That's some grave news right there.

I don’t know what it is about Halloween that makes all game makers try to make their horror themed releases and/or announcements around that time. I mean, are you all trying to cash in on the holiday flavor? Jeez.

Anyway, Grave, the open world horror game that was already announced to be coming to the Xbox One and PC, has now also been announced for the PlayStation 4. The game, which was crowdfunded via Kickstarter, was initially announced with the sole objective of, and I quote, ‘scaring the living crap out of players.’ So that’s something. And now, PS4 owners can get the crap scared out of them right alongside their Xbox and PC brethren too!

You can check out the latest trailer for the game above. Alternatively, if you are hankering for something a bit more interactive, you can just go ahead and download the demo of its latest build here.

Grave launches in 2015.

Back the game with $25 or more and receive an Xbox One copy when the funding goal is reached.

Broken Window’s Grave originally began life on Kickstarter as an indie horror title for PC, Mac and Linux. However, it will now be releasing on Xbox One in 2015 alongside previously announced versions.

The project currently stands at $23,031 with four days of funding remaining. It’s still yet to achieve its $30,000 goal but the developer has stated that backers who contribute $25 or more will receive an Xbox One copy when the project is fully funded.

Described as a procedural survival horror set in a surreal open world setting, the world of Grave sees you defending yourself against creatures vulnerable to light. You’ll be heading to a destroyed city and forest which can be altered as time goes on and will more enemies with each passing day.

Head here if you’re interested in helping to fund the game. It certainly looks compelling enough to warrant a full-scale release. Let us know what you think of Grave heading to Xbox One in the comments.

Procedural, surrealist horror game bound for Xbox One.

Originally announced for PC with native Oculus Rift support, Broken Window’s Grave will also be coming to the Xbox One, they confirmed.

Grave is a horror game with a twist- it has a persistent real time day and night cycle, which cycles through once every five minutes, but every time, the world around you changes (as content is added and modified procedurally). The night is when the monsters all venture out, so the player needs to stockpile and beef up his or her defenses during the day.

Broken Window says, “Grave is two things. First, it is a surrealist interpretation of a procedural environment. We wanted the strange and unnatural elements of Dali-style art to come through in not just our aesthetic, but also the gameplay. That’s why night in Grave doesn’t just bring frightening creatures, it changes the landscape.

“We have been experimenting with ways to do this procedurally and dynamically throughout play, and it’s ramping up into a really exciting experience that we feel is quite unique to the world of Grave. A lot of games use procedural level content; it’s far less common to have those changes occur dynamically.

“The other thing we now know is that Grave is going to serve as an homage and re-imagining of classic survival horror. We want to bring the confrontation, survival and item usage back to horror with a modern twist, so these items don’t empower the player too much but still provide them with influence and agency, something a lot of newer horror games don’t often offer.”

Of course, the release of the game on any platform is pending the successful completion of its Kickstarter campaign. Maybe you can go contribute some money to ensure it gets developed and released.
