The developer will provide a slice of its content in January with a free demo on PS4 and PS5. However, the journey doesn’t end at launch, as two new characters are coming in April 2024.

The first is Seofon, voiced by Junichi Suwabe in Japanese and Alejandro Saab in English. He leads the Eternals, a group of legendary warriors and can create spirit swords using energy from fallen enemies. The second is Tweyen, voiced by Yuuko Minaguchi in Japanese and by Giselle Fernandez in English. She’s also a member of the Eternals, uses a bow to fight and can fly.

Cygames also confirmed that Cagliostro will be available at launch. Her addition brings the base roster up to 19 characters, from protagonists Gran and Djeeta to fan favorites like Zooey and Percival.

Lilith is the leader of the Pilgrims of Avia, who guides followers to Estalucia, the Astrals’ home. Gallanza is Lilith’s general and wields a spear.

Finally, there’s Maglielle, a magus loyal to Lilith who also leads the Sword Veil Fellowship and utilizes magic blades. Each boss has unique mechanics, like Excavallion requiring players to clamber up its massive body to defeat him.

Along with assist modes, it confirmed over 100 quests to embark on (including endgame content). These are likely part of Quest Mode, which players can tackle solo or with up to three other players. How extensive the quests will be remains to be seen, but for player progression, Cygames touted an “abundance of side quests.”

Perhaps these are part of the main story? Time will tell, but players can also look forward to collectibles. Granblue Fantasy: Relink launches on February 1st, 2024, for PS4, PS5 and PC. Eleven characters from the base roster will be playable, and though they haven’t been confirmed, you can expect protagonists Gran and Djeeta to be included. Completing Story Mode and Quest Mode from the demo also provides rewards for use in the game. Unfortunately, the demo won’t be coming to Steam.
