The collaboration will add three new cosmetics based on the celebrated film series, though armor sets have yet to be revealed.

Bungie’s Destiny 2 has received several collaborations over the past few years, from Mass Effect to The Witcher and even PlayStation Studios franchises like God of War, Ghost of Tsushima and Horizon. However, its next is probably the most surprising yet – Ghostbusters.

The official Twitter revealed an image of three cosmetics – a Sparrow, Ghost Shell and what could be a new Skimmer. They’re based on the adorably gross Slimer and the Ectomobile, though it’s likely that armor sets are also inbound. The reason behind the collaboration could probably be to promote the upcoming film Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, releasing on April 19th.

Stay tuned for more details as the collab goes live on March 19th. Destiny 2 is available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC. It’s set to receive its next paid expansion, The Final Shape, on June 4th, with Bungie planning to reveal additional details this Spring.

Ernie Hudson seems to collaborate some earlier rumblings that a new game is being developed.

The Ghostbusters franchise seems to be back in a big way with this summer’s release of the newest film, Ghostbusters: Afterlife. The series has been dormant for a good while, especially so in the video game space. The last time we saw it in the gaming world was Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered, a re-release of the 2009 title that reunited the original cast for a new story. Now it seems the time is coming once again to be busting in gaming form.

Actor Ernie Hudson, who plays Winston Zeddemore in the films, confirmed in a panel at a fan convention that there is a new game in the works. He said they are in the process of doing scheduling for recording, saying that he and Dan Aykroyd will be involved, though was unsure if Bill Murray would be. He didn’t give much details about the project or who was making it, saying that he didn’t know when it would be out. You can see part 1 of the panel where Hudson speaks about the game below.

While there has been nothing official as of yet about this game, as broken down by the Ghostbusters News YouTube channel, which you can also see below, earlier this year Illfonic’s Raphael Saadiq mentioned the company was working on a Ghostbusters game in an music-based podcast. Illfonic worked on Friday the 13th and Predator: Hunting Grounds, pointing to a potential multiplayer title.

Considering how little we know about this game, it’s hard to say when it’ll come out, but either way, it seems the Ghostbusters are going to stage a grand comeback in another medium at some point in the relative near future.

A complete video walkthrough for Ghostbusters.

You may have missed it, given that the news of the new movie, which apparently is either not as bad as feared, or even worse than imagined, depending on whom you ask, dominating conversation around the brand- but a new Ghostbusters game also launched this week. It’s… not very good, and unlike with the new movie, there is no question about its not being very good.

If, somehow, you find yourself straddled with the game, and also unable to get rid of it, and you find yourself somehow faced with the horrific prospect of actually playing it- well, first of all, I feel terrible for you. But more importantly, you probably don’t want to spend any more time than necessary thinking about it- which means you want someone else to do the thinking for you each time you’re stuck in the game.

That’s where this guide comes in. It’s a full walkthrough of Ghostbusters, start to end. You should use it each time you get stuck in the game. Alternatively, you can just watch this video, or pretend to have watched it, and then convince yourself that that’s good enough to sub in for actually having played the game. I know I’d do that.

Monster Hunters, aliens and more coming in July.

July isn’t exactly the most bustling month when it comes to video games (and what a coincidence – June wasn’t exactly all that hot either). But that doesn’t mean there aren’t some awesome titles to look forward, whether you’re interested in a hack and slash dungeon crawler or a Metroidvania title from Insomniac. There’s plenty to look forward to, especially as we roll into one of the busiest periods of the year.

Ghostbusters

We know what you’re thinking. “Ghostbusters? The game based on the remake? Are you serious?” Well, the good news is that FireForge Games action title, which supports co-op, will feature a brand new cast of characters. In fact, they seem to be high school students. We can sense your enthusiasm waning but hey, Extreme Ghostbusters had high school students and it was a pretty good show. Yes? No? July 12th is the date so yeah. Get hyped.

Furi

Unfamiliar with The Game Bakers’ Furi? It’s every bit as trippy as it is compelling. This third person hack and slash title is comprised of nothing but boss fights, one-on-one duels that rely entirely on skill and your reflexes as you battle for freedom. If that weren’t enough, Afro Samurai creator Takashi Okazaki is in charge of character designs, lending even more flair in the visuals and combat. Keep an eye out on July 5th for its PC and PS4 release.

Necropolis

Harebrained Schemes’ next big game…isn’t a Shadowrun title. That’s cause for attention but Necropolis is more than a deviation from the norm. It’s a third person action RPG set in a labyrinth full of treasure and danger. Not only will the environments be constantly changing but you’ll even encounter other dead adventurers as enemies. If that weren’t enough, up to four players can traverse into the labyrinth together, hopefully holding hands as they die.

Song of the Deep

Insomniac Games’ Song of the Deep isn’t quite what you’d expect from the developer behind Sunset Overdrive and Ratchet & Clank. As its first game with GameTrust, GameStop’s publishing initiative, Song of the Deep sees players as Merryn heading under the sea to rescue her father. With a rudimentary submarine, Merryn will encounter various phenomenon in what’s essentially a Metroidvania-esque adventure. Song of the Deep will be out on PS4, PC and Xbox One on July 12th.

I Am Setsuna

An RPG on the theme of sadness may not necessarily tickle your fancy but I Am Setsuna – which is out on July 19th for PS4, PC and PS Vita – will channel the golden age of RPGs as per Square Enix. How will that translate to the West? Regardless, it’s an old-school RPG from Square Enix’s new Tokyo RPG Factory. That’s reason enough to check it out.

Obduction

If you’re a fan of the Miller brothers and their Myst series, then Obduction is a return of sorts. Cyan Worlds’ first person adventure title sees the player kidnapped by aliens and exploring several foreign worlds in an attempt to return home. Along with the traditional puzzle solving that we love (and loathe) Myst for, Obduction is set to feature the same visually arresting locales and laid-back exploration that its predecessor is known for. Time will how well this plays out in 2016 but you can play Obduction yourself on July 26th to find out.

Monster Hunter Generations

Released in Japan under the name Monster Hunter X, Monster Hunter Generations will be heading to North America and Europe on July 15th for the 3DS. Along with the trademark combat that the series is known for, Monster Hunter Generations will feature different hunting styles for weapons, new Hunting Arts (which essentially act as special moves that have to be charged up every once in a while). And really, it’s a Monster Hunter title. If you love those games, you’ll love this.

10 Second Ninja X

10 Second Ninja X is a fast paced sidescroller in which you need to complete each level in 10 seconds. Don’t expect any hand holding and checkpoints – what does this look like, a walk in the park? The game has 100 levels with 40 levels remastered from the original game to essentially create a brand new experience.

Dare we hope...?

The developer of the new Ghostbusters game has been a bit of a total mystery, for no reason whatsoever, ever since the game was originally announced. This had led many to speculate that this might be because the game would have some really terrible developer attached to it- essentially, people began to assume the worst. However, now the cat is out of the bag, thanks to this month’s The Official PlayStation Magazine UK.

The magazine is running a cover story on the game, and it has revealed that the studio developing this game is newly formed Fireforge, which is formed of industry veterans. The studio is quick to point out that this may be its debut game, but it is not the first game that the studio’s people have worked on. It also seems as though the team began work on the new title over a year ago, and intend to do full justice to the source material.

All in all, it sounds encouraging- although something worth considering here is that tie in games always look good, until they are out, and then they are not. We’d still be wary of this new game, that’s all we are saying.

[Thanks Games Asylum]

Back in January, there was talk that a brand new Ghostbusters game was being put together by Activision. Now that game has an official trailer. The game centers on four players, which can either be guys or girls as they fight against all kinds of ghosts.

There still isn’t a ton of information available about this game, as Activision isn’t really talking on this topic. We do know the game is set to release on the PS4, Xbox One and PC and it will be coming on July 12.

That means this new Ghostbusters game will be releasing right around the time the reboot movie hits theaters. The multiplayer feature seems like a nice touch, though it would have been weird if it didn’t allow a team, considering both generations of the movie feature four people. Here’s hoping this Ghostbusters game, launching on the PS4, Xbox One and PC on July 12 can wash out the bad taste of Sanctum of Slime from our collective mouths.
