Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection launched for the Switch earlier this year, bringing the niche franchise with the cult following back into the limelight. With its timed exclusivity period on Nintendo’s hybrid up, the game was recently confirmed to be coming to additional platforms. Now, the specific release date of the game’s multiplatform launch has been confirmed.

Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection will release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on June 1st, Capcom has announced. People who pre-order the game will get one-day early access on May 31 on consoles and a “Special Wallpaper & Mini Soundtrack Set” on PC.

Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection previously released on Nintendo Switch on February 25th. In our review of the game, we awarded it a score of 8/10, calling it “a surprisingly great modern rendition of the classic franchise that manages to be more accessible while never once letting up on the soul crushing challenge that has come to be synonymous with the series.” You can check out our review of the game here.

After launching for the Nintendo Switch in February, Capcom’s Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection is coming to Xbox One, PS4 and PC via Steam. A release date hasn’t been announced but the latest trailer notes that it’s “coming soon.” Check it out below.

Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection is an homage to Capcom’s brutally difficult Ghosts ‘n Goblins and Ghouls ‘n Ghosts titles. It sees Arthur once again battling to defeat the Demon Lord and save the princess, fighting off hordes of foes like the Zombie, Pigman, Red Arremer and more. Utilizing RE Engine for storybook-style visuals, the title also adds new foes along with new weapons, skills and more.

Two-player local co-op is also available with three unique characters that can accompany Arthur. Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection also sports several difficulty options like Page Mode, which provides unlimited lives and the ability to respawn at the same location. For more details, check out our review here.

Later this month, we’ll get a revival of the classic Ghosts ‘n Goblins with Resurrection. The game has a new look, but also harken to the old school series in a variety of ways. One of those ways is said to be the franchise’s notorious difficulty, being some of the most punishing games ever produced. Though, it seems Resurrection will give you some relief if need be.

In the third dev diary from Capcom on the title, Producer Peter Fabiano talked about the multiple ways you can tackle the game. It will come with four different modes: Page, Squire, Knight and Legend. According to Fabiano, Knight will be the usual challenge you’ve come to expect from the series, with Legend being a truly brutal challenge, and Squire giving a slight challenge. Page is said to be aimed at pure accessibly. You can see the full video below.

Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection will release only on Nintendo Switch on February 25th.

Later this month, an old classic will return with Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection. It won’t just be the same thing with a new coat of paint, however. Sir Arthur has a lot up his sleeve this go around, and we got a nice look at it today.

They have shown several new options for Arthur earlier, showing this entry has a lot of new tricks you’ll be able to utilize in your quest. Via the official Capcom Twitter, they have shown a little more in practice. You can see below that you can use a crossbow, discus and shield against enemies. They all function slightly different, so you can use them in different situations potentially. Alongside this they also show another new item, the gold armor. Having it will power up your weapons even more, though if you know the series, you also know that just one hit is all it takes to lose.

Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection will release on February 25th only on the Nintendo Switch

The game's producer talks about the art direction and how to use abilities.

Next month will see the return of Sir Arthur and his legendary franchise with Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection. The game is looking to be quite the return to form for the long dormant series with a new look and some new abilities to boot. Both of which were the subject of the most recent dev diary.

In the second dev diary, producer Peter Fabiano talked about the art style. It’s a little different than what fans have had in the past, and he said the Director wanted to capture the look of an old school picture book, and that 3D didn’t quite gel with that they wanted. He also confirmed the game is being built on a version of Capcom’s RE Engine.

He also briefly touched on new abilities. Unlike the previous titles, you’ll have a list of different things you can do, which Fabiano says will give players more options for how they want to play. While he doesn’t detail any, you do see a few in the video, and you can see even more in the game’s pre-order video.

Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection will release on the Nintendo Switch February 25th. You can check out the first dev diary, which was all about the game’s homage to its roots and punishment it can deal out, through here.

Capcom has a lot of iconic IPs in their graveyard, and next month one of those will rise from the grave as Sir Arthur will return with Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection. The game was announced to be coming to the Switch and also promised a lot of pain and punishment. The pre-order is now live with some new details on what to expect.

If you’re maybe intimated by the legacy of the game as being hard as nails, it will have multiple difficulty levels to chose from. You briefly see the option in the trailer, and how it equates to the amount of enemies on the screen. In the video you also see the use of weapons and magic you will use against foes, as well as ‘Shadow’ levels, which are remixed and more difficult versions of levels that can be accessed after clearing them regularly. It also ends with what appears to be a very sped up version of a boss fight, possibly hinting at some other alternate mode or speed toggle.

Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection will release on Nintendo Switch on February 25th, and will be a digital-only title that will retail for $29.99 USD.
It was the end of 2020 when the surprise announcement came that a very old school Capcom franchise would be making a return with Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection. For those familiar with the storied franchise, the announcement trailer probably bought back lots of memories of some of the hardest games that’s graced the industry. Well, it seems that was part of the intent as Capcom is promising lots of homage and pain to come.

In the first dev video, Producers Yoshiaki Hirabayashi and Peter Fabiano talk about what to expect for the revival. They mention they are working with the original Director of the series to get a strong feeling of nostalgia. They also talk about the many homages, such as the forest seen in the original reveal trailer and lots of other elements to celebrate the franchise’s 35th anniversary that harken to both the first game and its sequels under various names, such as Ghosts ‘n Ghouls. They also reference the game’s notorious difficulty and say they plan to retain that for Resurrection.

Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection will launch exclusively on Nintendo Switch February 25th.
