They are currently working on the script, and the project will soon start again.

He says their main focus will be to re-work the story and bring the budget of the movie down. The original budget of $100 million was a bit too much, and seemed a huge risk to several studios, says Blaszinski.

The Gears movie was originally shut down earlier this year when director Len Wiseman left the project.
