doubt it’ll make much difference to the reportedly poor sales reception of the game thus far.

Check out our review of Resident Evil 6 in which we called it a “messy, ill-constructed smorgasbord of action, chasing from one impulse to the next, endlessly burning itself until there’s nothing left, let-alone the rotting skin and bones.” Of course that’s just one man’s (second) opinion.

Sleeping Dogs, which came out a few months back for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, is now available for Xbox 360 users to download digitally via Xbox Live’s Games on Demand. You can buy it for $44.99 and then wait a few weeks while the game downloads.

Yes, that’s all.

When we reviewed Sleeping Dogs, we gave it a solid 8.5/10 and said that while it doesn’t “break new ground”, it “delivers enough content and visuals to get Square-Enix out of the dog house.”

Our reviewer praised it for having a great story that was well paced, but pointed out a few errors such as unpolished controls.

Our reviewer concluded by saying that fans of open world games such as Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption might enjoy this game, but also said that it “isn’t a perfect hit”.

As most of you may know of the ON Live service that lets you play game on your computer even if it is a piece of crap and still looks great with essentially no lag is having a Special Sale this weekend only! How does $5.00 sound for Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days for the PC this Friday? Additionally Just Cause 2 will be 50% off this Saturday April 30th making it $14.99 along with 75% off Batman Arkham Asylum this Sunday only running you only $7.50 which are all a steal in my book. You can try all the demo for free as well.
