Camelot's acclaimed RPGs from the Game Boy Advance era are finally playable on Nintendo Switch for Expansion Pack subscribers.

Two of the best role-playing games ever made have been added to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. These are Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age, now playable on the Nintendo Switch for subscribers after launching on Game Boy Advance.

Developed by Camelot, Golden Sun is about Isaac, who uses Synergy and Djinns to achieve magical feats. After mysterious individuals seize the elemental stars and their friend Jenna, Isaac embarks on a journey with Garet to get them back. Ivan and Mia join them, and the group venture to different elemental Lighthouses to stop their activation.

Golden Sun: The Lost Age follows Fenix, Jenna and Sheba, who are on the other side of the conflict. It offers expanded worlds to explore, deeper combat and more twisted puzzles on top of improved visuals. Both titles were acclaimed for their presentation, story-telling and gameplay. Another sequel, Golden Sun: Dark Dawn, would be released later for Nintendo DS.

The legendary RPGs from the Game Boy Advance's lineup are coming to the Nintendo Switch next week.

Nintendo has announced that January 17 will see the addition of two legendary RPGs from the Game Boy Advance on to the Nintendo Switch’s online service. Nintendo Switch Online will see the addition of Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age to its roster of classic games. The RPG duo was confirmed to be coming to the service nearly a year ago, but a release date had remained elusive until now.

Nintendo made the release announcement in a post on Twitter, along with a short trailer showcasing the classic RPGs, which are widely considered to be two of the best titles in the Game Boy Advance’s already-impressive line-up.

Among other things, the trailer shows off some of the key gameplay features of the Golden Sun games, such as the ability to summon epic creatures for massive attacks, as well as the ability to combine different elemental attacks for new effects that could help in taking down more powerful enemies.

Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age, being Game Boy Advance titles, will only be available to players subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pass, rather than being available for base Nintendo Switch Online subscribers.

Check out some of the most over-the-top, comical and devastating summons.

What makes a great summon? Is it the ability to wreak utter devastation? Is it the summoning animation that’s either intricate, succinct or a fine balance between the two? Maybe it’s the overarching impact on the gameplay and story of a role-playing game. Let’s take a look at 15 of the best summons in RPGs and what makes them so good.

Judgment – Golden Sun

Djinns in Golden Sun were fairly straightforward but combining them wielded some devastating results. The true power move was utilizing four of the same element to bring in the heaviest of hitters. While the main difference is the amount of damage dealt by a specific element, Judgment is still perhaps the most iconic. There’s nothing quite like a winged knight with a lion shield decimating everything on the surface in spectacular yet quick fashion.

Take a look back at Nintendo's best boss fights over the years.

When we think of memorable boss fights, the likes of Final Fantasy, Dark Souls, Persona and Mega Man X come to mind. It’s amazing to look back on Nintendo’s history then and marvel at just how many awesome boss fights it’s had throughout its numerous franchises and consoles. Let’s take a look at 15 of the best Nintendo-exclusive bosses through the decades.

Bowser – Super Mario 64

Super Mario 64 was a series of firsts for many Nintendo fans. But it also offered one of the most memorable battles with Bowser ever. It was simple – the Koopa King was huge and Mario was small. The only way to defeat him was to grab his tale, swing the analog stick to get enough speed, aim for the bombs surrounding the arena and release Bowser to damage him. Simple but unique and fairly challenging on the third go-around, Bowser’s 64-form remains an iconic fight.
