The publisher has announced that Granblue Fantasy: Versus has sold over 1 million units worldwide across all platforms. The game, which received its final update earlier this year, had sold over 450,000 units as of November 2020, so it’s maintained decent momentum where its sales are concerned.

Of course, Granblue Fantasy fans have plenty to look forward to in the coming months. The follow-up to Versus, Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, is set to launch for PS5, PS4, and PC in November, while action RPG Granblue Fantasy: Relink is due out sometime this Winter. Cygames recently also confirmed that new details on both games will be shared in September, so stay tuned.

Cygames and Arc System Works confirmed at Granblue Fantasy Fes 2022-2023 that the update would have minor gameplay adjustments and adjustments for some characters. Players can also select boss music from RPG Mode when playing Standard matches. Blitz Mode will be available until June, while the Boss Battle Time Attack event is going to end.

Released in 2020, Granblue Fantasy: Versus is available for PS4, PS5 and PC. It’s received several DLC characters over the years and crossed 450,000 in digital sales and total shipments worldwide as of November 2020. Check out our review of the base game here. Rush is a dash that is invincible to strikes on start-up (projectiles can still deal damage). It consumes 50 percent of the Skybound Art (SBA) Gauge and allows for closing in on an opponent. You can also link normal attacks with it to extend combos.

Backshift is a backstep that also consumes 50 percent of the SBA Gauge. It also provides invincibility from startup and by holding back and L2, it allows for avoiding pressure from an opponent when getting up from a knockdown. Finally, there’s Overdrive which activates with 100 percent SBA Gauge and when the Overdrive icon flashes.

Usable only once per round and invincible on startup, it raises the user’s attack, adds chip damage to attacks, and nullifies enemy chip damage. It also enhances your simple commands and overhead while allowing you to activate Skybound Arts and Super Skybound Arts at any time (though this reduces the gauge to zero). Overdrive depletes over time and taking any damage causes one-third of it being lost.

The results of the Playable Character Survey have also been revealed with Sandalphon, Siegfried and Beatrix mostly leading the pack in each region. Cygames will consider future playable characters based on this, though characters that aren’t on any of these lists may also become playable. Finally, the Granblue Fantasy: Versus Cygames Cup 2022 Summer is slated to take place in July.

Granblue Fantasy: Versus is currently available for PS4 and PC – you can check out our review here. It’s had three Character Passes and multiple updates since launching in March 2020. Whether it will receive rollback netcode like Arc System Works’ other titles like BlazBlue: Central Fiction and BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle remains to be seen.

The livestream will provide details on the Granblue Fantasy mobile title along with what’s coming in the future. Though it seems like a long shot, there may be new details on Granblue Fantasy: Relink, the action RPG announced in 2016 for PS4 (and later for PS5). Cygames confirmed in December last year that the title would be releasing in 2022 so it remains to be seen if there will be an update.

Cygames has confirmed that the Granblue Fantasy Fes 2020 will be taking place next weekend, from December 12th to 13th. The company hasn’t outlined what can be expected (more details on that are coming tomorrow). But it has teased some details on Granblue Fantasy: Relink, its action RPG that’s been in development for PS4.

Announced way back in August 2016, Granblue Fantasy: Relink was being handled by Cygames and PlatinumGames. The latter announced the end of its contract last year in February with Cygames handling the full development process. A new trailer released in December 2019, highlighting the game’s co-op combat but since then, very little new information has been offered.

That could change next weekend so stay tuned. Updates on Granblue Fantasy: Versus, which crossed 450,000 units in digital sales and worldwide shipments recently, could also be incoming. Perhaps we’ll learn more about the next fighter in Character Pass 2 (the last DLC addition was Cagliostro).

Cygames and Arc System Works continue to support Granblue Fantasy: Versus, the animated fighting game based on the former’s successful mobile RPG. Sales-wise, it’s managed to cross 450,000 units in digital sales and global shipments. The last reported figure was 350,000 in April 2020, which means 100,000 additional units have been shipped/sold since.

Since launch, the developer has released a number of DLC characters, the last being Cagliostro as part of Character Pass 2. Four more characters are yet to be revealed and released so there’s plenty to look forward to in addition to other updates. Expect more quests and weapons in RPG Mode in the coming months.

Granblue Fantasy: Versus is currently available for PS4 and PC. Cygames also has Granblue Fantasy: Relink, an action RPG with co-op support, in development. New details are expected to be revealed in December, perhaps bringing us closer to a release date. There might even be a PS5 version announced. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.

In extremely short order, Cygames’ Granblue Fantasy: Versus has released its final DLC fighter from Character Pass 1. Zooey is now available with update 1.31 and brings her sword and shield techniques to the fray. Aside from the Character Pass, it’s possible to purchase Zooey separately for $6.99.

Her set, like previous fighters, includes a lobby avatar, star character icon, two more quests for RPG Mode and a serial code for Granblue Fantasy (though this is only for PS4 players). Zooey is interesting for her usage of parries, lightning magic and quick movement.

Though Zooey is the last DLC fighter for this current season, another Character Pass will launch this Fall. Players can also expect new Main Quests for RPG Mode, starting with Episodes 41 to 45 in the Summer and Episodes 46 to 50 in early 2021. Granblue Fantasy: Versus recently hit 350,000 units in digital sales and worldwide shipments so it should be interesting to see how its post-launch support pans out.

Arc System Works and Cygames’ recently released fighter Granblue Fantasy: Versus has crossed another sales milestone. Cygames recently took to Twitter via the game’s official page and announced that it has surpassed 350,000 units in worldwide shipments and digital sales. At last count, the figure stood at 200,000 in Japan.

In the tweet, they also issued a reminder that the upcoming DLC bringing Zooey as a playable character will be landing soon (she arrives on April 28), before saying that more updates are on the way as well. Two DLC characters – Djeeta and Soriz – were added to the game earlier this month.

Cygames’ Granblue Fantasy: Versus will receive its final DLC fighter for the current Character Pass Set on April 28th. It’s Zooey, Grand Order manifested, and the one who seeks to achieve balance. She fights with a sword and shield along with two dragons – Dyrn and Lyrn. Check out her moves in the trailer below.

Along with sword attacks and parrying with her shield, Zooey also makes use of lightning magic to decimate foes. She moves quickly and can use her dragons to unleash powerful super attacks when necessary. All in all, a fitting end to the current season of DLC fighters.

The next Character Pass Set, signaling the start of Season 2, will be in fall but that’s not all. The publisher has confirmed that new main quests will be coming to RPG Mode, the game’s single-player campaign. Main Quest: Episode 41 to 45 will be out this Summer while Main Quest: Episode 46 to 50 will release in early 2021. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
