Microsoft has announced its Xbox Live Games With Gold titles for July. These include Drinkbox Studios’ Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition for the Xbox One while the Xbox 360 will be receiving Gotham City Impostors and BattleBlock Theater.

Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition is one of the cooler brawling platformers to arrive in a long time as you take the role of a masked luchador Juan Aguacate who must rescue the Mexican president’s daughty. This means much brawling, many elbow drops and tons of secrets to uncover. You can pick up Guacamelee! on July 2nd – it will be replacing Halo: Spartan Assault.

Meanwhile, for Xbox 360 players, there will be Gotham City Impostors, which sees two six player teams fighting using Batman and Joker-inspired weapons. It will be available on July 1st to 15th. From July 16th to 31st, you’ll have a chance to pick up The Behemoth’s BattleBlock Theater. The puzzle platformer sees you jumping, fighting and trying to survive against some seriously demented and intelligent cats.

This download includes the original game, all DLC packs and more. Already that’s a boatload of content available for zilch, but Warner Bros isn’t done yet. There will also be join-in-progress matchmaking, so that any gamer who logs on can proceed into a nice, populated match right off the bat.

And since up to 12 players can join up for a single super-hero posing team, you can bet there’s plenty of fun and chaos to get out of the deal.

Developed by Monolith Productions, Gotham City Impostors was released for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this past February 2012. There’s no word on whether the game will become free-to-play on consoles however.

WB Games Seattle were behind Lord of the Rings Guardian of Middle-earth and their most recent outing was with Gotham City Impostors.

A Warner Bros. representative stated: “Due to shifting business imperatives, WB Games Seattle has made staff reductions. The group will continue to remain an integral part of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.”

Last year WB laid off 60 employees from its Seattle studio, with a previous 25 having been axed the year before.

Gotham City Impostors has been moved to February. Ye, it has been delayed.

Gotham City Impostors is an original download-only first-person shooter where up to 12 players battle for control of an unhinged Gotham City overrun by Impostors inspired by the DC Comics characters Batman and The Joker. Gotham City Impostors is an online multiplayer game unlike any other, giving players the opportunity to engage in unconventional urban warfare as they personalize their own Impostors. Gamers will create their very own version of the Bats or the Jokerz characters using unprecedented customization options including insane costumes, homemade gadgets and a wide range of traditional and inventive weapons. The game will feature maps and modes inspired by DC Comics’ Batman license.
