Nvidia’s Game Ready Drivers are continuously updated, with the support from the GPU manufacturer helping games both look their best and take minimal effort to get looking that way. Version 397.64 (WHQL) now out brings optimizations for several new releases, including Conan Exiles, Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire and the new Destiny 2 expansion, Warmind.

You can find some of the updates below, including both some now fixed and some still open issues for both Windows 10 and Windows 7 users. You can find those closed issues just below the story, but we’re going to call out some of the bigger persisting issues and their workarounds.

Far Cry 5 players trying to use HDR with non-native resolutions can resolve the green flickering by restarting the game while in their desired settings, or [Alt+Tab] out of the game and back into it. Wolfenstein II and Gears of War 4 players may also still experience crashes occasionally, regardless of their OS.

Fixed Issues

[Starcraft 2][Kepler GPUs]: Black screen appears when exiting the game. [2070566]

[SLI][GeForce GTX 780 Ti]: There is no display output when connecting the DisplayPort and two DVI monitors. [1835763]

[Netflix]: Netflix playback may stutter intermittently. [2094867]

[GeForce GTX 1060]: Windows Device Manager may report Code 43 error. [2109135]

Event Error 14 appears in the Windows Event Viewer when booting into Windows.[2109510]

GDI objects increase every time an application queries NVAPI. [2109232]

[Windows 10]: Driver may get removed after the PC has been left idle for an extended
period of time. [2110591]

980 Ti performance at 970 prices?

An official announcement for Nvidia’s next-gen GeForce lineup is set to drop very soon. This leak indicates that Nvidia’s Editor’s Event will take place on May 6th, at which time the at least two GeForce cards—presumably the GTX 1080 and 1070—will be announced. Following this, the new Pascal Cards will have a hard launch at Computex 2016, and will be available on the market by June.

Earlier last month, Nvidia outed the Tesla P100 their first Pascal GPU on the new Pascal architecture. While the P100 was nothing short of awe-inspiring, Nvidia has yet to announce Pascal SKUs for its consumer GeForce series. With the transition to the 16nm process node, the performance implications for any consumer Pascal card are tremendous: Radically reduced power consumption is a given—earlier this year, AMD demoed one of their 14nm Polaris GPUs, showcasing how the next-gen part offered performance on par with a GTX 950, while consuming only a bit more than half the power. The flip side of the power consumption equation is that Pascal cards will likely offer a lot of headroom for overclocking.

The GTX 970 was a unique value proposition: the Maxwell architecture offered enough thermal headroom to allow most 970s to overclock to 1400 MHz and beyond, touching stock GTX 980 performance levels. If the 970’s Pascal successor should have ample overclocking headroom and may for the first time, offer playable 4K experiences at a mainstream pricepoint. We’ll let you know as soon as we get further information on the Pascal launch. Stay tuned!

Thanks, Wccftech.

More and more fans had begun to note recently that having the option to stream to Shield devices enabled, which is the default setting on the GeForce Experience software, was having a noticeable impact on the visual performance and quality of their video games. The reason for this was a bug that was causing the NVIDIA Shield Streamer Service to use excess CPU cycles on some PCs.

Nvidia has responded to this issue by releasing a new update for the software, which basically means CPU cycles aren’t actually used unless you are streaming the game to your Shield device.

The full changelog of the new update is below:

Bug fixes for intermittent user accounts and application crash issues.

Fixed a bug that was causing the NVIDIA Streamer Service to use excess CPU cycles on some PCs.

You can download the new version from here. And remember to stay tuned to GamingBolt for more PC gaming news.

"More than quadruples performance for millions of gamers."

NVidia have introduced two new, what they are calling “high-performnace” GPUs, called GeForce GTX 660 and GeForce GTX 650, both of which are Kepler-based, and will “allow more gamers to experience the richness of next-generation PC gaming.”

The game will be paired with a lineup of games that will be supporting DX11, including Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Assassin’s Creed III and World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria.

GTX 660 and GTX 650 are priced starting $229 and $109 respectively, and will be available on almost all major add-in card suppliers, including- ASL, ASUS, Colorful, ECS, EVGA, Gainward, Galaxy, Gigabyte, Innovision 3D, Jetway, Leadtek, MSI, Palit, Point of View, PNY, Sparkle and Zotac.

The GeForce GTX 660 represents a phenomenal upgrade opportunity for gamers still playing games on last-generation graphics technology. For the millions of gamers still gaming on the GeForce 9800 GT, the 4X performance improvement[i] delivered by the GTX 660 will be an upgrade temptation not easily resisted. Similarly, the GTX 650 delivers an 8X performance improvement over the 9500 GT[ii], allowing gamers to step up to the GTX family with a low-cost solution that delivers a significant boost in performance.

Packed with cutting-edge technologies integrated into the NVIDIA Kepler architecture—including DirectX 11 Tessellation, NVIDIA PhysX, NVIDIA Adaptive VSync, and Temporal Anti-Aliasing (TXAA)—only GeForce GTX GPUs, such as the new GTX 660 and GTX 650, will ensure gamers have the most immersive gaming experience possible.
